Yes - be careful peonie! Fainting is not good at any stage. At least you can milk it for some sympathy from DH too! Maybe you can get some housework out of it. ;)

I'm doing ok, but pretty warm tonight still. I bought a baby ear electronic thermometer and so I tested it on myself (as you do) and I'm 37.7C. I'm normally a cool person - more like 36C, so that may explain why I am always feeling hot. I know a higher temperature is normal in pregnancy, but its not ideal in summer.

DH and I are slowly resolving things. Back to normalish - although avoiding sensitive topics. We are going to have an overnight trip next week, just for a quick escape and change of scenery, and hopefully a sea breeze. It's been a long year for us, with endless medical issues and never being able to take holidays, so even a quick trip away will be welcome. Can't go far of course! We will be within 2 hours of the hospital at all times. Oh to be free again!

Whopping cough vaccine on Monday, and then a quiet week. NCT classes start on Saturday.

Excitingly my Mum and sister have booked tickets and are going to be here in 2 weeks! will be lovely to have them here, even briefly. Not sure where they will sleep though...
  • Skint stole one of my names... Lol. Gabriel James. Beautiful names skint. xx

Peonie- make sure if you do bath that the water is not too hot. It was one of the things my cardiologist advised me when I started having my palpitations. Something to do with it drawing the blood to the surface of your skin as your body tries to cool down. Also very cold water splashed onto your face whilst having palpitations may stop them. Hope they get to the bottom of it soon for you. There are two types of monitor that they can use to see what type of palpitations you're having. One records continuously (so it captures what happens whilst you're sleeping too) and one records only when you push the button. You have to push the button on both and write in the diary whenever you have an episode. If they haven't caught a palpitation/ your diary has gone a bit squiffy ask them for a monitor that continously records and see if you can have it for longer than 24 hours. I had one for 7 days which was a pain but meant that they could accurately see what was going on. My palpitations are like buses... None for ages then loads all at once! 24 hours was too short a period for me. Take care of yourself though! xx

T2D, glad you and OH are getting back on track. Hope the break does you both wonders. Lovely news that your family are coming over too. :)

    Skint that's a lovely name.

Mrs C sounds like a really good plan of action that work have sorted out for you especially with driving as it takes more out of you than you realise. Hoping that it helps to ease your stress although reading you've got film crews etc to deal with I'm a little bit curious about what you do now lol. The plan to finish earlier is also good and the 19th September is going to be my last day too.

T2D glad that you and your oh are getting back to normal and great to have some time away from the house. Yay to your Mum and Sister coming over, I'm a little bit jealous lol.

I've been sleeping on my left but I wake up on my back so can't really do much about it. Worryingly I'm waking up with my thumbs and next two fingers completely numb and my right hand is going numb quite frequently during the day especially when using my phone. Should probably ask the midwife but she'll probably tell me to ask the consultant lol.

Had an issue with hubby again on Friday but think we've sorted it now. I was going to rant to you ladies about it but it would've taken ages as I was on my phone.

Definitely having a nice relaxing day today and going to stretch out my calves all day as the cramps have started.

On a happier note hubby put his head on my bump yesterday morning and when he moved she kicked so he put his head back down and she kicked him in the nose lol.

Have a great day ladies and sorry if I've missed anyone xxx

  • Welcome all, long time, no read for me. We've been 'oop' in Peak District (I know not proper North at all but I am a Southern princess through and through). Was at DH's best man from his first marriage's wedding (does that even make sense?) Met the first wife also which all went fine. I thought my dress was prettier (thanks to loan from classy friend) but her her hair was better. That seemed fair. Got some nice photos of me, DH and bump :j

    Skintchick - lovely name

MrsC - you poor sausage :( sorry to hear about all that. I spent week 27 I think it was with 2 nights in tears. Had stern word with self, rationalised diary, cut back, spent less time on the internet, more time relaxing. Last week was fine. Then spent Wednesday evening in tears. Fortunately I have planned it so I have only 2 weeks of 5 days working fpr the next fortnight, 3 weeks of 4 days working, and then I am doing 5 days work over a fortnight meaning I finish at 37 weeks or 18th September is my last day also! We then have a wedding that weekend too  Think I can make it. Have stopped being accommodating at work and sticking to what's achievable instead of going over and above. Uncomfortable for me but necessary. Have been very lucky to only need 1 day off sick this pg (so far).

Lolz can't remember who said it makes them but jealous/sad to hear others moan about mums but they are a mixed blessing. Mine was texting me to ask ask how I am and I said the above in text shorthand and that I've not had a day off since April or a week off since Christmas. As per that turned it into a ruddy competition and she texted back that she has been working 7 days a week without a break since October. Oh I said, apart from the holiday to Croatia last month? Oh that she said. She works part time in a school so gets the holidays and days off in the week but that's no barrier to her winning against me and my full time year round post

cmace - think you said something ages ago about reflexology? No it's not recommended but mine (see her 3/4 times a year) was confident about being able to treat without it affecting the pg and have been twice since falling pg and all been fine. Wouldn't have started with someone new though.

t2d - hope the weekend away does you both the world of good.

I sleep on my left but have also woken up on my right (bad mummy) and do the same as tcod sometimes where I prop myself up on one hip.

Had 28 week on Friday and pleased to say i continue to be unremarkable in every way and even at 29+4 he was asleep with his head down in my pelvis. V early days but I like to think he's getting into good habits.

BluebellB - if you get a chance to post your home birth story I would be interested. I know 3 people who have had 2 home births each so always glad to hear of other stories.

Peonie - sorry to hear you are still poorly.

Right off to bed, got lazy daisy tomorrow and antenatal hydro on Tuesday so probably not posting for a while.

    Hugs to all

Lol nothing exciting, I'm in an industry where we're working on a relaunch of products later this year so we've had crews making short video clips and adverts, interviews etc. thankfully I've not had to appear in any of them!

    Hi all

Not sure if someone has already mentioned this but at Asda they have the Tommee Tippee closure to nature newborn starter sets on offer down from £30 to £15. You get 2 x 150ml bottles, 2 x 260ml bottles (all with slow teats), 1 x bottle & teat brush, 2 x dummies and 2 x medium flow teats. I picked 2 up today.

So much for a reduced hours day. Was told today I'd be home early leaving site at 1pm meaning I'd be dropped off at 2pm. I got home at 6.30pm after leaving at 7am this morning. Tomorrow we leave at 8am and I know already I'm going to be home at the same time unless I drive back myself which defeats the purpose of having someone there to do that for me.

Empty house, not even the dog here to greet me so it was a fried egg piece for dinner and straight to bed. I can see a pattern forming this week. I want to be in my wetsuit in the sea with the rest of the family :(:(:(

Sorry things didn't go to plan for you today Mrs C I really hoped that it would work out for you but maybe it's just a kink that needs ironing out. Oh and you say nothing exciting however compare to my job in Adult Services with the local council it sounds really interesting to me lol.

lilmiss sorry that your Mum feels it's a competition between you.

 angeltreats nice to 'see' you on here and yes it is a bit more scary as you leave this thread with a baby

I left the house in tears this morning as I felt really sh*t and overwhelmed with having to train 3 people now that when I walked into work I got to my desk and burst into tears again so walked out to the loos. Luckily my line manager arrived at the same time and followed me in asking what had happened. I told her that I just felt really overwhelmed explained that I'd had back spasms the night before and she told me to take a flexi day and sent me home after telling me off for coming in. I got home and had a couple of hours with hubby before he went off to work and have spent the day watching aussie house renovation shows lol. I'm feeling a bit better now but having 7 weeks of training up 3 people is just ridiculous to expect of me really especially as I'm just a lowly Administrator. I definitely don't get paid enough to do it. Anyways rant over tomorrow is a new day and I work from home on Wednesdays so it can only get better right???

Oh and someone else I know has had a premature baby, 6 weeks early this time. I've had stern words with little miss sproglet that she is to stay put firmly until she's evicted either naturally or by c-section whichever is decided lol.

Hugs to those that need them xxx
