  • Tia - I did not not any pain or any side effects after the whooping cough and flu vaccine I went straight to work from hospital.

Scan yesterday went well with a bit of positive news yesterday the checked my amniotic fluid index and my placenta function both of which were positive and working well.

Did not do a growth scan as they just did it last Friday. Coming Friday they will do all the three checks again for fluid, placenta and growth.
They gave some graphs with the current plotted values if the values move up no problems they will just continue monitoring me but if they move down they may have to take decision to remove the baby quickly.

Hoping that the values improve by next Friday.
Have a good weekend everyone. I m resting up as much as possible this weekend with lots of protien and water.

Glad your appointment went well Love Actually and you are now less worried about things

May be a TMI type question but what are you ladies doing about hair removal? Am 29 weeks and found it very difficult with a bump in the way. I use hair removal cream and just want to keep the area tidy. I don't really want to brave going for a wax!
  • Tia- just shaving around that General area n hoping for best can't see now at 32weeks but do it enough to know only shave bikini line anyway. I couldn't do wax normally so no way in pregnancy as more painful apparently.

Whooping cough vaccine.....I forgot I'd had it until the afternoon when I was sitting at work and wondered what I'd bumped my arm on when I remembered. It was a bit sore round the injection site for a few days but I didn't get the redness around it which is a common side effect. It's no sorer than any other injection.

Lady garden.....I've continued with my waxing throughout although not to the same extent as I was, I've just been getting an 'extended' bikini as the pain of going the whole hog whilst pregnant was unbearable! If you're not used to waxing I wouldn't start it now. The bits that have been left are unruly so I've been attacking it whilst sitting on the toilet with a mirror and a pair of scissors! Lol. I've been trying to get DH to help me out but to no avail so I've just had to get on with it myself. I don't rate hair removal cream, never have, and I hate the itchiness with shaving.
My next wax appt has been booked for legs and eyebrows only as I should have a baby by then and if I end up in pain and with stitches nobody is getting near me down there for a loooong time!!!

Have GTT at hospital tomorrow got to be there for 8 !!!!
  • :j aw freshstart that's lovely :D

lady gardening - I just use scissors to maintain. I used to get a bikini wax but always found it eye watering so when I heard it might be worse in pg I abandoned ship. Another who hates itchy shaving regrowth.

Thanks for the reminder though, must have a go tomorrow! :rotfl:

  • Sitting in hospital for the two hour wait between blood tests for the GTT starving hungry as haven't eaten for15 hrs and there is a child who is constantly running round the waiting room bumping into chairs and eating strong smelling bacon crisps! I am afraid I have no patience today :-(
    Morning by the way lol

Tooold - hope the wait is now nearly over and you have a nice lunch planned. I am surprised you have had an appointment on a Sunday!
I hadn't heard about not using hair removal cream in pregnancy...think I will need to try and shave but as people have said it could be itchy.

Freshstart - glad you had a good scan and have a DVD to look at

MrsC I think you are brave to wax in the first place. I wish I was more girly. Need to sort out my eyebrows too. Scary to think when you have your next appointment you will have a baby!

Anyone else finding themselves really emotional in the third trimester? I have found the last 2 weeks difficult, not sure if it was because I had a cold which took a lot out of me and now the problem with my gums is getting me down but just want to cry about everything. Cried this week while watching the news and the Alice Gross search, tearful when watching the Bake Off extra slice summary of all the bakers which isnt even a sad clip, the local news upset me as I read about a woman who died this week having a baby and the baby was stillborn- this would be the hospital I go to if I cant go to the MLU and just in general beginning to worry and cry. Until now everything had been quite smooth and I hadnt felt anything like this.
