:j congrats pomme! :T
Exciting times skintchick! :j
Am on tablet but the next time someone edits the list can they add the '1' to pomme's date as otherwise she is down as 8th not 18th. Imagine that'll be something to do woth skintchick being in labour!
Bought a moses basket, swimming costume and mat bra for £32 from mother care on Satruday so pleased with that. Also won a beanie baby caterpillar for a £1 raffle ticket. No good for mini me for years but looks nice in nursey.
Had a wee burst of energy and sorted loads of paperwork yesterday and today have sorted all the 0-3 month clothes we were given and nappies etc. Got the 3+ clothes left to do. Even moved a bookcase in the baby's room. DH will grumble I didn't leave it for him but reading the 'leaving OH a list' thread reminded me how much easier it is to just get on with things!
Also went to hen do yesterday and survived lunch from 1pm and then a treasure hunt from 3.40-6.30 on foot in the sun. Managed to do it all without harm to myself or mini me (and won). He was certainly quiet yesterday but put that down to the heat and me moving a lot. He was certainly squirming around this morning and DH could feel him too.
Four day week coming up as we are off to a wedding in the Peak District and leaving on Friday to give ourselves enough time to do it with lots of wee breaks! Meeting DH's wife he was with for 14 years for first time  Worried as for the first time my leaking since week 18 boobs have finally beached my bra and pad to leak onto my t-shirt  Better not happen at the wedding!
Looking forward to lazy daisy tomorrow :jMet DH to be 2010
Moved in and engaged 2011
Married 2012
Bought a house 2013
Expecting our first 2014 :T0 -
Hi everyone. Seems like ages since I posted but haven't really had a lot to say!
28+3 now, still thinking about the long lonely maternity leave ahead but managing not to cry about it for now. Have to get through 4 nights of being home alone first as DH and the boys are away with his parents and I can't get off work as usual at this time of year. Then the day they come home I'm off on a long trek to Harrogate for the weekend. I'm not going to be good by the end of that week.
Today I managed to get hubby to almost finish the bathroom without even saying a word. I took all the bits out of baby's room and dumped them where he would trip over them so he had to get it done! Just the towel rail to go back on when we've got one last piece and that's it done.
While he was doing that I was up and down into the loft with bits and bobs and then emptied baby's room into the hallway as much as I could so I could start painting. We chose the Fun4Walls paper in the owl print from B&Q and Dulux mint macaroon paint since we don't know what we're having and thought the paper quite girly. I've since fallen out with crappy Dulux paint and I'm leaving the window wall white otherwise I won't have enough paint to do a second coat in a tiny room and it's £25 a tin! Still undecided about curtains so might wait until the arrival before I choose them as I can pick to match a colour from the paper again.
After 2 hours of all that I promptly lay down and fell asleep!
Bought some bits off the Babies R Us flash sale this weekend aswell, worth a look!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Lilmiss hope the big meeting with OH's ex goes well, and more importantly you enjoy the wedding.
Mrs C sounds like you were very busy this weekend. I went with a friend on a trip to London for the day, saw Miss Saigon which was great. Only problem was the heat and the fact that it was such a long day. My tummy seems to be so very heavy at the moment and Little Miss seems to like living at the top with her head jammed right up, feels like she's trying to stretch my ribs apart most of the time. OH decided we were having a bbq yesterday, his brother and mother came and my mum brought some of my sisters kids. I told him if he wanted to do it I wasn't going to be too much help so he and his brother did all the work, though I did have to entertain the MIL by myself for almost 2 hours which I deserve a medal for. I ended up asleep by about half 8 slept all the way through to this morning, with the inevitable wee breaks. still feeling knackered, and very achy in my back and tummy.
hope every one has a good week ahead.
skintchick hope you're enjoying cuddles with your baby at the moment.0 -
Nope no baby yet . I'm not sure if it was my mum and dad arriving, or DD going crazy because GRandma was here, but everything died down and pretty much stopped, although I felt exhausted by 8.30 so had a lie down.
Didn;t sleep much but was only having the odd contraction overnight, then at 5am was woken up by them starting, andmore intense than yesterday. They seem to be every 5-10 minutes which is still prelabour stage really, but definitely very painful now although I can still speak through them - just.
I thought this labour would be faster than with DD so it's a total shock that it's going so slowly. I actually had a little cry yesterday about it, and this morning, and have tried to come to terms with the fact it may be ages. I just feel bad I've called my mum down when I'm not really in full labour, and a little silly to have thought it was all happeneing when it isn't.
I mean it definitely IS happening - I can;t see there;s any going back from how things are now, it just is obviously going to take much longer than i thought and that's thrown me completely.
I may pop back later and see how everyone is doing. Feeling in limbo right now - can;t bear the thought of going out and doing anything but it's boring being in just having contractions. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Oh skint, poor you! You must feel so frustrated. I hope little man or miss gets a move on soon!
Can you bake a cake? I remember reading about women historically baking cakes when in labour to distract them from the pain! Might be something to keep you occupied if you are bored and then...you can eat cake!0 -

Sympathy for the pain but exciting that things are moving along! I presume you have had paracetamol, warm bath, massage, etc? All the things that they talk about but probably don't make any real difference!
Eep! Good luck!0 -
Ssssh Daisie! All of those things *do* work! And then you just clear your throat and out pops baby in time for a cup of tea and a slice of freshly baked cake! (I'm definitely not delusional... Honestly!
)
Skint hope it stays bearable for you and progresses nice and quickly. Xx0
