tcod - how am I to bake a cake when mine will just appear in her cot one morning after a good nights sleep?? I suppose I could go to the effort of clearing my throat if that's what it takes.
It's skint's posts that keep bringing it home just how 'grown up' this big girls thread is- people have babies whilst on it eek!0 -
How exciting skintchick!!
I think I'm in denial that I'm 38 weeks. I too am hoping the baby will just appear in his Moses basket one day!!! I was quite scared of labour during the late second trimester, then I got over it for a while, and now it's back! Eeek!0 -
Just popping in to let you know that our beautiful daughter was born at 40+4 on Wednesday 23rd July at 12.36pm weighing 8lbs.
We had a bit of a frantic time really as she was undiagnosed breech and came really quickly. My waters went just after 9am and contractions started immediately, every 2 minutes. We went straight to the hospital where they examined me immediately. I had dilated to 7cm in under 2 hours and there was meconium in my waters. That's when they spotted she was breech. They just managed to get me into theatre in time for an emergency c section. Fun!
We're now home and both doing well. It wasn't exactly the birth experience I'd hoped for but I genuinely don't care. I have my baby, she is perfect and I love her.

Hi all,
Sorry for cryptic postings. Have had (am having) a tough few days. I seem to have the crying slightly more under control, but still not talking to OH. He is just being horrible. He is back to work tomorrow (he has a scheduled long weekend every three weeks) so hopefully I can get myself back together a bit.
Good luck skint. Hope to hear you have a new little one tomorrow.0 -
Managed a second coat of paint on the walls tonight, tomorrow night if I'm lucky and have time I'll get the white out and give the other wall a freshen up, then it's just the paper to go on and a carpet to choose and fit.
DH managed to find most of the fixings for the cotbed from the loft so I stopped at homebase on the way home tonight to see if I could get similar and managed so looks like we won't be needing my friends one after all.
Tried at work today to pass between my chair and the wall and found I no longer fit when I did last week, cue, tape measure out again tonight and yip, waist is an inch bigger than it was last week when it didn't change from when I first did it a few weeks back. At this rate my desk will have to be moved further out from the wall to make more space for me! LolNo longer ...tobe! mrs C I'm glad I'm not at work, because I'm sure I would no longer be able to pass between my chair and the chair of the person who backs onto me, he does tend to perch on the front of his chair and have a fairly big tummy but when I do go back he may have to start breathing in a bit more0

Morning ladies
Hugs to those who need them. I'm not going through the same thing, but we have made some very difficult decisions financially & I hope it's the right way forward to us.
Not easy choices to make at 37 weeks pregnant! Something we should have done a few years ago, but the reality of becoming parents made the decision easier to make for us!
I am off work today. I finish next week, so just 5 working days left for me
I'm treating myself to a pedicure this morning. Wanted reflexology but my midwives told me it isn't advised until after 38 weeks!
I need to get another pair of pjs for my hospital bag & I think that's it done. I don't have many maternity clothes so just going to rely on OH to bring me clothes to the hospital to wear home.
I think I'm due an emotional breakdown anytime soon. The realisation that baby has to come out, the responsibility of being a parent (and not having a clue what to do!) combined with not having the routine of work are all muddling together to frighten me :rotfl:
Nothing a good cry won't sort out I hope :cool:0
