    Morning Ladies

Excuse my ignorance but Im hearing lots about TENS machines and am wondering if it's worth investing?

I know they provide some sort of pain relief but what do you actually do with them? :o:o

Sorry 27 weeks tomorrow and still have a lot to learn! x

A TENS machine has pads that you put on your back and a small electrical current runs. You can hire them to try out as some people find them really helpful.

  • I'm thinking of hiring a tens machine... Best get on it this week. I think you can test them once you're past 37 weeks but not before.
I don't know if it will work but there's no harm in having one on standby!! :)

re the tens machine, someone (sorry cant remember who!) posted a link to this website.

That is right squ1rrel, we weren't allowed to try them out at our nct classes. We tried them out of the dads instead :D
    Apparently it can trigger labour.

They're similar to those abs belt you can buy but have separate sticky pads that you put at the bottom of your back.

Completely forgot to say that I bought myself a really comfy nursing bra yesterday but it certainly isn't the prettiest thing in the world! My mum saw it and asked if it was the old one. :D If it stays comfortable after my milk comes in I'll get another one but I do wish that they made larger sized bras that are either completely plain - like a good t-shirt bra - or didn't try to cover you up to the neck!

I haven't got a TENS this time as I didn't find it helped with DS but I know some people swear by it for pain relief.

I think Im going to hire one if I can get one for about £25, the only thing that makes me think I wont like it is someone told me its a bit like one of those slender tone machines type feeling and when my mum bought one of those I tried it for a laugh and hated it. So I guess we'll see. Ive read loads of people saying that just the distractions of pushing the buttons helped though!

Think I might see if I can just buy a bra extender, the 36 bras feel great around my rib cage but the cups on some are just a bit sort of tall on me, but 34s are too tight but the cups are better so thinking I could just buy an extender for the 34s I bought, and wear the 36s as I get bigger.
