Morning ladies!
Hope you are your bumps are all well.
Congratulations to SewIt and lilmissreading!! :j
I had my final MRI scan on Tuesday and baby is looking very chunky, the top of his/her arms are like a Russian shot putterGot a sizing scan today then an appointment with the consultant who will give me the date for either induction or c section. At the minute we're looking at going down the c section route which leads on to my question.....
DS was an emergency c section and I was so high on diamorphine and gas and air that I don’t remember much about it. If I'm booked in for a c section when they take you down to theatre do you just wear a gown or do you have something underneath? I'm packing my hospital bag and hate wearing nightshirts, much prefer pj's so don’t want to buy one if it'll not be worn but if I need one to wear under the gown then I'll obviously get one bought.
Also can anyone recommend a soap powder for newborns? My mum got me some Lux flakes when my DS was born for use for the first few months but I can't find anywhere that sells it now.
Thanks and have a good day!!0 -
congratulations SewIt, wishing you lots of hugs with your little girl, and hoping you get some rest x0

Northern, I think it would be a gown and that's all although I have no experience. Any non-bio soap powder should do for baby things.
AFM, today is my due date. First call at 8.30 today to ask if there was a baby yet. The first day in a week I managed to sleep through until daylight and someone phoned. Thankfully DH spoke to them as I would have shouted at them!
Been out and done the bumpy roads thing, cleaned all the windows and scrubbed them with bleach and a toothbrush for the condensation mould, didn't realise it was so bad. Now I'm having a little break as I'm knackered. I just want this baby out!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Northern I imagine it's just a gown for theatre and then your own comfy pyjamas making sure that they don't rub over the wound area.
As for the washing powder I'm using the Little Angels non bio tabs from Asda.
Good luck MrsC hope baby gets a move on for you and if you run out of housework I've got plenty that needs doing :rotfl:DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Northern I had a elcs last time n will this time n u wear a gown n walk down to theatre they advised a dressing gown for over the top for walking down. I would take a nightdress as u will have a catheter for 24hrs after n the gown gets a bit icky n a lovely midwife in recovery helped me wash n put a clean gown on but as soon as on ward I put a nightdress on.0

Washing powder wise baby clothes get washed with ours n whatever non bio is on offer n comfort or fairy softener. One's u have brought second hand have also had dettol anti bacterial wash liquid added to wash.0

Congratulations Sewit - great news!
I have a cold, which together with general pregnancy complaints - itchy nipples, bad back etc have made me quite grumpy! We have visitors coming this weekend, and lots of cleaning and tidying to do....0 -
Thanks people, I'll pick a cheap nightshirt up just in case. Would rather be prepared.
So the sizing scan showed that baby is measuring above average weight but not massive, it's just a bit chunky. Anyway we got a date!!! Baby 2 will be delivered by c section on Thursday 6th November! It's a relief to have a date, at least we can get prepared now and hubby can arrange his time off with the Navy.
Good luck MrsC, I hope you're not waiting too long!0
