  • Sorry been awol for a while. Congratulations on the births I've missed, must be lovely to have your little ones.

I really don't want to moan but the last couple of days I've felt awful, waking up feeling sick, having to take Rennies in the evening as getting bad heartburn/indigestion, seem to have a numb area around my stomach area and generally just feeling fed up. Have had my 31 week midwife appointment and everything is ok and babies head is already down. I was planning on working until 36 weeks but being a nurse it just hasn't been possible so spoke to my boss and I'm now finishing at 34 weeks so only have 2 weeks left.

Seems like others aren't getting much sleep generally feeling a bit rubbish? Hope you all start to feel better soon.

By 32 weeks have others packed their hospital bags?

Sorry to wade in ladies but I am having a fashion related panic!
I have a wedding next week & having doubts about the dress. Mainly the cost & my mum as well as a colleague think it's too 'fitted'

I paid £75 for it but I see it's reduced further but none left in my size :-(

Any ideas where I can try to get another dress? Maybe £30 or so? I've already ordered from next, asos & new look but none were suitable.
I want something relatively fitted that doesn't make my bum looker bigger than my bump if you know what I mean? Oh and it must be maxi - feet & ankles are a mess :rotfl:

Well, I think that dress is lovely CC, how old is your colleague? Is it a generational thing where all maternity clothes were tents?! I'm sure you look lovely in it. Try and remember the reasons why you chose it in the first place - elegant, stylish, long (hiding those ankles ;) ), lovely colour. I don't think it is "too fitted" at all.

If you are still concerned, have a look at ebay - usually find some good bargains on there.

Lots of love 'n' hugs whatever you decide.

  • Welcome back MrsT_M x

Teaandcake I had a 3 Dr ibiza for the first few months was a bit of a pain but was doable. Maybe go try a few out at mothercare and see how they feel. Bring some potatoes to.add weight to the seat.
    Ours was isofix

Also, I'm back! Got a bfp last Tuesday. Had a tlp on Monday, which was Dale's due date. Doing my best to take things one day at a time and enjoy every little niggle. I'm another who is on low dose aspirin per consultant's orders. As long as we can avoid blood clots, everything should be fine this time. :)

Oh Mrs T! I'm so very very happy for you and your hubby!! :j

I've actually just burst into tears of joy for you. That's such lovely news. I've been thinking of you often, esp as Dale's due date approached.

  • Righto, I've Finally seen my midwife!

Thanks to your encouragement I phoned the hospital this morning & she was there so we talked! She'd been on holiday then ill, then said "it's no bother, you're 36wks". When I said I was now 38+6 she said she'd be right over for a home visit!!

Good news :) - baby is 3/5 engaged, so not imminent but getting ready :)
    - the pains I've been having are "engagement pains" - prob made worse by my birth defect, but not directly due to it :) (which bodes better for natural labour)
    - still normal-for-me BP, no indicators of pre-eclampsia.
    - baby still measuring bang on average
    - my weight is still really low (technically obese b4 pgcy so this is good)

I know things could still change but I'm very happy right now.

Only worry - she doesn't know re continuing the Aspirin or not (she couldn't find out)... But told me to keep taking it as reducing clotting risk is more urgent than stemming bleeding after birth. Ok doke.

    Ahh, I'm relieved.

  • Blo ody awful day. First day in third trimester and I manage to bump my car into another driver. I was so upset and angry at myself. Been sleeping terribly and just had a blip of concentration at traffic lights. Was only doing about 5mph (no more than 10- i was about 2 metres behind her when I started driving and braked as soon as I hit her) Only damage I photographed on other ladies car was that I'd bent her towbar. My front reg plate is cracked down middle and plastic bumper behind it cracked.

Thing is though is that straight away she got out of car complaining about her neck and lower back (so you know how this is going already!). When I went round the drivers rear side of her car it was all damaged- she'd reversed into a pole yesterday but hadn't contacted her insurer about it yet. Told me she'd report it at same time as the bump. Exchanged details and everything but now she's saying that her rear light is also cracked- not sure how on earth i've done that and suspect it's from her bump yesterday but obviously no way of proving it and that there was the potential the towbar bump (it's a bit bent and will apparently cost £300 to replace) has damaged the petrol tank. More upsettingly she's also saying her little girl is complaining of a sore neck. I really hope that 1. Her little girl is fine and that 2. She's just trying to scam me! I'll never forgive myself if i've hurt a child!

Asked her if she'd consider going outside insurance (I have 9 years no claims unprotected, am skint and have a £650 excess!) but fear that I won't be able to afford the bill she's going to lamp me with. Am so upset and angry. I really don't have the cash for this or for any future insurance rises so looks like I'll probably have to get rid of the car altogether.

MW came to mine to check me and baby over and am so thankful that everything ok. Took bloods and will come back to give me anti-d incase i've had a mini internal bleed.

I'm so upset. It's my first ever accident driving (had license 10 years) and I don't know what to do with myself. My back is a bit sore but it was when I got up this morning so not convinced The speed was enough to cause the pain she's claiming. Don't get me wrong- it was my fault and I will put right the damage i've caused but the situation seems murky at best...

teaandcakeordeath Sorry to hear about your rubbish day but glad you and bump are OK. That women sounds a bit dodge if you ask me.

sunshine81 That mould spray is amazing! Did the trick on my washing machine, thanks for the recommendation!

I've also cleaned out the garage today and defrosted my freezer. Hubby wonders what has come over me as I spent all of last week sat on the sofa complaining of being knackered.
