Have you felt the baby move yet? If not, do call your MW even though it's the weekend - or the labour ward at your hospital. You should feel baby but sometimes when we're busy or when it's hot they go a bit quiet. Lie quietly for an hour and see if you feel any movement and if not call asap.
Hi skintchick. Yes, I have felt the baby move. She was quite active up to about three days ago and then nothing. Just per my post a few above, I phoned the hospital and the midwife told me to have an ice cold drink and lie on my side for 45 mins. I 'think' I felt something, a little wriggle perhaps two, and now nothing. However the midwife said it's very common for this to happen so I'll see how I go over the next few days.
Has anyone else felt movement and then nothing for days around the 24 week mark?0 -

Sorry I meant had you felt her yet today?
If you're worried then go to hospital and they can monitor you for half an hour and check it all out. I don't think it's normal for you not to feel them for days.

The midwife said otherwise so I'm really trying to be Zen and not panic. She said sometimes at 24 weeks you can feel them off and on and not even realise that you've felt them at all. The movement for me are very small, almost like a little tickle so sometimes you can think in your head 'was that a movement or is that just my digestive system' IFSWIM
I'm going to monitor it tomorrow and then will phone again.0 -
Ah, I see. At 24 weeks my movements were big and unmistakeable, so probably different for me. Yes, it is easy to miss the small movements.

I'll take your and other mothers advice too.. this is my first one so I'm really not sure what to expect! Funnily enough I just felt something as I was typing this.. like I had eaten a live crab that had just pushed something!
How can you tell difference between movements and hiccups btw?0 -

Hiccups are regular and close together, feel like baby is jumping a bit. Movements tend to be more jabby or even sweep across your tummy.

Please read through this: http://countthekicks.org.uk/mums/
I volunteer for them, but would still recommend you read through it regardless. It is NOT normal to feel baby routinely, then nothing for days, no matter what the midwife says! I'd rather be monitored and find that everything is fine than find out later that something has happened that could have been prevented. Not trying to worry you, I just want to make sure you and baby are ok!0 -
Just thought I'd post this in all pregnancy boards so apologies if you've seen it already!
Thought I'd put this here in case anyone is looking at buying baby stuff soon:
Kiddicare has been sold by morrisons and is turning to an online only retailer. I've just been to our local kiddicare and these are the markdowns I wrote down...Everything in store only (not online) reduced by 10%-50% depending on what it is. However the online prices are what the store prices are marked down from so you can calculate the in store price using the discounts below.
all baby clothes 50% off.
Car seats and bases 25% off.
Mattresses 25% off.
Bedding sets 20% off.
Furniture 15% off.
10% off food (not including formula)
20% off highchairs
25% off toys (saw jumparoo for £55)
15% off prams
20% off baby care
between 25-50% off maternity clothes
10% off nappies.
This is in all Kiddicare stores except Peterborough and you can use the bump and babies vouchers at the till in addition to the storewide discounts.
Obviously may still work out cheaper to buy secondhand but worth going on their website and seeing if you'd be happy paying the online price minus the in store discount for something new.0
