Monty, I'm with you on the pains, I was doubled over yesterday while I waited on a topper to pass, thankfully it didn't take too long.

Lilmiss, I'm just glad I'm not the only one that felt like that, I think I was just having the lowest of low days and things have perked up since then, today I felt a bit carp but was too busy at work to dwell on it. I'm gonna head to bed soon so I don't get too tired again.

Daisie, I pm'd you my email address but haven't received an invite to the fb group :(

Knicker debate, I'm still wearing shorties but have increased a size, it's only a matter of time before I need to go up again though!

  • firey hope you get to meet your little girl soon. There were loads of other heavily pregnant women at the TC when I went earlier, I think we must all have the same idea about walking about there! I didn't notice anybody looking at me though.

Lemon Tree hope baby turns round the right way for you. I wanted to work until 39 weeks when expecting DS, I lasted until 29 weeks ha ha, I don't think I realised how hard it would be especially towards the end, but my first pregnancy was awful. This time I lasted until 34 weeks at work but it's been a much easier pregnancy.

Robots glad that you were able to have a strech and sweep and that you've started dilating, hopefully things will get moving before Saturday for you. I notice that they like to use statistics a lot to persuade you to have an induction. One of my statistics (due to previous c-section) is that I've got a 2% of my scar rupturing if I have a natural labour, but if I'm induced the risk is higher, yet they want me to be induced! My baby's placenta is a valid concern but if they monitor her daily it will soon become apparent if she's distressed, so why increase my chances of rupture. I couldn't give a monkey's about their statistics, I want to be assessed on the actual situation as it is at that moment of time not based on averages.
OH isn't really in agreement with me refusing induction, I think he's still traumatised that everything went wrong with DS' birth, he better not have the 'power' to overrule me, he's down as my next of kin on all my forms but I think he can only make the decision if I'm not concious/coherent enough (I hope).

hope you get your sicknote sorted purcy.

daisie I'll send you a PM to join the FB group.

I have a high bump, apparently, so have not changed knicker size yet. I wear shorts style and do not intend on getting maternity knickers.

Everyone seems to be going through it at the moment. I hope everyone feels better soon. Sorry, my mind is fuzzy so I don't remember specifics. AFM, on Sunday I had about 12 hours out of breath and a lot of that I had heart palpitations. Today has been much better, I've only had about 5 hours of breathlessness.

Hello ladies. I've just spent the last two hours at the hospital. I just couldn't settle with the stomach pains and it turns out I've a uti.
I've been given antibiotics and told I can take paracetamol and codeine. I turned the codeine down as it makes me constipated and is don't need that on top!
I'm glad I listened to my body and went. Got to hear baby on the Doppler and it's very happy In there.

    I shattered now :)
  • Aqua- your oh can't overule you unless they don't believe you have mental capacity or you're unable to consent to treatment (knocked out etc.) Try not to worry about that!

Peonie- is your doctor/ mw aware of the palpitations/ breathlessness? If so I hope they can do something to ease it for you. If not please let them know asap! I have an arrythmia that causes palpitations. Some things that can stop them are splashing ice cold water on your face and holding your breath. Might do b*gger all for you though if it's caused by your anaemia.

Got to go to the hospital tomorrow for a full detailed scan on baby to make sure placenta, cord and organs are functioning properly. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about it just in case but I don't think they'll find anything wrong.

    Hope everyone's ok. Xxx

MrsC - send me your email address for FB.

    - I think I also have a high bump. They 'fundus' is high, but I'm still able to wear pretty much all my old clothes. I tended to wear things a bit loose anyway. The midwife today said that it may be because of all the surgery it has pushed up the position and so it's a lot less down in my pelvis. Makes sense and might be why my uterus is high, but my bump isn't bumpy. I feel like the baby is spreadeagled against my abdomen!

Purcy - glad the body image bit is going ok at least! I have good and bad days. I went for relexology today (lovely!) and the salon know me from appointments in the past. The lady said - you've not put on much weight, and no puffy face yet. It was nice, but it did remind me that I wouldn't care either way. Been a long wait for this baby, so I try not to care what it does to me.

(However, I'm kidding myself a bit. I still don't like people touching and measuring me)

AFM today I went for a cervical scan. I was pretty nervous as the last two have seen rapid reduction in length, but it was stable today which was great. I feeling a bit more confident now that we will get close to term. The doctor was so lovely - she said the C-Section would be done by a senior consultant for sure, partially because I am an interesting case, but also as they love to be there when people like me (cancer, IVF etc) get to the point of having a baby. It was reassuring.

She said if I was doing this 20 or even 15 years ago I wouldn't have had a chance. So I'm lucky in lots of ways.

So 26 wonderful weeks today! It's not all been easy, but just got to keep my feet up and wait while time moves slowly on.

CongratulationsSunshine!! Looking forwward to reading your birth story (do we still use the birth stories thread?)

Monty - hugs for you and healing vibes

Lemon - have you been on Spinning Babies? Worked for me with DD she was breech till 37 weeks.

AFM - I have just moved up from size 10-12 thongs to size 14-16! Scary jump in size but SOOoooo comfy!

Saw MW today for HB booking. Baby is still head down, very well, bump measuring spot on, and MW thinks it's a girl despite slow heartbeat. The other MW thought that too I hope so! I'd love another girl.

I see the MW from teh specialist team for my antenatal depression tomorrow. Think I will cry all over her but guess she's used to that.

Got the referral for physio through and it is on Wednesdays only at 2pm for 90 minutes. How am I supposed to do school pick-up? Every clinc at my hospital seems to run over school pick-up time yet loads of pregnant women will have children already! It's crazy! Luckily OH can work from hom and manage his own time but lots of women are not that lucky. I'm going to mention it when I attend the Maternity Services Liaison Committee Meeting later this month.

I am so busy working - my business has just started taking off at the moment when I need to stop for a bit! Typical! I'm up to my eyes in alterations and while I love it (and the money) I nreally need to try and stop and get on with my baby blanket - at this rate it will not be finished.

Hi TCD, the doctor is aware of the breathlessness but not the palpitations. That only started after my appointment with her on Thursday. She did say say I have a slight arrhythmia, the breathlessness is from the anemia and my symptoms are extreme. I'm still taking the iron tablets and waiting for the consultants appointment. Thanks for the tips, I'll try them and good luck at your scan tomorrow.

T2D, woohoo your cervix has not gone shorter (that's something I never thought I'd say). I'm happy a senior consultant will do your op. Keep your legs up.

SC, good luck at your appointment tomorrow.
