Congrats Skint - how lovely, a wee boy! :j Glad the birth was ok, but boo to no pain relief! What a trooper you are!
Peonie / WTDN - I was told that my hospital don't like IVF ladies to go past their due date either. Something to do with some evidence the placenta can stop working as effectively. I get two extra growth scans to check on the placenta (and baby of course) and if I have not popped naturally by my due date, I will be induced. Standard practice here apparently, but as with all things NHS, it probably differs across the country! Might be worth an ask though.
So exciting that you guys and T2D only have 10 weeks til you meet your babies! Time has flown by and our TTC journeys seem like a lifetime ago.
Laila - congrats on the house move, how exhausting for you though.
TACOD - yes I'm fine, I wasn't going fast, just reversing around a corner and there was a lamp post on the corner of the pavement, which I mounted. I honestly don't care that I did it, where as normally I would feel really bad about that sort of thing. Am leaving it to DH to sort as he uses the car more than me!
Welcome View, nice to have you here!
Ali - I agree with the others, you need to get him told! That is not how to behave as an adult, never mind when there is a baby on the way!0 -
A big hello back and this above literally made me LOL! oooo couldn't you go a Coffee or Choc Chill in this heat! As long as you're not Dazza and Shazza playing Accadacca on the way to Maccas you'll be fine ;-)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Pass me a Choc chill thanks mate. I definitely needed this
Glad you're doing ok. Was thinking I hadn't seen you on here for a wee while. Sounds stressful re wedding - hate it if I don't know anyone at an event... you should tell your OH in no uncertain terms that there are nights where pals are welcome and nights where you need peace. Hope it all works out x
I think I'm just going to ask him to keep it to Sunday afternoons if possible as that's when I seem to be at my most unproductive it just sucks as I get relegated into the bedroom while they're in the loungeroom as we've only got a small 2 bed bungalow (or normal house to us :rotfl:)
Thank you everyone else for the welcome, must admit I'm feeling pretty ok with being at the bottom of the list... I keep having EEEEEEK moments forgetting that I will actually need to give birth! Hope you're all doing well x
It's great being on the bottom of the list again isn't it, my count down is to when I finish work not when the baby's due as I'm going to wake up with a nice clean baby in the cot next to us cos that's what happens isn't it????
Thanks for everyone else's replies too glad I'm not just being silly. I'm going to have a chat with him and get him to choose one day for his mates to come over. He's normally pretty good at looking after me and I think I've not said anything as he doesn't go out with the guys or meet up with them regularly plus if I'm knackered I just want to go to sleep so didn't have an issue but now it's turning into as often as they want it's definitely got to stop happening so often. He's an absolute b*gger at not being able to say no.
Wow congratulations skintchick well done with no pain relief and can't wait to hear what his name is.
After reading other peoples thoughts I'll probably look at wearing a button down nightie or something similar to give birth in although I could be having a c-section so that would mean a lovely hospital gown instead. Anything where it's easy access for skin to skin / feeding is my main thought so will see what I can find as I don't think my local Primark has a maternity section yet.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Glad it all went well Skintchick
Having today off, have sent DS to play with his Grandpa as the childminders is closed and I'm just feeling too tried to run around after a toddler. The builders are bashing holes in the house today, and we've had the water and electrics off for most of the day (just came back on). I feel like the building work might be coming to an end soon now, this is the last major room to sort, then it's all the little jobs to finish off.
Apparently the cold water feed to our old kitchen (which is all coming out now) was through lead pipes...
Looking forwards to having our cat back too (she has been at my Dad's since April)
Bump may have moved down a bit - I'm certainly getting some low down 'bump' aches now which I haven't had before. The room that's being worked on now is the one I'm planning to use for a home birth, so as long as it's done by the time I'm 37 weeks it should be OK!0 -
Congratulations Skintchick! :j:j
Peonie Sorry to hear about your sister. Also my friend had an IVF pregnancy and they induced her early.0 -
Congrats skintchick, hope you're feeling ok now after not having the pain relief....
Sitting at work this afternoon rubbing my arm wondering if hubby had knocked me last night for snoring again as it was a bit sore, then when the pain didn't go away I remembered I'd had the whooping cough vaccine this morning! Stiff, sore arm now, just another bit to add to the list of other sore bits. Struggling to sleep now as I've got a sore back, still got the sore shoulders, and to add to it all sore hips with the pain worse on whatever side I'm sleeping on at the time.
Midwife tomorrow morning at 29 weeks to carry on being a pin cushion. Is there any more after this?!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
congratulations Skint, enjoy lots of hugs with your little boy.
Have to admit giving birth at home scares me more than a little, I'm pretty glad that I won't be given that option.
Laila, I think with paint as long as it's a well ventilated room you should be ok, but I'd probably cop out of any glossing because of the stink of the stuff.0 -
Many congrats skint! Welcome to the world little man!0

I started off by wearing a hospital gown during labour, but was so hot and sweaty i just wore my birthday suit in the end lol. I was in and out of the shower/bath anyway so birthday suit was most practical
