Self indulgent post alert. I'm 31+3 and I'm ready to give this baby its eviction notice. I'm sick of being out of breath, it's been over 2 months and I've been off work that long and can't imagine it getting better until I've had the baby. In reality, I hope the bun is fully baked before it comes.

I've now scrubbed clean all of the second hand items we were given. Still no nearer to starting the baby's room.

My next consultants appointment is on Tuesday, let's see if they come up with anything!
    Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
    MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
    Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 2036

Does anyone keep getting pains like at the start of AF? It's not all the time but maybe once a week for an hour or two.

Hugs Peonie. I do sympathise, I've been exhausted and out of breath since the very start and am really not getting much better. Also have the added joy of not being able to find a comfortable position to sleep and needing to get up for a wee several times in the night. I can't walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath and have even started taking the lift up one floor at work which I would never ever do normally.

I bought some Spatone in the hope that it might perk me up a bit but have only just started taking it.

For those who feel like they're behind with doing the baby's room/cleaning second hand stuff, I am currently living in a house that's half finished and have a whole bathroom renovation to do (which includes building work), plus loads of decorating, and the baby's room is absolutely last on the list. About 80% of everything we've bought is second hand and I've not cleaned any of it yet and have no idea when I'll get around to it. I'm too flipping tired to start nesting.

I was off work four days last week as my back flared up, basically it seized up to the point I couldn't get in or out of bed let alone a car to drive to work! It's much better now, I saw the physio yesterday and will see her again on Monday but she expects that the more pregnant I get, the worse it will get and they less they can do about it because they're not willing to do as much manipulation once you start producing relaxin etc. So looking forward to that obviously...

Michelle the GTT test isn't carried out here unless your BMI is over 35 at booking. Mine wasn't, but I have no family medical history as I'm adopted so I did wonder if they'd want to do it anyway but apparently not.

Ali I am the same re clothing, the bra comes off asap and I'm more often than not in a light dressing gown at home or nothing at all because clothes just annoy me. I'm never normally like this, I'm a cold-blooded person and hate my body so it stays covered up all the time.

I've got a bit carried away and have bought almost everything already. Some of this was donated and most is second hand apart from the car seat, travel cot and a few other bits.

Travel cot (Graco electra contour) that has a bassinet. I plan for the baby to sleep in it in our room till it moves into a full size cot in its own rom.

Travel system - Cosatto Giggle in Sunny pattern. We bought the car seat new and the rest lightly used but great condition for an absolute bargain.

    Bouncer chair

    Electric swing

Loads and loads of unisex clothes in tiny, newborn and 0-3 months sizes, mostly sleepsuits and vests

    Ewan the sheep

Moses basket (need a new mattress)

    Wallpaper for the nursery

    Changing mat

Toiletries, donated by someone whose baby's skin was too sensitive

    Huge twin-size playpen

2x stair gates (donated - no idea why they had two!)

Lightweight stroller for when it's a bit older

    Breastfeeding pillow (Boppy)

    Bumbo seat

Cath Kidston changing bag which I like so much I'm using it now as a handbag

    A few little toys

Duplo train for ages 1 1/2 plus, which DH desperately wanted and is really for him not the baby I think

    Sophie Giraffe

Mum in law has knitted a blanket and a cardie already :)

Probably loads of other stuff. I'm not buying bottles or sterilisers as I hope to breastfeed exclusively for a few months but if need be we can get them once the baby's here. Also not planning to buy dummies as I very much want to try to do without them.

Just to let you all know that Leo was born on 06/08/14 at 4.39pm after a quick 4.5hr labour weighing 9lb 4oz on just gas & air. I had a bigger than normal episiotomy as the first cut wasn't cutting it as it were! So I am very sore but coping :-) we had to stay in hospital until yesterday morning as I've had antibiotics and we have been struggling with breast feeding which is ongoing but hopefully we can overcome it :)
  • Congratulations Cmace2. Hope you heal nicely. I hear tea tree oil on maternity pads works wonders.

Thanks for the replies on GTT. I shall chat to the midwife about it and see what she thinks.

Sorry for those having a hard time at the moment, and Laila you sound happy nesting!

Baby update from me - got slightly concerned that the movements reduced a fair bit in the week, but since yesterday it has been crazy in there! The kicks suddenly are much stronger so I think she was going through a growth spurt.

It was my birthday yesterday, so I feel like she's saying happy birthday to me :)
