Well little Leah Elizabeth was born at 7.45am this morning weighing 7lb 5oz. :D

It was a relatively quick but excruciating labour, but apart from the sheer agony there were no complications. Only had gas and air for the last centimetre due to circumstances and then pushing took 1 hour 15 mins with a 2nd degree tear. We're admitted as she still hasn't fed but should be home tomorrow.
Congratulations! My two didn't feed for ages at first either but once they actually did they fed fine.
  • Massive congratulations Kynthia, and what a pretty name! Glad to see the run of quick births has continued, but sorry to hear it was agony! I hope you're feeling better now and that you stitches heal nicely and quickly xxxx

Oh and hopefully she'll latch on soon, good luck with everything xxxx

Just cuddled up with my little man and checking up for baby news. Congratulations Kynthia!

I wasn't sure about TENS either but figured it wouldn't hurt to try and I've now used one in early labour twice. I honestly think it avoided me having to have heavier drugs both times, and kept me going until other options were available (pools and g&a). It does feel weird but even if you hate the slendertone things being in discomfort may well make the difference. If you don't like it then it comes off, no harm done!

Next time someone does the list (sorry, typing one handed!) can you just change my details - he was born on the 16th and despite my hubby assuring me it was 11.45am all my notes say 11.44!

  • Congratulations Kynthia! I adore her name, so pretty, hopefully she feeds soon and you're both allowed home to start getting to know each other in your own happy little world!

Becca I feel like I'll be like that once I get further up; no braxton hicks or anything exciting just a squiggly baby giving me a slightly tender lower back! She is still head down and all of her body is on my right side. Not sure how to know when she starts to engage but remember someone saying first babies can engage then come out then engage again through the final weeks...wonder if that's why I sometimes feel like I'm carrying an egg down below :S

My part time cover finally did a decent amount of work on my stuff yesterday so I think I have cracked it; send her an email the night before with stuff I want doing before I get in (she starts an hour before me) and then a list of other things which have to be completed and a third list of 'nice to get done but not as urgent' things so she knows there is more to do than she thinks. I did back off her a little for an hour as she didn't go out for lunch but made sure she still had something to be getting on with.

Was talking with a colleague yesterday about how I'm usually a winter/cold weather lover but this year can't wait for spring/summer. Its very odd as I really don't like being too warm but I figure its because we had a lovely summer filled with bbqs/salads/walks and drives last year and this year I expect similar but with baby and I'll be off so can prep stuff whilst bf is at work on a morning and then we can go places in the afternoons :-) expecting many happy times - need to sort bfs camera out and start taking lots more pictures!

Congrats Kynthia - such a lovely name too.

I'm another one really not sure about TENS, I REALLY dislike the feel of those gymbody things

Yeah that's what I thought too so I'm really happy with the price I've found to buy one as I can resell and get most of the money back if I don't like it.

Lush I love the summer and can't wait. So happy it's getting lighter in the evenings now can't stand short dark days!

Felt like I was awake half the night with hip pain, pelvic pain and then mid back pain! Rolling over was horrible. Starting to wonder how much worse it could get over the next few weeks not sure if I should see a dr, the midwife didn't seem to think there was anything they could do.
