scotsbride, the diabetic consultant has discharged me but I still need to do another week of testing 32-33 before my 34 week scan. Guess they just can't help themselves. I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago so don't actually eat too much sweet food or carbs I'm mostly on a protein and veggie diet which I guess helps make my sugar levels well controlled. Last hb1ac was below 5 which was better than the consultants himself.

Just had a 35 week scan (now 35 +4) and have and 37 week appointment. Also a date for induction. Like you I'm mostly protein and veggie diet but fruit sugars send reading sky high and that's what I crave and miss terribly! I meant to ask what is hb1ac I know I had one at the 35 wk apt but wasn't quite sure what it was for or what it means!

Pleased to say that my decision to refuse induction wasn't met by resistance from either the diabetic consultant nor my usual high risk consultant. I've agreed to go in for a scan and CTG monitoring on baby on Friday. Then back on Tuesday for more CTG monitoring on baby and a sweep.

Midwife tried and failed to do a sweep today as cervix still not favourable but she did have a good poke around so I'm quite happy and don't feel like crying.

OH is not at all amused and has told me I'm putting baby at risk (delaying him booking his jolly I think is what he really means) but I'm prepared to consider induction next week as I appreciate its risky to baby for me to go too far overdue!

Hope everybody is having a good day!
_ I got a date for induction which is 5 days before my due date and have been offered a S&S first. my consultant won't let me go much passed 39 weeks maybe your consultant is thinking the same

    Aqua that's great positive news.

I've spent today tidying things up in our spare room. I discovered Oh had filled it up with all sorts of randoms stuff - toys, clean clothes, craft stuff, pictures DD has done, just all kinds of crap from around the house that he "tidies up" then dumps in the spare room!

So I sorted most of it out and told him we could finish it on Saturday ready for baby stuff to go in.

I just went to the loo upstairs and he has filled the bathroom with boxes from the loft! We have nowhere to put them till the spare room is clear! !!!!!! is he thinking?!?! I feel very stressed by it :(

It feels like every step forward I make in getting organised, he screws up by doing something "helpful" without discussing it with me first.

I have my SPD physio session tomorrow at the hospital. It's a group session so not sure what it will entail. Hoping its useful.

Iv'e also cleared out all my email folders and I found my old birth plan! So I've been able to just rejig it for this birth which is great. Saves me a loaad of work. If anyone would like me to share it then I'm happy to, it may be useful. :)

Oh yeah, the lollipop lady at school has started trying to guess my due date because I won;t tell anyone and instead am just saying I am in thedue window. I find it really rude! If I wanted people to know then I would tell them!

OH is back from Tesco now with shopping and chocolate to appease me because he is going out to watch the football, better go tackle him about these boxes!
I love this my Hubby is the same concrete bags in frount of the washing machine or oven instead of living room. NB to OHs moving stuff from one room to the next isn't tidying or putting things away! it's driving us nuts. It belongs in the shed if it doesn't fit in the shed then you need to clear out shed and get rid of things so it does!

I think a hba1c is the blood test that checks for long term glucose deposits in the body? I think it helps them to find out if the diabetes was around before the pregnancy?

purcy, you're right your hb1ac is your average sugar level for about 6mths I think. mine was 4.8 ish last time it was checked which is well within normal levels. They say you're diabetic if it's over 7 though they do keep moving the goal posts so that may have changed.

    Hope things are well Aqua....

I finally had my physio appointment today for my shoulder pain, only 8 weeks after going to the docs about it. I came out in more pain than I went in and ended up finishing work more than an hour early today because of a sore back and head. Was in bed for 4pm and managed to get an hours sleep.

Read the riot act with the 15 year old, summer holidays and he sits in the house all day on his laptop with the curtains closed and then had the cheek to post on facebook that today has been a s**t day. He's lucky it's me that had words and not his dad!
Until he moved in with us 6 weeks ago he hasn't had any structure to his life for the last few years, tomorrow he will find that the router is missing it's power cable and he has been warned that he will get the laptop for one hour a day, when I decide to give it to him! I think he has finally realised that we're not a pair of pushovers and won't stand for any nonsense!

I went back to bed after that!

Bit too late to be questioning if I want to go through all this for myself eh?! Lol

Had my 28 days midwife appointment today...wee all good, bp has gone up quite a bit but it's normally low and is still in the "normal" range so she isn't worried. I did tell her about my house move saga just before so I am sure that didn't help :rotfl:

She measured my bump and it was spot on 28cm at 28 weeks so feeling happy as I had a slight worry that it was small compared to the other ladies at Lazy Daisy the other night.

    Whooping cough jab tomorrow.

Big hugs to all the ladies needing them at the moment xx
  • Sorry still not read back. Just to let you all know our little princess was born late last night 10th July. I'll update more when I'm feeling a bit better as have lost a lot of blood, baby doing well so far, I'm sure I'll be feeling better soon. I got my VBAC :) x
