    Hello!
Can I come and join you girls?
I'm 36 weeks with number 4, have 3 boys already and this one is a little girl, still hasn't sunk in yet!
Had 2 wonderful hospital births, and then last time a home birth, and hoping to have another this time.
LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021
got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩

Hi northern78 and angela84 and welcome to the big girl thread! I'm off to find and bump the list in a minute so you can add yourselves if you fancy.

Lilmiss, not sure if it's happened to you yet but I got told today that it looks like my bump has dropped. Midwife didn't write in my notes yesterday how engaged/palpable so guess work now until Monday at least when I see the consultant......

  • Hi ladies and bumps,

Hope you are all well. I promised I would pop back and update you on my situation and while not terrible news it's not great either.

I was seen on Monday in MAU where they said nothing was wrong, I posted on here on the Wednesday and today seen my midwife who took one look at me, felt my tummy (nearly jumped through the ceiling!!) and sent me packing to the MAU to be checked by a doctor.

I have an irritable uterus caused (they think) from a urine infection so I have a very high dose of antibiotics (4X250MG, 3 times a day for 5 days) and I'm on rest until I feel better.

I've came home and stupidly looked it up and there's a higher risk for premature labour but I'm not going to dwell on it.

To get to my point; if you ever don't feel right please don't be fobbed off, I am in so much pain and if I had of insisted on Monday or Wednesday I would have still had my urine infection but I might not be like this now with the irritable uterus.

What I find strange is they found that from the sample on Monday that they cultured in the lab but when the GP checked on Wednesday and my midwife checked today the dips were clear.

Most annoying was when I got to MAU today they said they were busy putting a letter in the post to my midwife to inform her and for her to get me an appointment with the GP for a prescription next week :mad: so I would have been in pain until potentially Thursday

Anyway hopefully I'll be feeling better soon and less irritable :D:rotfl:

    Have a lovely weekend xx

What have I told you?! Hush!

No absolutely no signs whatsoever. The mw yesterday said I still don't look pg from the back, bump seems high, I don't get that much of a full feeling down below iykwim - just off and on as has been for AGES, so i recon you'll beat me my lovely. I'm still ok with it but DH is starting to get impatient. However prob because if I can give birth on monday, he'll get 2 weeks paternity and then half term! Therefore DTD has become top fav in our house currently :p

Thank the lord DH fixed the internet. However the downtime means I have wrapped all the xmas presents I have bought and have written what I need to finish the others.

Estate Princess - thanks so much! Will crack on with chutney tomorrow.

 angela84 - this is my first but am hoping for a home birth

sweetpotato - this is a really important point. I am sorry it came out this way for you but I had what turned out to be maternal irritable bladder (basically wee urgency but no infection/reason). Now normally with a touch of suspected cystitis I would have self managed with cranberry juice etc and it was only here that I learned UTIs are associated with premature labour so THANK YOU so much for sharing.

New information i learned - you cannot put babies in snowsuits in car seats. The padding of the snowsuits means they are not secure and the belt might not hold them. Horrible thought but better to know.

Northern78 - lucky for you with no m/s. I hated it!

    Right back to scd :D

Haha lilmiss, quite scary that we're so near the top now, wonder where Peonie is and how she's getting on. After my duvet day today with such a bad night last night, DH came home and I asked him if I put on trousers would he take me out a walk! Was just a wee one but the faithful yoga trousers are starting to let me down. Not only am I now having to wear them under bump but I had them folded so far down that if my top wasn't long enough it would have been indecent!
Hoping that I really do go this week otherwise I'm living in pjs until I do since nothing fits anymore! And despite the 'neat' comments I'm still getting I had on a dress last night even we went for dinner and I just looked MASSIVE!!!

  • Yes Peonie does seem to have gone suspiciously quiet...

I saw your bump photo on fb - it is a neat bump. I can still stare in the mirror at myself wondering at weirdly different I am but also have apparently neat bump.

We went and got a second hand amazonas carrybaby sling today for £15 until I feel brave enough to get a normal wrap. I have also managed to bag a couple of sleep bras for £3 for when the milk comes in and a elc playnest for a tenner.

Electrician came to fix the basement light and extractor fan. It was done before I'd finished making him tea and he gave it to us as a baby present. What a sweetheart.

Well we finally finished the lo's bedroom. Shattered but got there. I could cry at the state of upstairs as the other three bedrooms are a total mess. Need to crack on and sort nursery today but in bed as not feeling great. Heart tablets have been changed and dosage increased and they have. Made me feel dreadful. Seeing Dr next week. Also my washing machine appears to have broken, lo had quite a large accident bless her and now her duvet is stuck in the machine.

I did know about snow suits. Think any bulky coat can be dangerous. You also have to be careful of temperature. The car can get really warm with heating on. I could never understand mums with babies wrapped up inside shopping centres. You know hats coats blankets and they take their jacket off because it's too warm :)

Right cup of tea time. Good luck to those at the top of the list. My oh is going away next week so my legs will be staying crossed.
