I am going back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks of summer holidays and feel so drained just thinking about it. I think the holidays have spoiled me. On top of that this week i have to work Saturday also ughh.

I fought being off sick, but you're right the relief was just palpable.
I was more than happy to go back for only 10 working days before starting my maternity leave at 37 weeks but both midwife and work advised against it, which I'm now also glad about.
off to see the 'normal person' consultant on Friday, hope I can get an induction date.

time2deal

Very quickly, baby boy Elliott Lewis was born by emcs at 8.36 last night. He's in NICU but breathing on his own and they say he is perfect. Just a precaution. I've expressed a drop of colostrum and will keep working on it.

2.14kg. I think that is 4lb11. Excellent size at 33+5 days.

I've only seen him briefly as I have a fever and not allowed in for the moment. But DH is giving him cuddles. Can't wait to see him again, but won't put him at risk of course.

He is just the most beautiful thing in the world.

Congratulations T2D! :j So lovely to hear of the healthy arrival of baby Elliott! Sounds like the wee man is doing great, but sorry to hear you have a fever. Really hope it passes quickly and you are enjoying baby cuddles very soon. This news made me tear up a wee bit, it a good way of course!

MrsC - sounds like its for the best that you are off work now, the stress is simply not worth it. Hope you can relax and that you can get a trip to your mum's organised.

Can't help you Aunty_Pickle I'm afraid, I was one of the lucky ones who didn't get sick I have a friend who really suffered though, so please try to take care of your mental health too, as the constant sickness can really get you down. At your booking appointment, I'd second mentioning it to the mw and trying to get some help. hugs

How is everyone else doing?

AFM - I have made an effort to be more organised, and we are now almost finished the baby's room! Furniture ordered and everything. Car seat arrived so now at least we can leave the hospital! Going to look at the As*a baby and toddler event to see if there are any good deals on nappies etc.

Congratulations T2D! It's a lovely name and a good weight. I was told it was automatic that babies under 34 weeks go to NICU. Hopefully your fever will clear and they'll bring him up to you.

And big well done for expressing your colostrum...I remember it being hard work.
