Wow mrsC and littlemiss hope you are now having some rest after such busy days.
I now feel a bit sorry for my OH...how embarrassing to admit this but we have not DTD since finding out I am pregnant. I am a bit of a sex panda anyway and think now I am so fat my OH has given up any hope and hasn't even asked!!

View hope the next 3 weeks go quickly at work

Anyone thinking of going to the mothercare baby event if its anything like the one near me I wouldn't bother. Had been told the goody bag would be worth it, but no baby items at all. Some people mentioned getting bibs and baby gros so a bit disappointing.

Hope you're ok - nothing worse than very low iron. Suffered from this for a few years and now seem to have it mostly in control. Make sure you don't drink milk, tea or coffee within 2 hours of taking tablet/before tablet and take tablet with OJ as it helps the body absorb it better. Also if you take vitamin D at all (this really helps me with ferritin stores also) take one at top and one at end of day as they interfere with each other also.

Hope you feel better and the iron levels rise for you.

Haven't even thought of Christmas either yet myself!! Aside from looking forward to our first family Santa photo... I've told OH he needs to dress as an elf and we have a cute little outfit for wee one... me, oh no I'll be very glamorous thank you ! :rotfl:

Thank you .. trouble is I have to take three tablets a day so I'm trying to balance out vit d folic acid baby asprin and three iron tablets I'll be rattling soon !!

Tia, I finally sat down around 7pm for the night then at 10 realised I hadn't put the soup in the fridge. Cue more Tetris but I managed!

DTD....or not. Nothing to be embarrassed about, everyone is different. I always had quite a high drive and this went into overdrive in the first trimester, then cooled off, but is back again! Don't fret over it, and you're not fat, you're pregnant!! I keep saying I feel like the size of a house but i know I don't but suppose were all feeling that way the further on through we get.

Yes you get a 10% off voucher, it lasts til 26th Oct. That is the only useful thing I got. Hope your event is better
  • Without wishing to sound entirely weird, the labour dream appeared to put me in the mood - ? aware that the opportunities are going to be few and far between in the future?!

I spent Feb to June feeling tired and sick which wasn't very conducive to me being in the mood, June until now one or the other of us seems tired or ill or busy, so having had a high sex drive before, it's dropped off significantly for us. We all have our own normal and hence why I mentioned it as this was not my normal for this year but might have been last year!

MrsC I love a bit of fridge/freezer tetris. Made 7 jars of varying sizes of carrot and butternut squash chutney for christmas and currently got DH pulling up beetroot to make beetroot chutney later today. Also making carrot soup later with his homegrown produce as MIl and FIL are coming for dinner. Got a lamb stew lurking in the freezer so can get that out and DH and I made crumble yesterday so just need to combine the filling and topping and we are good to go!

The lamb stew space can then be filled by the leftover uncooked crumble :D

I may never have time to eat this once the baby arrives but it's the thought that counts, right?

    Morning Ladies

Sorry I've not been around for a while still been suffering with this blooming cold and we had antenatal classes all weekend but I've just caught up on everything.

TIA we've only DTD a couple of times since falling pregnant and I do feel sorry for my DH but he's understanding about it as I have pre-existing issues anyway so he knew it would be a miracle to get some action :rotfl:

Lilmiss and MrsC you're definitely putting me to shame. I've been sat here for the last couple of hours meaning to do things but have only managed to put on a load of cot bedding to wash and dry lol. I really need a kick up the ar*e to get our bags packed.

TOFT hope that the GTT comes back fine for you.

View how exciting for family visiting - can't wait for mine to be over in December. Glad that you've been given something to help with the hips etc and the last few weeks of work will fly by I'm sure.

Sorry if I've missed anyone else out but the brain is not functioning yet.

AFM had my growth scan yesterday which was great, she's apparently 6lb 12ozs at the moment with quite a bit of hair so I'm expecting an 8lb gorilla to come out lol. After the scan I had the diabetic clinic as well and they have decided that as I am on insulin I will be induced at 38 weeks so I am queue jumping a little bit. I am booked in on the 19th October and am hoping that it's straight forward in that the induction works quite quickly. Also hoping that she's born on the 19th as our goddaughter's birthday is the 20th (but she'd be so excited to share her birthday so it's fine), my mil's and hubbys cousins' birthday on the 21st. I did contemplate asking if they could set me off on the 22nd but thought it wouldn't be appreciated lol.

I am however in agony having had to sit on the hospital waiting chairs all weekend at the antenatal classes and then for nearly 4 hours yesterday I can barely walk, plus managed to stub my little toe on the bed last night and it's hurting too. Will be very happy when this is all over and we can get on with life as a family.

DH was lovely yesterday and went all giddy about knowing when I'll be induced. Unfortunately we can't keep it a secret from his work colleagues as it will appear on the rota but he is going to have two weeks paternity leave and wants to take 3 weeks annual leave too as he doesn't want to leave me alone too early. I definitely found me a great man.

Anyways hope everyone is feeling well and if you're not I hope that you're being taken care of.

    Hugs to all xx

So, what have we been up to today. I managed to sleep longer than yesterday but still had tonight's dinner in the slow cooker by 9am. The house is a tip due to the decorating but they're getting in great with it. I've even been to work for an hour as they phoned to tell me a new order was in containing stuff I wanted to buy and it's the first time my replacement had received an order so I went through that with him too.
Me and mum working our ya through the carrot cake which is LUSH even if I do say so myself.
Off to midwife tomorrow morning at 39 weeks. Hopefully will plan out the next 3 weeks if I don't happen to go anytime soon. In a fair bit of pain in bump and it hurts more now when bubs moves but I just have to ride it out so to speak.
Hope everyone else is well :)

  • Wow alioops78 how does it feel to have an actual date? Exciting times!! What a nice healthy weight too- had to lol at the gorilla comment :)

Just had a 29 week midwife appointment - all measuring well and heartbeat good and strong. No isues with my blood tests from last week either. Booked in for my whooping cough jab and I'm going to have the flu one also. Had a cold this week and felt rubbsih so definitely don't want the flu.

Got my maternity cover starting on Monday- 6 weeks before my last week. I'm feeling a bit weird about it, expecially as I won't even have desk space/computer.

Thanks for the tip tia86 about Mothercare- I was thinking of it but may not bother now. I do need to get a mattress for my crib though.

Good productivity from MrsC....tobe & lilmissreading- not just with the housework and food preparations ;).
