Cmace- you made me look at Derby's queue jump completely differently! Now am horrified at idea baby could be here in 5 weeks! Need to get a wiggle on and make sure that baby has somewhere to sleep!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I called my insurance company last night to tell them. I let them know about her accident yesterday- annoyed at myself that I didn't take pictures of the existing damage and a non-close up of the back of her car. The lady I spoke to was lovely and recorded it all on system. Taking my car to the garage tomorrow to have them give it the once over. It only just passed its MOT so if there is engine damage then it'll be from yesterday. I've taken pictures of my car too to show what i've done to it.
I woke up totally fine today- no back/ neck pain or anything. Will also go to my GP tomorrow to 'log' accident and lack of injury. MW said to see if they'll sign me off for a week as I was still in bits yesterday- just so worried about baby and finances now i've gone and done this! Feel like I should go to work but my head's in bits- oh wants me to stay off and so does mum. MW is also booking a scan to check cervix length to make sure that i've not started anything off and i'm on knicker watch. Literally just been to loo and had a tiny spot of blood when wiped. Will get anti-d either tonight or tomorrow when bloods come back. Urgh- what a carp weekend.0 -
Massive congrats Derby! He clearly couldn't wait to meet his mum x Hope you both continue to do well.
Hugs TCOD what an absolute horrid woman she sounds to be hopefully if you get the insurance involved you can scupper her nasty antics. Hugs for the spotting hun glad your midwife is taking good care of you though, I'm sorry your having such a worrying time and I hope your scan goes well x
I'm having a day of rest today after getting told off by DH yesterday for lifting our amazon delivery into the house ooops. He was in the bathroom at the time so I just got on with it and spent the rest of the day feeling really sore.
Bless him he had "stern" words with me about remembering my limitations! I've always been really independent and self reliant and I'm struggling to give that up and become dependant is it just me or is anyone else having this problem? I can't just sit and be looked after.
Only 4 weeks left at work now, they've told me I can do shorter days if I need to and just log them as a full day on my time sheet , and I probably should as I'm completely shattered, but I can't bring myself to do it! What the heck is wrong with me?
Anyway rant over! Hugs to all

I'm the same purcy. OH caught me up a ladder the other day and gave me such a b*llocking! He is genuinely the least handy man in the world though so i've just got used to getting on with doing stuff. Find it quite frustrating that people conspire to stop me!
I wish my work would offer short days but can see why it'd be difficult to take up. I'd worry about the impact it'd have on my workmates but soon i'm probably not going to be able to do as much anyway as I won't fit into the lab clothes.
Also think you need to practice your ranting skillslol. Most civil 'rant' ever award goes to Purcy!

He he I'm quite a mellow person but I'll try harder next time x
Thats what I worry about with sloping off early letting down my team mates. I've already had my afternoon appointments taken off me so I'm not running around so much so all I'm doing in the afternoon is admin often for other people cos I feel guilty.
I know work have been great organising private physio for me and being totally over protective but it's because I'm classed as high risk because of my gestational diabetes and I do appreciate it but I'm also finding it a little humiliating and embarrassing to have such a fuss made!
I can't believe nobody has thought to make maternity lab clothes yet! hmmmmmm could be a future joint business enterprise? lol0 -
Oh tcod I am so sorry this has happened to you, what an obnoxious woman! Glad your midwife is keeping a close eye on you and I agree you should take the week off work (you can self certify for up to 7 days, no doctor's note required). Poor you - take it easy and let OH take care of you! Xx0

Congratulations Derby!
Really pleased to hear your news Mrs T_M
Had a house full of plasterers and plaster dust yesterday, so DH and I spent over an hour cleaning up afterwards. We had to have a polite rant at the plasterers today as they have damaged two of our finished kitchen cabinets by standing a door frame against them, and knocking them over. £300 per cabinet, though one is repairable as it's just paint. the other has a twisted frame. Ultimately though they are sub contractors so we've left a message for the building firm who've employed them, to get them to sort out the cost.
I'm not good at resting either. Off to Seville tomorrow until Friday for a conference, giving a presentation too, eek! Need to get packed today.
I've not found it too much of a problem with lab clothes as we have spare lab coats around, and I can usually find a really big one to fit! I'm trying to be more office based though, and just writing papers up over this summer. I have a couple of students doing a research project for me instead
That bump sounds scary TCD. I'm glad you're OK. I've had a couple of rear end shunts before, it really is horrible being in any kind of accident even when not pg. Sounds like you're doing all the right things with insurance x0 -
Congratulations Derby :j:j0

Congrats Derby! Blimey it all gets real on here.
TCOD - can only echo what everyone else has said. What a witch that woman is.
Congrats Mrs TM!
My work is a game of two halves. Long story but a patient (in NHS) threatened two members of staff with a knife at the doorway when they turned up for a pre-arranged physio appt. One minute we were discharging him without treatment now we have to see him albeit in a clinic instead. One manager has assumed I'll be seeing him (ha ha) but my other manager has flatly declared that there is no level of risk acceptable for me and the baby and he is winning so feel very supported. Work is a funny one - I struggled to keep up in the first trimester but luckily could use leave to have 4 days weeks. From 31 weeks I'll go down to 4 days weeks, weeks 35 and 36 will be 3 days weeks and then I am off.
Daisiegg - so sorry to hear you were feeling ill the ohter day. Hope you are feeling better now.Met DH to be 2010
