Tia, I've been terrible to the extent that they were hoping it was emotional but the doc was on the verge of giving me antidepressants. Since he signed me off work I've been a lot better as I've actually managed to sleep properly even if it is broken, I'm getting a reasonable amount. I'm crying a lot less now, and most days not at all.

Hi all, have been reading just not had time to post.

I was a bit ill after the whooping cough vaccine. Well it could have been the anti-d. Just had aches, hot flushes, cold chills. Only lasted a couple of days and the whooping cough arm was a bit sore but not bad (I could lay on it when sleeping and it didn't wake me).

Glad your scan went well, the 3d scans are amazing. When we went last time the sonographer said how much it looked like daddy and it really did.

I can't wax or even trim properly as same problems have reoccurred. I am now on a 7 day canestan pessary regime. Apparently 3 days isn't long enough! Back to dr in a couple of weeks.

Slightly concerned consultant wants a neonatal dr to check baby when born instead of the normal paediatric dr. All to do with my meds I guess. Will ask mw when I see her next week.

Oh I am an emotional wreck lol. Work is tough and I have a huge walk to the nearest loo (three flights of stairs). I have however finished painting my lo's room. Hope to move her ASAP so I can get the nursery sorted.

    Hope everyone is ok xx
  • Tia - in the 3rd trimester, I have:
    • rolled around the kitchen floor alternately weeping that I was hungry but rejecting every offer of food made
    • wept my heart out over cloudy with a chance of meatballs
    • cried over hearing any music that was played at our weeding even if it turns out it actually wasn't
    • quavery voice whenever telling DH i love him
    • hugged baby clothes
I never watch or listen to the news. I can only get it in comedy friendly ways - Have I got news for you, mock the week etc.

TOFT - hope your GTT went well

  • just wandering over from the 12-24 wk thread to ask:
if we are planning on using a travel cot when staying with parents/in laws etc, do we need to buy a "proper" night-time mattress for it?

A travel cot comes with exactly everything it needs, no need to buy anything else. All you need is sheets/blankets etc.

  • Aunty pickle they come with a thin folded mattress thing ok for a few nights but any longer would buy a proper matress
  • Ah i did wonder if they were the baby equivalent of a futon. Come with all you need for occasional sleeping.

39 weeks today. Off for coffee with lazy daisy and going to carry on with Christmas present wrapping this afternoon OR make carrot chutney. DH grew heaps in the garden and thought they would make great presents. I've also started the fruit base for a crumble.

Must also google what to do with all this raw beetroot he's grown (maybe more chutney presents!)

Looks like a grey, rainy day here today...

I'm lying in bed listening to the wind and rain. No chance of me getting back over today. I've got a big shop to do, work to nip to (to borrow booker card for said big shop), folk to visit that are carrying out a project for us (school kids learning life skills and fixing up the hut and pond at our clubs outdoor curling rink) and a bedroom to gut in prep for mum and stepdad arriving tomorrow to decorate.
I did most of my Christmas wrapping at the start of August lilmiss so that mum could take it away the last time she was here, only one more present to get for down there for best friend but it can wait a little as she's coming up in a couple of weeks time hopefully if baby plays the game and pops out sooner rather than later!

Oh mrsc respect for the busy day and the xmas shopping! I have had several people look at me like i'm insane for doing as much xmas stuff as I am. I say christmas shopping doesn't sound like fun with a 6-8 week old. That's when they suggest online shopping. Not the point I say - it's the thinking of presents that is going to tax my noodle! Plus not a fan of wrapping.

I had a pretty easy time this year. The nieces and nephews in one lot got board games (on sale on Very) and some wee bits to go with them, and the other lot got personalised sleeved blankets from Studio, and the last got his personalised cutlery, swim bag and first Xmas bauble that I grog them all for first Xmas! I cut them to a £10-£15 budget this year and was well within that! My sisters no longer get as I buy their kids and they have so many! Parents get alcohol (since I work in the whisky industry), candle related goodies (since I'm a Partylite consultant) or perfume/aftershave. I know these are all appreciated and used so I don't have to think too much! Nana gets an interflora basket delivered just before Xmas and a Granny gets whisky....I get shouted at if I get anything else as she likes the occasional dram but can't buy her favourite one herself as it's not in the shops!
Apart from my best friend and her son, we stopped buying all other friends so life's a lot simpler and easier when it comes to wracking the brains.
DH always leaves his side of the family until last minute (no surprise there!) and I refuse to do it as I've enough of my own to concentrate on and try to get delivered (264 miles away) before then!
