that's funny aquamarine as me and my OH are planning on going to the Trafford centre tonight, I said the same about it involving lots of walking, hehe! not sure where to go for tea yet though :)

AFM...still here. 1 week overdue now. I'm trying to think positively and think even if I do have to go in for induction, whatever I have to go through...I still get to meet my little girl that I've waited so long for so it'll be worth it. well, I'm trying to think that anyway!

went to see my community midwife today, and baby has moved :) she's now back to breach :( still she's got plenty of time for spinning around to the correct position. Midwife doesn't think i'll be working all the way to 39 weeks which was my original plan, and a conclusion I came to last week.
got a breastfeeding course thing on Friday, whooping cough jab next Friday and my antenatal course booked in for a day in August, so a few things ticked off my list.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Hello everyone.

I'm having lots of pulled muscle typ pain today just above my bikini line. So much so I've not dared do much for fear of making it worse. My mum said it's stretching pains and unless they change to sharp actual pains rather than dull ache and discomfort not much I can do other than take some paracetamol, have a warm drink and put my feet up. :(
  • Late joiner to knicker debate - I just buy increasingly bigger pairs of minis personally.

Mrs C - hope you gathered from your post that rather than setting something else you just encouraged us to get stuff of our chest! That moment of it feeling worth it when it's all over still seems a long way away while at the same time alarmingly close. Don't know where else we could do it!

Lemontree - glad to hear you are getting some time off, if as sick time. Pg is a funny old one. I can empathise with wanting to keep going but sounds like your body is saying no thanks. Sounds likel plenty of time yet for little one to change position.

AFM I went to antenatal hydro again and enjoyed bobbing around. I have instituted a new rule with DH whereby we have to turn off or put to the side all electronic devices after 9pm so might be a bit hit and miss on here when we're busy. Just had enough time to read yesterday but not reply!

    Congrats sunshine! :T

Hugs to Daisy, Lemon, TeaCake, Monty.... Well, everyone who wants/needs one!

teacake - gosh! That's a lot to take in, sounds like you're handling everything really well though. Hope you're doing ok.

Huge congratulations sunshine, I've been thinking of you, I'm so very happy for you :)

Monty, I've had those pains. Whilst worrying is normal, they were too. Midwife called them stretching pains or engagement pains, depending on how far along I was.
I've just been googling 'positive induction stories' to see if it made me feel any better which it did a tiny bit...but also has made me worried because a lot of the stories mention how their OH had to go home as it can take a long time, this has made me a bit upset :( blah...should probably stop googling things.

Their rules about sending husbands home really upsets me too. When I was in for 3 days at 27wks the lady opposite me was induced, her fella was sent home at night, then again only 2hrs after the birth   the midwives thought it was good policy to give her some peace.. As if! she was upset, in pain & had no support. & no sleep as either her baby kept her up or the other mums/babies did :(:( I'd seriously want to discharge myself!
It's one reason I'm terrified of induction.

firey, is it a funny mind set for you to go from 'protective, stay in there' to 'come on hurry up & come out now?' It is for me!
Robots I think your knitting needle like pains are braxton Hicks as that's what they've said mine are!

    Aqua - re your consultant visit - go you! :T:T that's excellent proactive-ness :D.

    I'm really inspired by you.
...you sound a bit like me, or at least what I wish I has been able to say at my consultant appointment if I hadn't been ambushed. I did say similar to my midwife today.

It's reassuring to hear the sensations I've been having are quite possibly BHs :)

    ---
Midwife came round today to take my BP (very fine) & do a S&S... Which she was able to fully do as my cervix was more favourable today :)

And you know what? There was no pain, it wasn't even uncomfortable, just a bit odd. But I could feel a definite stretching & moving sensation. Phew. She actually commented I had great breathing & relaxing control (yay Lazy Daisy!). I'm now 2cm dilated. Back on the ball for me...

Induction is apparently planned for sat 9am... I'm not convinced. I asked my midwife why, if they were so worried about me getting pre-E, were they not having my BP & urine checked daily, and why haven't they done a blood test for liver and kidney function yet?

She couldn't answer that & suggested I speak to a consultant or registrar when I go in on Saturday. I commented that might be a bit late and she said to discuss it with them. I don't want an induction if it's not medically absolutely necessary I'm not a statistic Im me. If they do the tests and find out I have pre-eclampsia and baby needs to be whipped out I wouldn't even argue with a C section unless it's necessary then it's not necessary.

    **
Anyway on a brighter note it was my last Lady Daisy birthing class of the term last night and therefore my last one :( as we did the sun salutations and bought our arms down to cradle our bumps to rock baby to sleep before the guided meditation, I felt very teary. That's the last time she will ask me to do that and soon I'll be holding baby in my own arms and rocking baby to sleep for real :o:)

    40+2

  • Oh, & THANKYOU for adding me to the fb group. I'm a bit overwhelmed as I can't remember who is who from the top intros list & everyone seems to 'know' each other there already. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but wanted to explain why I'm not posting there.

Oooh important things first I've moved from a size 12/14 thong to giant sized 18/20 granny pants and boy are they comfy!

I really thought I'd struggle with my self image in pregnancy as I've never been very confident but I've never liked my body more than I do now, pendulous boobs and stretch marks notwithstanding! I'm growing a new person and as difficult as it is and painful its so amazing that my body is finally doing what its meant to do.

TBH I'm having a carp pregnancy between the spd, carpal tunnel and gestational diabetes not to mention 14 weeks of horrific morning sickness. Oh and the acid reflux, constipation and giant clown feet! It's not a glamorous thing is it? I love it though, maybe I'm a bit odd!

Been a bit upset today though as I went to pick up my sick note from the doctors today as arranged and she hasn't sorted it so I'm going to have to self certify until its sorted. I know its not the end of the world but I just wanted to have it all sorted so I can rest. Grrrr

    Hugs to all x

To be completely honest, apart from one or two people, I still have to check the list to remind myself who everyone is! :o you should post, we are all very friendly :)

robots - yes it is! it's so strange because iv always been told (because of a dodgy cervix ha!) that I might not be able to carry a baby full term so I was always worried I would go into premature labour. turns out it's super strong instead, so strong the midwife couldn't even do a sweep ha! glad yours was okay, I felt the same it wasn't painful at all just odd.

I'm the same with the Facebook group I recognise 3 or 4 names and I have to check the post at the top for the rest! some people aren't on the list though which confuses me, hehe. I do like posting though :)

just been out to TGI Fridays for tea and it was YUM. it was busy though and for some reason I feel like everybody is looking at me thinking how huge I am :-/ but then again I also think iv got a full sized baby inside me so why wouldn't I be huge ha...
