view, my niece moved from breach to normal at 38 weeks, the night before my sister was due to go in for a C-section.

Thankfully sore throat has pretty much gone, but cold has now moved to sinuses and a dry cough, hopefully it will clear through my system before baby arrives.

Midwife came to the house this morning, everything seems fine, baby was 4/5ths engaged on Friday and is now 3/5ths engaged so we're getting there, certainly explains why walking any distance gets a bit uncomfortable. Though she's still bent around my left side she is still laying pretty straight which is apparently contributing to the breathlessness as her feet are up under my ribs compressing my lungs, which was pretty much what I was expecting midwife to say. Seems weird now that I won't see her until after the baby is born.

what also seems weird last night was seeing the empty crib in our bedroom, we moved it in there yesterday as it was almost the final job which needed to be done. Just need to figure out the car seat now and we're done.

Congrats any name! Lots of boys at the moment!

Vie glad scan went well and that you got some nice pictures

Love actually I got confused and went at 24 weeks to midwife. All she did was check my urine and listened to the heart beat. Was quite quick and didn't feel there was much to say.

MrsC hope your journey wasn't too stressful, sounds a long way to go if not feeling well

Lemon glad the sore throat has gone, hopefully you will clear it all completely before baby is born. How exciting to have the crib in your room waiting!

AFM back at work after summer off, already wishing I was off again already. Definitely going to count down the next 12 and a half weeks until I start maternity leave.

Another question, when you go to the nct classes do they give you leaflets or does anyone make notes?? Am worried that as mine start end of this month and I am not due til Dec I might forget it all!!

Tia I didn't do nct classes but my midwife and health visitors ran a course last time.we did quizzes and were given sheets etc so I made some notes but nothing much.

View my last baby was breech. Can't remember when she turned but it was quite late on. I knew about it too lol. It woke me and the hubby up as the bed sort of wobbled. It was the weirdest sensation but not painful. Fingers crossed baby view won't get too comfy stretching out.

Mrs c hope your drive home isn't too bad.

Feeling really rubbish today. Diarrhoea is back and I feel so sick. Managed only plain pasta for tea as the meat was making me feel really sick. I also have a return of thrush or (sorry tmi) hemorrhoids. Either way I am in agony and feel miserable lol. Got a really busy day at work tomorrow too. Early night is probably what I need :)

    How is everyone else?

Thanks Tia and Mr_k. Made it safe and sound and surprised hubby at lunchtime as I hadn't said I was coming today. Feels great to be home although not sure if my heads in much of a better place than it was before I went.
Been lying on the sofa all afternoon exhausted from driving and conscious that alien hasn't moved much. Hoping it's saving all it's energy for evening time or I'll be paying midwife a visit tomorrow if she can see me.

Mr_k, hoping that it all passes quickly for you, I was sick last night too but going to try smaller portion tonight again.

Tia, I've only had nhs classes and not had anything in the way of handouts but they've been interactive so information has been sinking in rather than being talked at (like infant feeding class where I could have slept through it and retained as much information)

  • MrsC - I woke severeal times last night with tummy ache. It was funny because I couldn't work out if it was inside or outside iykwim. Didn't make today too easy. Hope you are more comfortable today. Glad the drive went well.

Tia - I have a little box of leaflets. We had an NHS birth skills class and have a breast feeding one with both NCT and NHS so hoping repetition helps. Ultimately though I think there is just a lot of forgetting and a lot of figuring out when it all get real.

Lemontree - I'm too early for the engaged marks out of 5 stage but boy do I need to wee when I stand and walking does make inside my groin uncomfortable or painful.

Loveatually - can't remember my 25 weeks sorry! Think it might have been GP led (they alternate in my area between mw and GP). Therefore was a measure of fundal height, wee dip and general how are you. Seem to recall it was over in under 10 mins easy.

AFM had my growth scan today and sonographer stated my boy was perfect :j So being 30cm at 34 weeks is just my normal it seems. In terms of eprcentiles he is at 70th and above for sizes so nowhere near the feared midget status. I apparently saw the crown jewels also but all looks the same to me :o sometimes feels like a magic eye picture and I never got those either!

7-10pm breast feeeding class tomorrow. Tiring.

Hugs to the poorly and weary.

  • Thank you all for the good lucks with my GTT. The drink was fine - not too syrupy and actually quite nice for my sweet tooth. The wait was boring, and I had a dizzy spell but then I was joined in the waiting room by a heavily pregnant woman and we had a good old chat.

Anyway the results are in, and I don't have gestational diabetes (yay!) and my iron levels are all fine. Saw the midwife today and she thinks dizzy spells are just low blood pressure.

Had whooping cough jab too (feel like a pin cushion) and other than a slightly dead arm I feel fine from that one too.

All in all, assuming low placenta has moved by 32 weeks, I'm on for a low risk birth right now so very happy with that, especially as I'm considering a home birth (going to a home birth group tomorrow evening to find out more about it)

Apologies for the lack of personals, I shall catch up properly over the weekend with you all, but wanted to thank you all so much for your help and experience with my various problems.

  • Thanks lilmiss. I'm a bit better today but with the drive (I'm now using a cushion behind me for all driving) and then the rest I'm starting to feel a bit iffy now. My ribs at the front right feel bruised and coupled with the muscle between two ribs at the back right that keeps going on me it isn't too easy sometimes but I struggle on. If I'm just going to be sitting infront of the tv I use one of the heated wheat packs to ease it off.
Hope the pains have passed for you and you're better today.

RMR, glad things went well, hope the results are good news aswell.

  • RMR so glad that you don't have GD and your iron levels are normal.

To put your mind at rest I had a low lying placenta at the 20 week scan and at my 28 week growth scan it's now 4cm from the opening so in perfect position. Unfortunately this removes only one factor in me being consultant lead :rotfl:

AFM so sick of work now, really struggling to wake up and be useful plus I find I'm being really irratable with everyone oh and I keep thinking today is Friday.

Oh well only 11 working days to go and 3 of those are 'working' from home.

Sorry was going to do personals but my brain just isn't up to it.

Hugs to everyone as who doesn't need a hug every now and then xx
