Hi lotti and welcome to the thread. Feel free to edit the list to add yourself and just remove the quote marks. Did I mention that 23rd January is a good day?! Lol (not for me next year as that's when I go onto smp only :-( )

Lilmiss, I'm not keen on the full moon, wonder if it can make things happen!
Was quite funny today cuddling baby while she slept, don't know how the huge kicks from bumps didn't wake her and she was getting some knocks! Her mums hoping I have a boy as all her friends have had girls recently and she hopes I will break that run. There's another friend of ours due just 5 days after me so were hoping we end up in at the same time for company and support!

    Pornographer!! Love it.

Anyone considering a home birth? We are after attending an NHS ante natal class yesterday but don't really know anyone else in real life who's had one.

    Pornographer!! Love it.

Anyone considering a home birth? We are after attending an NHS ante natal class yesterday but don't really know anyone else in real life who's had one.

I am planning for a home birth. My birth plan (preference) is a few pages back about how I would like it and I have posted about my reasons for it in the past - most recently on one of the 'younger' pg threads. If you want I could pm it as otherwise I fill up the forum with my lengthy posts!

I was inspired if you will by one of DH's friends and two of my friends who all have had 2 home births each and all in their 30s. All were really pleased wtih their experiences (must be to go for a second!) I am also a member of a local home birth support group and can probably send on anything interesting/helpful from them too (like link at top, damn tablet, why does it out it there instead of here?!)

I think you are on the fb group? Bluebell had a hb and she posted her story on the births threads, as did skintchick.

Hope you get enough information to make your decision.

In TMI news I managed to express 1ml of colostrum last night!

Welcome Lotti1982 - nice to see you again :)

Lol at your organised c section freebiequennie!

angeltreats, I haven't considered a home birth - I don't really want the mess or the intrusion into or association with home- I quite like the idea that the hospital is where you go to do the birth bit, it makes it mentally separate for me, if that makes sense! I guess I might change my mind after ante natal classes though - what was it in your classes that prompted you to consider home birth?

I'm so huuuuge! :undecided Well, adequately huge - midwife said I was bang on the right size this week. I'm having trouble rolling over, I'm just like Violet Beauregarde in Charlie & the Chocolate factory, when she's been inflated. I feel like I've just had a massive Chinese or Indian banquet *all the time*. I'm not sure how much of it is iron tablets affecting my digestion or just a bellyful of baby, but it's not comfortable. And it's not exactly alluring; trying to initiate quality time with OH when having difficulty moving is just comedy... I'd ROTFL :rotfl: but I can't roll over....
  • Hi ladies hope all ok cc

Freeebie - loving the pornographer error! Am glad baby is doing well and you have a date for the C-section sorted. Are you on the list or am I being blind, or are you going to keep the date a secret?

Love actually - did you have any effects from the Whooping Cough vaccine? I need to get mine booked, but some people say it hurts a lot so was going to wait until half term!
How did your scan go today?

I am still undecided about the flu vaccine, midwife said they never used to advise on it and depends on whether I feel like I am likely to get the flu before the baby is born.

Welcome Lotti, time on this board I am finding seems to go very quickly, weeks are passing by!

Freshstart - enjoy the scan tomorrow

I have had a bit of a stressful day. Have had ongoing gum problems and the dentist has normally just given a clean. Today I showed her the lump that had grown and had fallen off, and she looked and said that is only about a third of the growth that is on my gums. Left feeling ok as she said she would refer to the hospital and put through as urgent. Have now worked myself into a state though as the dentist called to update me that they have spoken to the hospital and put through the details, but were asked if they thought it was cancerous - she said that to get it prioritised she said she did not know, so hopefully I will hear from them early next week. They have told me they don't think it is, but have now ended up googling mouth cancer and getting upset in case it is. I think it is something else - a pregnancy epilus, but the thought is now in my head. Now regretting being so smug about my trouble free pregnancy - would happily swap morning sickness for gum trouble!
  • I had the flu jab it was fine although the nurse was really useless she gave me the injection then afterwards asked me the revelevent questions like am I allergic to eggs and how many weeks pregnant etc.. The questions should have been asked first as if you are allergic to eggs you can't have the jab luckily I'm not.
£10,000 to go to a debt free life
  • Yes I had a sore arm after the whooping cough. I used it as an excuse to work from from home for the afternoon :D

My GP said it is a non live vaccine if that makes any difference? I believe that means there are no actual bugs in it. It didn't hurt and I had no side effects. Tia don't forget that flu when the baby is here is likely to be even more miserable...

Sorry to hear about your tooth but tut tut for asking Dr Google! He is a panic pants that one. Problems with teeth and gums are very common in pg as you know and it is far more likely some kind of silly random pg symptom. I know what you mean about encountering a problem for the first time. I had to have a growth scan last month where everything turned out to be fine but it did have me in a spin for 2 days as I had got used to all being well.

    Enjoy your scan freshstart?
