Anyways onwards and upwards I just have to remember that I don't get paid enough to get stressed about work not being done and if the sh*t hits the fan after I leave it's not my fault.

this is exactly the frame of mind I'm in. I was worrying myself silly about this meeting and that proposal blah blah and literaly running between printer and desk etc.. and suddenly thought, why am I doing this. I can be just as professional and be calm. It just does not matter in the large scheme of things to get yourself stressed out about work. Yes you need to perform in your job however, hopfully most places will take exhaustion plus all other pg ailments into consideration and at the end of the day if you won't look after your wee one to be, who will.

That's the enlightment that came to me one day and I just became almost calmer immediately. I do have to stop myself sometimes and try to chill. Reminding myself stressing the wee one before she's even born is not a nice mummy thing to do. So I stopped it. Hope things work out for you alioops x

oh and for those asking about the sleeping on your back vs side - my mw and various consultants advised me it's best to sleep on your left as if you're on your back or right hand side you can depress or block the venus cava which is a big vein that provides blood and nutrients to the wee one. You have to sleep however so if you're on your back you're on your back... just whilst you're awake I was advised to try and be on my LHS as much as possible. I notice she kicks more when I'm on my LHS.. but that may be to do with lack of room and the pillow getting in the way!

Oh and finally - it was me that made the comment about not having a mum and wishing I did. I do understand that some mums can be highly annoying from time to time, I get it I promise! I was just saying that I would rather have a mum who was alive and able to be with me than not, tis all. I understand what you're saying however.

View - forgot to say re movement that I feel the most between 9-12 in the evening on my left side with the occasional squirm at lunchtime. Unusually he was having a fiesta though 3 days last week and I felt him a fair amount when sitting and today he kicked the top under my ribs so hard I had to move back from the desk where my bump was (I thought) safely enconsed underneath. It would have been 29 weeks for me that this has started to happen.

thanks for your update, it's good to hear you have a wee active one :-) hoping they don't cause to much discomfort for you. I have felt her quite a bit over the last few days... night-time she's pretty active... perhaps she's getting me ready for things to come! ie: keeping her mummy awake through the night!

PS GUESS WHAT EVERYONE....WE'RE ALL HAVING A BABY!!! :rotfl:

I think this has just sunk in for OH and myself.... is there someone you can pay to have the baby for you? lol :D

Hi to angeltreats and Runmichellerun, nice to see you over here :)

Feeling a tad better today thanks all, it is tough working and commuting, even though I'm not driving it now, but today we got away earlier. Once we got all the problems sorted out and I had to get brain ache trying to work out how to get things back on track after a breakdown, and a visit being put off until tomorrow, I kicked the contractors off site so we could get away at a reasonable time! Just got to keep my fingers crossed that everything stays in working order now although it won't be me that gets woken in the middle of the night by the phone!

Re the sleeping thing, I try and go to sleep on my left but me and oh have got so used to falling asleep a certain way I can't get out of the habit of the right, even when he's not here! I'm finding I wake loads during the night, like every time I turn, and I've also woken up on my stomach which at nearly 30 weeks you'd think my body would be saying no to! It does hurt a while after that.

I too keep getting caught out by the mirror, not sure if catching sight of myself is a good or bad thing. At work there is a small mirror above the sink, directly opposite the toilet so I can't really miss myself in it, and every time I've been to the lol today and seen myself in it I've thought back to January when my double f's looked tiny in my size 12 work shirts and now at g they look mahooooooooosive in my vest tops! I want to be normal again!

Thanks View very wise words and pretty much everything that my Manager has said to me. If I'm not feeling up to it then there's no point struggling and stressing myself and the baby out. She's said that there's only so much I can do to train up the new people and she's well aware that I'm doing more than I should as I'm a very concientious worker.

She even went so far as to say you must come back as we can't cope without you. I did say that I would find it a struggle coming back after quite a few things that have happened over the last couple of years etc and she said that hopefully by then there will be a couple of new roles and essentially would want me in one of them. I did say that if I'm back it would only be doing 4 days a week.

OH MY GOD how scary is it though???? I mentioned to hubby this morning that it might be wise to start to get the room sorted so that the cotbed can go up but that's going to make it even more real lol.

Glad that you're feeling better about things today and that's it's being sorted out.

    Evening everyone.
Well I finished work today :D
Got my 38w midwife appointment 2moro and a wedding on Friday. So I'm ready for baby to come from Saturday onwards lol :rotfl:

I cried today leaving work. It's my first hurdle on the way to motherhood. I love my job & was worried about being out of touch with it all by the time I go back after maternity! But I know once baby is here those 'worries' will disappear.
Until baby arrives I, hoping nesting kicks in! First thing on my list is to leave the lounge curtains into the dry cleaners 2moro & maybe Hoover the stairs!
I will have lists of stuff to do but will no doubt waste the most time making up these lists

Hey all. Quick update from the wilds of Portsmouth. Lovely day, although I've overdone things of course. Lovely to have a change of scenery and just a bit of big sky. Tomorrow hopefully we'll go down to the beach and paddle in the water.

Ive also broken many rules! Walking for a few hours, a glass of red wine (!), 2 cups of real tea (!!) and even pink meat (!!!). Baby must be in shock. I'm sure he'll pay me back with heartburn tonight. DH asked me if I bought the heartburn stuff - I laughed!! Probably the first thing I packed. :)

The wine was totally worth it.

Plus we had a nice chat about the thing we had big argument about last week, and resolved it mostly, or at least can now calmly talk about choices. It was to do with his work, and now nice to discuss without the emotion. Ah the ups and down of relationships.

Hope everyone is ok. Sorry did lack of personals, but welcome runmichellerun!

You're not a moaning minny and you're definitely allowed to complain! X

Timetodeal - sounds idyllic glad you had a adult chat about things and are treating yourself. I'm still completely off alcohol but I'm 100% sure my prosecco obsession will return! Can't believe we'll have a nearly month and a half old wee one on Christmas Day ... Good reason to crack the prosecco if you ask me !
