Lush you'll have to tell your boyfriend that bump size has nothing to do with your eating habits if it's worrying him.

Firstly you can be 3 under or 3 over without cause for concern - so if you're 1 under then that's a normal measurement so not sure why he'd be worried?

My bump has always been around 3 under, when the midwife measures me and I had to have that growth scan a while back due to the midwife wanting to be careful incase it were to go down in the gap of not seeing her.

However the drs have always measured me around 1 or 0 under, so it now has in my notes I was 30cm at 31 weeks and 30.5 at 34 as I was back to the midwife for that appt! She said she's not worried as I've had the scan and can see I've grown and clearly I'm being measure differently by different people.

I've got the dr for 36 week appt next week so will be interesting to see if she measures me at around 36 and then I expect ill measure small for 38 with the midwife lol!

So with -1 I wouldn't even be thinking about it! It's really a silly way of measuring. But my point was that I eat everything in sight as I still feel nauseous sometimes, I've never eaten so much in my life, I even finished my dhs meal the other day which is completely unheard of!

I measured 1cm under my weeks at my appointment. I think it depends on body types :)

I measured under by 1cm/week when baby was still lying transverse. Then as soon as baby had flipped to head down I was measuring 1cm/week over!

Find it strange how different appointments/ care is from place to place. I've seen a midwife at every appointment and not had any with doctors.
Still doesn't mean I've bee measured by the same person each time! I think I've seen 3 different student mw's so far! All been very nice though and don't begrudge them having to learn somehow!

Got my appraisal at work next week, that'll be interesting trying to fill out targets for the next year!! :rotfl:
 Mini me due March 2014
  • Thanks Claire, I can understand his concern as I did develop some really unhealthy attitudes/habits whilst losing weight and on occasion have let myself go hungry but I am much better than I was. It's nice to know he cares though!

And I do agree with him (and the midwife) when they say the portion sizes I give myself are much less that a 'normal' portion so I am challenging myself to start to get back on top of eating healthily and in the right amounts/decent portions - not just for the few weeks left of the pregnancy but in general too.

Need to keep myself in top condition as well as making sure bf is eating enough/in peak condition.

Probably doesn't help that she is still tucked in down my right hand side, head down and tucked right in at the back!

I think that the way baby is lying definitely has an effect on bump size, I measured spot on for weeks then was suddenly measuring under but knew that baby had moved around, the following week I was back to measuring normal! :)

So hormonal today. :o Told OH when he got up that I had woken up in a grump and am just feeling tearful and beyond fed up. He took until about 10.30 to start telling me to cheer up and now he's barely even talking to me because I'm 'miserable and just going to take something out on him' (I've been quietly playing on my tablet all morning whilst he plays his game on the TV but yeah, I'm being a monster!) Grrr, just as I think he understands the concept of hormones he proves that he still just doesn't get it! Wait 'till the baby blues kick in! :p He also really annoyed me by doing a load of chores in a really obvious 'Well, I'd better do it since you haven't bothered' kind of way. I'm sorry darling, is your 10 days overdue wifey not doing enough housework?!?! So I've just spent the last hour doing some shopping, making his lunch and dinner to take to work as well as hanging out the load of washing he so huffily put on earlier. And now, predictably, I'm knackered. :( At least my Mum's coming through later to take me for ice cream. Just hope I don't cry all over her! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Ah that explains why then Lush. How does the midwife know what portions you are giving yourself? I guess just make sure he knows even if you do change your eating habits the bump size might not change!

I normally am a snacker but being pregnant well I love having the excuse! I'm just so hungry all the time!

I haven't had any calls from the dr since my bloods got sent off last weds so I'm assuming that means I'm not borderline anaemic anymore, the tablets give me the worst wind I've only taken a fraction of what I'm supposed to!

Really can not believe my hair has got thicker. I have the thickest hair anyway and so much of it but its got thicker! My poor straightners are working overtime!

(This is the hair on my head lol :rotfl:)

Baby has been a tad quieter today but I can feel movement like right down in my bladder so I think she has moved about a bit.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening :)

  • Birdie I think your oh is the one with the grumps! Hope you've had a nice time with your mum, I eould suggest going out all day tommorow, baby's bound to make an appearance at an inconvenient time so why not create the ideal oppurtunity for your little one to arrive?!

We got our car seat from kiddicare today, that's another "big" thing ticked off tge list, feels strange to be coming together with months to go!

I have balloned yet again, am the size of a small house and have developed a very attractive waddle! at least I won't have to worry about drowning at butlins though, this massive belly is bound to keep me afloat!
