I am another one who didn't know about the snowsuits/coats in car seats, keep wondering if there is anything else like this I should know but no one tells you!
I have now started looking at slings, but not sure if we want more of a baby carrier. Am hoping to find a sling library in my local area to give them a go first
Glad you have finished the lo's bedroom Mr Knight. Hope your doctor can help with medication
I had the flu vaccine yesterday and my arm feels a little sore still, dread to think what labour will be like if I am bothered by that and not sleeping due to not being able to lie on my arm on that side.
I know it is scary getting nearer the top of the list, but am so fed up already at 30 weeks I just want the next few weeks to go quickly. I keep telling the bump he better not be late.0 -

Following on from the "no snowsuits in car seats" thing... just wondering about the snugglebundl. Would that be similar? I know on their website they say that baby can be safely secured in car seat...
Also, any ideas on whether it is suitable to use during summer months?

Well done on finishing the decorating mr_knight, and you Mrs C – how are your nurseries looking?
Hello Northern78, welcome to the thread. I agree about under bump clothes, I’m finding the over bump ones more comfy!
Welcome Anglea84 too. Just think how scared your daughter’s future dates will be, with 3 older brothers to keep an eye out for her!
Haha tia86 – I expect our free babygro was from one of their cheapest multipacks, but it brings our total baby kit haul to one pram, 7 babygros, one sleeping bag and a folding travel change mat. Hoping to sorta crib & car seat soon. Can you use sleeping bags straight away, or do you have to have blankets at first?
What a palaver you’re going through sweetpotato – you just want straight answers, nit to have different stories from the different healthcare staff you meet.
Lilmissreading – what are sleep bras? Well, they obviously sounds like bras you wear to bed, but why would you wear them? Are they for big or leaky boobs? How nice of your electrician to do that for free.
Hope they can sort out your gums on Tuesday.
Freebiequennie (or anyone with experience!) can you recommend what maternity towels to buy? Is it really too much for nighttime always to cope with? Not looking forward to the post partum stage at all, think being in a painful wretched state afterward is more daunting for me than the actual birth!
Just finished a long week at work, 54 hours, and had a headache all day, so resting up tonight!0 -
Timeflies, 54 hours? That's nuts at your stage of pregnancy, you need to slow down!!! I was exhausted at 36 hours but the driving I had to do had something to do with that.
Decorating this week was the hall and stairs, a good 20 rolls of paper, baby's bedroom was finished a few weeks ago but still need DH to trim the extra bit of carpet we have under the cot so I can get the last few bits back in as it's doing my head in seeing stuff lying about the house. But hey, why remind him every three months that something needs doing!!!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Timeflies maternity towels are all the same £1 for 10 in supermarkets. I used always nighttime one's from about day 3 or 4 I suffer with v v heavy periods and use those anyway and changed them every 2-3hrs in day n couple times in night as was up feeding baby. I don't think many bleed for 6-8weeks as I did gp wasn't concerned as long as was slowing in quantity n stopped by 8weeks.0

Hi girls
Can't say I remember which Maternity towel ones I used, but the bigger the better in those first few days in my experience!
I am in agreement about the post partum stage. Having been through 3 labours, they aren't too much of a bother, as after all the hard work, you get the ultimate reward at the end, you little baby, and every single memory of the pain magically melts away.
Its the after pains of your uterus contracting back to its original size that are a bummer. By number 3, they were so so uncomfortable. And they get worse with each baby. But I guess silver lining is that its pulling everything back in.
I went to a sling library the other day to get some more ideas, I have a couple of slings already, and it was super useful.
Going to a cloth nappy library next week now.
Anyone else forget how big their bumps are now?
Yesterday I tried to play hide and seek with my boys, but couldn't hide behind the door, was funny! Then today I closed the door on my car and bumped the bump! Not hard but still, surprised me!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

If it covers them over the straps it will be fine, I've bought something which the car seat straps go through, then baby goes in and gets fastened in then covers go over the top. As long as the car seat straps are snug against baby so any possible movement is minimal then it's fine. The problem is when you use a thicker coat, in a crash the coat gets compacted and the baby moves further before the straps stop them so can cause more damage.
Timeflies you can use a baby sleeping bag any age once baby weighs 8lb as they can't wriggle there arms through the sleeve holes and end up with their head under the cover. Thin layers are best when tiny though as baby can't control their temperature and it's easier to add or remove a thin layer than redress baby completely so maybe a 1 tog rather than 2.5. Hope that makes sense xxPlanning to be debt free by 11/20. MFW Jan 2028 - [STRIKE]86700[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]83057.20[/STRIKE]

I will be doing less hours in my last few week MrsC, was just trying to get a bit more cash for baby things this week.
Angela84, yes, I bumped my bump on a chair today. Bending over and getting through small spaces is increasingly difficult. I seem to have general abdominal/back aches, and be very inflexible. Feel like I should probably be doing more exercise to maintain fitness levels for the birth - I just do weekly pregnancy Pilates and that's it - don't even walk anywhere at the moment, and am finding housework difficult - reaching the washing up bowl is a stretch!.
Thanks for the maternity towels info freebiequennie. Have been reading up about the icky bits tonight - making note to buy nipple cream, perineal gel and maternity towels!
And looking at baby names too - far more fun. Think we have a good short list of boy's and girl's names, and can hopefully pick what seems to suit baby most when he or she gets here :beer:0 -

Timeflies I used Asda's maternity towels and they were just fine, and I'm not usually a towel's person.
can't remember who it was being told different things by different medical people - from experience I'd say get used to it. My little one had been struggling with constipation, and I've had different advice from the midwife, Health visitor and doctor. The doctor actually suggesting something that the health visitor said we should categorically not do.0
