  • I've managed a trip to the pub for lunch (OH being off work too is not very MSE friendly on our budget), a walk round the M&S foodhall and a walk round a massive Tesco. Started having braxton hicks 10 minutes apart while walking around but typically they stopped as soon as I sat down.

The last 2 days I've had to have an afternoon nap about 3pm, still feel fine but getting tired very easily now.

vicstick my bump is very uncomfortable and heavy now. Walking is fine but the bump does feel heavy.

Hope you're not overdoing things T2D

WTDN I had several VE's by several midwives and consultants whilst I was in labour with DS (prior to the c-section) and I didn't find it that bad. Apparently when I was induced by pessary I did text all my friends (who knew) with the words 'I have just been violated'. It is a personal choice though and you are entitled to refuse if it's not what you want.

Lemon Tree yay for getting the nursery done.
  • Apologies for all I've forgotten.

Robots - positive baby thoughts coming your way if they help him/her on hisher way!

Skintchick - I found that plan SO helpful. Things I'd thought about and agree or disagree as well as things I didn't know about :T

lailap hope the house all goes ahead.

tcod - how exciting to have a date and getting this far! It used to be bad to be the youngest but now they get the free hours based on age and starting school is staggered it's much less relevant.

AFM had VERY hectic week so far with appraisal and presentation. Then woke up at 1.30am on Monday night with bad tummy ache (maybe 5 or 6 out of 10). Automatically put hand to tummy and him indoors was lying transverse just there. After an hour of trying to get comfortable, I gave up and went to the sitting room. Finally after going on all fours and then lowering my head to my hands but keeping my bottom in the air the pain eased a lot. I stayed like that off and on for an hour and then went back to bed so that was 4 and a half hours sleep the night before the presentation. The pain was then there until 6pm on Tuesday evening when I took paracetemol and we googled/prodded me and agreed it was him being transverse. So we took the decision for me to put my hands on the floor, while leaving my legs on the bed and after only 5-10 mins the pain went again and has only just come back just under 24 hours later.

My little Mr Man is still moving/kicking/pattering (including trying to knock the tablet off me just now when reading!) so am assuming he is all ok. just going to keep lurching off the side of the bed to move him before going to sleep and can cope with it the rest of the time so long as he keeps moving.

Urgh. On a sweet note, work is arranging a little lunchtime baby shower for me in September so looking forward to that.

Sleep. Likely to be rubbish poster this week but finding all posts as interesting as ever.

Hi everyone. I seem to be lagging behind in the posting these days, although I am trying to keep up it's not easy as I'm usually in bed about 9pm these days and on Sunday I barely seemed to be out of bed!!!

Grateful to skintchick for posting the birthing plan, I currently still have blank pages where I'm to fill that in and I have no idea what I actually want.
Finally told work that I want to stay right up until 3rd October but that will depend on how exhausted I am with travelling to and fro the other site. They were on the phone today, they're putting another desk in for me and asked if I want to take the chair I've got or they get me a new one, foot rest, anything else that I want! I could really go to town to make myself comfortable over there. In all seriousness they have a concrete floor and even though it's carpeted in the summer I still get cold feet and since I'm struggling with socks I'm considering taking a pair of slippers over to keep my feet warm!!!

Finally getting over the body image thing and last night while hubby was in the bath I grabbed a tape measure and went through. Where I used to have a 30-31 inch waist, in the same area around the bump it was 40 inches (which had gone back to 38 this morning). I think that my hips have only gone up by an inch but my bust around the fullest used to measure 38 and now it's 43! I only hope that I can get back into my old lovely bras and I don't need to replace all of them!

    hi all

thanks for all the birth plan info, very helpful, although the VE description has terrified me!

Tcod i cant believe you might be having your baby then - that's just round the corner! Ahhh!!!

Don't be too terrified! I had three (including one done by a rather over enthusiastic consultant!) and I found that they were uncomfortable but not too painful (especially in the context of labour!). I think it depends on the person and the midwife, in the same way that some people find sweeps uncomfortable and others find them really painful and intrusive.

I refuse to watch One Born Every Minute but have just made the mistake of watch She's Having A Baby on Sky living. I'm not sure whether to cringe in pain or carry on howling!!!

It was on 107. Said it was just a new programme following 2 women tonight, one who was 27 and planned to be a SAHM and the other a high flying head of corporate services who was having her second, working right up until due and going for the hypnobirthing....at 12 days overdue having been in hospital for 3 days and induced she ended up having an emergency section. All the best laid plans and all that.....not sure if it's a series or not but I won't be rushing to watch again! Lol

  • Told manager today that will need to move mat leave forward. I was considering leaving it and making them roll my annual leave over but OH convinced me that it might be nice to rest before hand and now I'm looking forward to it (in a headless chicken, apprehensive, panic kind of way!). My last day is Tuesday 5th August. Between now and then I'm only in for 13 days! I can't quite get my head around the idea that I'll be leaving work on that day and not going back for over a year!

WTDN- I can't get my head around the fact that baby will be here- much sooner than I thought. It's actually real! This thread IS scary! Just like I suspected! :) We were looking at tiny baby clothes yesterday but can't really decide whether or not to buy any until we get a bit closer to the end...

Robots, I hope that baby gets a wiggle on for you. Just don't judge yourself by your mum's standards and experiences. I'm sure you'll be a brilliant mum regardless of how you get baby. I hope you get baby your way though. xx

Lemon- am officially jealous. Fancy doing my nursery? :)

To all of our ladies waiting to go into labour- I hope it happens soon for you all! xx

    hi ladies

i've been having tightenings every 15 mins since 5am this morning which is very unusual for me ! Took a bath which didnt make them stop. But they're not painful, just uncomfortable, so i guess the wait begins !! OH panicked this morning but now he's gone out to do some digging in the garden which has calmed him down ! Really hope this is the beginning of something ... you ladies who have alreadybeen through childbirth, do you think these tightenings will transform into proper contractions ??
