Just finishing breakfast and going to assemble the pie before moving onto gutting that bedroom that I didn't get done yesterday, then a carrot cake to make aswell. Afternoon on the sofa for me and the parentals can wake me when they arrive!

  • Ah, MrsC, we must be on a similar wavelength!

Woke at 4am having had a dream I was in labour (all went very well, delivered on midwife led unit) so when I woke was convinced it had started although it hadn't.

Mr wrigglepants then did a boogie pretty much constantly from 4-6am. At 6.30 DH woke up and we dtd (not sure if labour dream brought on a surge of oxytocin - he was most pleased if surprised)!

I have since baked a loaf of bread, been finishing off a chutney to use as christmas presents hopefully and been having a bizarre conversation with my mother about sperm containing oxytocin. The docs of embarrassing bodies know all about it apparently. Not sure that's why sex is meant to bring on labour.

Had a couple of hours sleep just now. Off to finish chutney and put away chorizo bean stew I made a vat of last night. Going to spoil myself and have a jacket potato for lunch (don't ask why that's a treat - I'm just weird), empty and fill the dishwasher, do the washing up and probably come back for more sleep! Well, why not?

Hello all. Sorry for the radio silence over the past week or so. Hope everyone is well. No real reason for my lack of writing, all ok with me and bubba to be. Had family visiting from abroad recently which was nice as they won't be around when the wee one makes their appearance.

Just under 3 weeks left in my job (can't wait) however that means only 3 more weeks after until the wee one is here!!!! eeeek

So wish I could finish up earlier, really getting sore pains in my side toward the end of the day, just ligament stretching I'm sure and I have been to the physio who gave me a stretchy band to wear over bump which does seem to help a bit, albeit make me very hot. Very tired by the end of the day too, must be the babba doing all this growing and stretching in the last run up. Ahh well, I'm sure the time in role will pass quickly and I don't like wishing my life away anyway...

Picked up this chair in the Tesco 20% off sale so looking forward to having a go on it before wee one appears. First thing (and probably only!) I've bought for 'myself' (sort of if you see what I mean) for impending arrival http://www.tesco.com/direct/tutti-bambini-gc35-glider-chair-stool-espresso/215-2624.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=215-2624

Hope you're ok - nothing worse than very low iron. Suffered from this for a few years and now seem to have it mostly in control. Make sure you don't drink milk, tea or coffee within 2 hours of taking tablet/before tablet and take tablet with OJ as it helps the body absorb it better. Also if you take vitamin D at all (this really helps me with ferritin stores also) take one at top and one at end of day as they interfere with each other also.

Hope you feel better and the iron levels rise for you.

Haven't even thought of Christmas either yet myself!! Aside from looking forward to our first family Santa photo... I've told OH he needs to dress as an elf and we have a cute little outfit for wee one... me, oh no I'll be very glamorous thank you ! :rotfl:

Lilmiss our day today is very similar, I woke DH for the same reason but he went back to sleep afterwards and didn't appear downstairs til 0720! I just had fruit and yogurt for breakfast but two large bowls of soup at 10am and then off back to bed at 11. I slept a while til mum called an hour ago to tell me that was them just leavin glasgow after dropping sisters washing back to her at uni. I expect them here about 4pm depending on the roads as it's really wet out there. Still contemplating getting back out of bed and making that cake I've not got round to yet.

View, that chair looks really comfy, I'm not investing in anything like that though as baby only has a wee room and there's nowhere else to put it.

Hope your hips feel better with the support. Just think, by the time you finish work lilmiss will defo have her baby and if I've not I'll be climbing the walls! Bump is getting too sore now for there to be much time left for me....

 MrsC, hush your mouth child!

Remind me again - giving birth means going to sleep and waking up with a flat belly and normal body, with a tiny, clean little routine-loving baby?

View - I bought one of those off ebay! it's been really comfortable for pg also. We just about squeezed it in our room (makes it hard for DH to get in his wardrobe - you can guess how quickly I got over that) and i am sitting in it now. It is easy to stretch back or sit forward and the pocket is great for a phone/book/kindle/tablet.

Hope your hips are better soon. Certainly all of us have felt better for not being at work. I find pg really hard as there is a lot of waiting and therefore accidentally wishing your life away!

Leaving in a hour for a lazy walk to the hospital for hydro. Should bottle that chutney before I go.
