welcome to all newbies, congrats to all births missed.
Just letting you know had a baby boy 7bls 1oz on the 8th of august at 10.05pm still swore after stitches and a re-repair to 2 degree tear COLD Water bottle working wonders! other than that fine. Off to get ready for the next feed! anyone says breast feeding easy is lying!

Congrats scotsbride! Hope you're keeping well other than still being sore and baby boy is also well.

There's a lot of blue babies on that birth list now with not many pink!
I dreamt last night I had a girl and we were calling her by name and everything. That's the second time I've done that although I'm convinced it's a boy.

If it does come true I'm definitely getting a tattoo that I fancy of a dreamcatcher with 'dreams can come true' as I'm pretty superstitious when it comes to them. I dreamt both my sisters were pregnant and they were even though they didn't know if at the time, then every dream I had at the start of this year when I looked up meanings pointed towards pregnancy.

Did anyone try the old wives tale of a ring on a bit of hair or string held over the bump?

congratulations Scotsbride, hope you're enjoying lots of hugs

MrsC my hubby insisted on doing the ring test, and it said girl but I don't believe he wasn't making it spin that way as he wanted a girl lol it was right though

    Congrats scotsbride!

I read into the heartbeat theory about faster heartbeat = girl which was wrong and I felt really disappointed at the scan when it was a boy. If I have any future children I would not look anything up and just wait until the scan.

Tia, our health board won't tell us even if we ask so it's £70 to go private and find out, I think most people here wait on the surprise because of that.

Wow I am glad I didn't have to wait/pay extra. I am glad I know in case if when he had been born I didn't want to bond with him in case I was still hoping for a girl.

Am now officially 24 weeks. Saw midwife yesterday though not much happened, does more happen at 28 weeks?? She mentioned the NHS antenatal classes in the area and I am now glad I have booked the nct ones, in my area the free classes are for 6 weeks on a Friday afternoon! Now I know work have to allow you to attend appointments I would have felt awkward missing so many classes (I am a teacher), also there is no way my partner would have been able to attend.

I read back and have mesaged daisiegg to join the Facebook group, I hope that is okay? Daisiegg let me know if it didn't work or if I should be messaging some one else

Oops sorry only just seen your message - I will try to get onto a PC to add you today (can't do it on my iPad). The other two ladies who could add you have had babies this week so I am probably still the best bet lol!

welcome tia, I've been relatively lucky with my teeth but I do end up with blood when I brush on more occasions than usual, but I'm putting that down to the increased blood running round my body at the moment.
It's certainly been the cause of the feeling I've been getting in one ear that it's full of water which bugs the heck out of me.

My right ear has felt like this for the last 3/4 weeks. I've been using olive oil drops that made it worse, then used some other drops that sort of made it better and saw the doctor the other day as we think I've got a UTI but he wanted to do cultures etc and whilst there he looked at my ear confirmed there was stuff there and said if I do have an infection the antibiotics would clear up both issues.

    Congrats Scotsbride

    to the new ladies.

My mw appointments seem to depend on who I have, there's one good one who takes an interest in me as well as the baby but the other one is just interested in ticking off what needs doing. I've got my 31 week appointment on Monday, my dates don't seem to match anyone elses.

Feeling quite weird today as in really tired and like I'm going to throw up but still dragged my @rse in to work. Only 3 more weeks to go until I finish thank goodness, not sure how I'm going to make it through them either but at least I'm being well looked after. I don't have to take any phone calls and as my manager and the team manager have now realised how much I do they're panicking that I'm leaving and want to have meetings with me to go through everything, nice to be appreciated just wish it could be reflected in my wages :rotfl:

    Congratulations Scotsbride :j:j

    Welcome to the new ladies.

tia86, I've had really sore gums and sensitive teeth since becoming pregnant. Dentist told me its a common problem and it has got better the further along I am.

I finished work on Wednesday and also met my new boss for the first time who seems really nice. He is more than happy for me to work from home half the week when I return to work which is going to be a big help.

Yesterday I had what I am pretty sure was my show (sorry TMI). I called the MW and she said it definitely sounded like it but doesn't mean I am going to labour yet and she's known people go another 3 weeks. I've not had any other signs and I am only 35+5 so I guess its going to be a while yet. Anyone else had a show and then gone on for a few more weeks?

Daisiegg no hurries, it will only give me another distraction!!!

Alioops glad you don't have long left to go, it surprises me how workplaces don't seem more organised when someone goes on maternity. My job hasn't been advertised and I am a teacher, I don't know if they were hoping I would go to the end of school term but I am thinking they need to sort it as soon as we go back as usually new staff start at the beginning of term rather than in the middle when I intend to leave a few weeks before Xmas.

Laila I had forgotten this is the scary board, no answers for you, I am still in denial about having to give birth.
