Aliloops what a stroppy midwife is she was desperate she could have sent u off to loo with a pot at the time.
Got some bargain pregnancy vitamins wilko had their own ones reduced to 50p from about£3.50 for 30 in a pot expire mid 2015 this is because changed from pot to packet in box now- only one pot left in ours shame as also 3 for 2. I take them throughout pregnancy n during first 3mths n vary brand dependant what's on offer.
No more cramps at mo in calf but foot cramp continues.
My just 4yr old starts school on Thursday and while he is at school I have my whooping cough jab n then midwife.0 -
Hugs to the ladies having dizzy spells.
RMR hope the GTT went okay.
Freebie hope your little one had a lovely party and is looking forward to staring school
View I also have the Argos pillow though I cannot stay on my right side all night, now getting to the point if tossing and turning as I normally sleep on my front. I don't think I use the pillow right and it just ends up taking up room.
Lemon I have no advice, hopefully pain/breathlessness will go once the baby is settled in position
Lilmissreading am sure its just a precaution, hopefully scan will go well and its another chance to see the baby
Alioops shame there was a fuss about urine otherwise sounds like you have a good midwife.
Just wondered from reading your post do people typically go with their OH's?
Interesting to read about different classes across the country, no lazy dasie near me and not much else so I hope I do meet people at the nct classes else might be quite lonely.
Been back to dentist about my gum, nothing they can do other than cut out the swollen bit!! But not advised. She says it will go down after pregnancy, so only another 4 possible months to put up with a mouth full of blood!0 -
Congratulations scotsbride!
When I had my presentation scan I did'nt take a urine sample and had to do one at the time, but it had glucose in. Apparently chocolate weetabix for breakfast wasn't a good plan. They weren't all that worried but said it should be a sample taken first thing really to pick up and problems, so it might be that your midwife decided not to check a later sample Alioops?
It seems a bit strange that at 38+2 I'm now a day 'more' pregnant than I ever was with DS! Been getting some on-off cramps for the last week but nothing particularly happening, and they stop when I move around and do things, so I guess they are braxton-hicks.
DS had a bad night last night, and was just screaming for ages, didn't want cuddles, just lots of extra milk. I was sorting him out so didn't get to sleep until after midnight (he didn't want Daddy). Managed a nice nap for an hour today though, so that's really helped with the tiredness. We have been hoping that if baby arrives in the night, DS will just sleep through it, but it is a bit worrying if he has another nightmare as we can't just leave him upstairs screaming.
At the presentation scan baby was head down, but on the right side. I've been making more of an effort to sleep on my left, and he has now shifted sidesFinally got around to ordering a new liner for the birth pool, hopefully that will arrive before baby does.

Aw Lemon, that's a horrible feeling, hugs to you. I get really breathless too, makes me feel like a right old unfit lady. Hope baby keeps dropping a releases a bit of pressure on your lungs.
Ali - WFH is great, but I can only do a day or so at a time as I get distracted too easily! Not a big deal re the pee, just do a sample there and then. People must forget all the time! Your DH sounds like a sweetie!
RMR - sorry forgot to say good luck for GTT! Hope it went ok?
Tia - my DH can't get away from work to come with me to all my appointments. Our rule is if its a scan or a consultant, then he'll come, if just the MW, then I go myself. I have had so many appointment he'd never get paid if he came to them all with me!
Bluebell - hope your wee one has a better sleep tonight and that the liner arrives in time for baby!
Freebie, how cute your 4yo is starting school! My niece started a few weeks ago and she LOVES it!0 -
Thank you all my lovelies - yes I was trying to see it as another opportunity to see spongebob but it really helps to hear that from other people.
Tia - I got my bfp in Feb when DH was doing a degree. Until today he has been either studying or doing casual work which made it really easy to come to appointments. He LOVES hearing the heartbeat. Now he is in a 9-5, Monday to Friday job I don't expect him to come and I won't be expecting him to come to the growth scan on Wednesday.
Oooh, Bluebell, respect for anyone with a child already. I have found this hard enough when I can indulge myself if I feel tired!
Alioops - your OH sounds like a sweetheart. Mine is doing sterling work by a) not getting freaked out when on Saturday evening I lay down on the kitchen floor and howled that I was hungry but didn't want anything to eat (all sorted obs!) b) we have some small ceramic massage things that you fill with warm water and can then be applied to my back to help with back pain through warmth and he will do this whenever asked.
Lemontree - I have had some intermittent breathlessness but not ongoing. I find that miserable enough so you really have my sympathy
Sewit - It is exciting to not be on full weeks in terms of work!Met DH to be 2010
Moved in and engaged 2011
Married 2012
Bought a house 2013
Expecting our first 2014 :T0 -
Tia my husband hasn't been to any of my midwife appointments, although he did come to the scans and the two times I've gone to hospital because of lack of movement. The midwife said they don't really see that many husbands at routine appointments and they're not expected to go (although of course they're welcomed if they do go).0

Thanks ladies.
The midwife was the nice one but I just didn't have any pee in me as I'd gone before we got there and the only pots she had were the syringe type ones so even harder to aim at :rotfl:.
Hubby is coming with me to my midwife appointments as his manager is insistent that he attends all appointments with me when he can. As such I've linked our calendars and as the rota is done weekly he just needs to work out the best way to attend. So for my growth scan and diabetes clinic thing next Monday it's easier if hubby works Saturday and then has Sunday and Monday as his weekend. His manager is fantastic.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

freebiequennie You have my sympathy RE the calf cramp, do you watch In The Club when the woman was screaming and her bloke thought she was in labour? This is what I am like some nights :rotfl: Bitter lemon/ Tonic water and stretching before bed is meant to help but I have to say none of these have eased it for me.
View I have a 9 foot Comfort u pillow which I got on ebay. It's not memory foam but it's done the job and was only £25 if I remember rightly.
lilmissreading Happy Anniversary! My bump is measuring 2cm behind, MW told me I would only get a growth scan if there is no growth, she had grown 1cm since last time so she was happy. Have also heard once they go in position they can measure smaller.
Sewit Great news they have sorted your mat cover.
Lemon Tree Sorry to hear you are feeling breathless. Have you checked your iron levels recently?
alioops78 Glad MW went well. I have to remind mine to check my wee half the time!
Tia86 sorry your gum is still giving you jip. Hubby only comes to my scans.
Bluebell Glad the scan went well and sorry to hear about DS, hoping he is a bit more settled for you.
AFM since my show on Thurs, I have had period style pains but very mild and no pattern to them. I get it in my back sometimes too. I can only assume that they are in fact Braxton Hicks as nothing else seems to be happening. I am only 36+1 so it is still early.
Is anyone else still really hot even though it has cooled down? I am still living in vest tops and having to sit with the patio doors open most evenings, poor hubby is freezing lol.0 -
