robots if you can't get hold of your midwife and need urgent advice then ring Maternity Triage at your hospital. That's what I've been told to do if I'm unsure about anything important (not just if I think I'm going into labour).0

Urgh. 6th day in a row that i've woken at my new witching hour of 4am- not falling asleep until 1am on average. It's doing my head in! Back in work on Monday and already worried about how tired i'm going to be! I miss zopiclone *sob*.0

Re midwife apps... I've not had one in forever. She's cancelled on me the last two weeks
I've texted her, called the main office & asked for a phonecall app. But no success. It's bugging me. I really want to check I'm still supposed to be taking aspirin daily (nhs website says yes, but I vaguely recall hearing till 36wks as it thins blood so not great post-labour)
And I want to ask her about the odd tingling in my arms & hands when I inhale sharply. It lasts only a second. Googling hasn't helped, there's no info out there
Delurking, but I was told by my consultant to discontinue my aspirin (75mg) at 36 weeks for that precise reason, so definitely worth chasing up if you can xTeam Pink! Baby girl due 25/5/140 -

How far along are you tea cake?
I don't want to worry you, but I've been waking between 4 & 5am for about 2mths now. Sometimes needling a wee, but mostly for no reason.
As of last week there's a 2am wake as well.... I think perhaps my body/hormones preparing me for waking to feed baby?
Thanks Aqua & Stsarina, I guess I hate being a bother.Delurking, but I was told by my consultant to discontinue my aspirin (75mg) at 36 weeks for that precise reason, so definitely worth chasing up if you can x
Umm, yes that's what I wondered. Nhs website says opposite though.
Problem is the consultant who put me on it induced a panic attack & hospitalised me... And was So Useless she didn't actually fill out my notes!

Laila, you can use bleach, I used it to wash my cheap shower curtain (you need 2 cups of bleach) plus it cleans the washing machine at the same time.
I have also used a white vinegar and soda crystals http://www.dri-pak.co.uk/laundry-cleaning-tips/clean-your-washing-machine.html#.U6VAnX-9KK0 but you have to give the machine an extra rinse after these instructions to get rid of the vinegar smell.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

ahh I feel for you! we referred to it as the 5am club on here for a while, ha, it's very common! I used to wake up between 4-5 every morning and then id be wide awake, its so hard when you have to work though. towards the end at work I used a few annual leave days or time owing to catch up on sleep!
mine went away for a while and I was actually sleeping through (minus lots of loo trips in the night) but for the last few days iv woke up at 4.30am. but I'm on maternity leave so I can nap in the day! which isn't so bad.
midwife appointment yesterday, same old really. blood pressure still a bit high but just have to look out for signs of pre-eclampsia (headaches, swelling etc) of which iv had none. she said baby's head is well down now (3/5 engaged). it's just a waiting game argh!

5am is when our alarm goes off anyway during the week! At weekends I seem to be waking up around 5.47 (very specific I know!) but can usually get back to sleep after going to the loo. Not sure why I am not having to wee very much....I usually go all night without having to get up. Uterus has definitely moved/grown upwards because yesterday I was feeling kicks a few inches above my belly button. Also my horrible B bump now has a much bigger bottom than top lol...the 'crease' is moving upwards. I hope it disappears altogether soon!
My sympathies are with those who can't sleep thoughfor a few weeks in the first trimester I was waking at 2am each night with horrible diarrhoea. I hated it - I can't cope without enough sleep!

Good morning ladies,
Hope every one is alright and bumps are growing nicely!
We bought a cot, mattress and some nursery furniture from Ikea last night, so that is OH's job for today!
I still have a huge shopping list of things I still need, but at least now we have some furniture I will have somewhere to put it all away! I just need a blind and some curtains for baby's room now.
This weekend's task is ordering mattresses- one for the moses basket we have borrowed and one for the car safe carry cot (as we live in a three story house I figure that will do for a downstairs sleeping place initially), mattress covers and sheets for everything.
It is all starting to feel scarily real now- I am 30+3 today. I was born early, as were both my brothers (one at 33 weeks) so I feel I need to be at least nearly ready soon, just in case. I had a panic last weekend that we had nothing ready, hence the panic and flurry of shopping this week!0 -
I'm 28 weeks today. I just assumed my insomnia was rearing its ugly head but seems this is common!
I don't finish work until 25th August- only got three full weeks in work up until then though, 2 full weeks off and apthe rest are 4 day weeks. I have a 'stash' of 10 a/l days that I argued with my boss to carry over so I really don't want to eat into them but if the sleep thing continues I might have to which is a pita! I have to concentrate in my job so I don't kill any patients so no sleep is something of a worry!
My bump seems to have exploded this week. Had my very first stranger danger moment- I always attract the weirdos anyway but it's a whole new kettle of fish when they grope your belly....
I think baby must be lying on my bladder/ my bladder is in its way/ baby just likes to punch my bladder as I'm constantly running the loo to produce a teaspoon of wee- am like an old man with a dodgy prostate!
Going to book 3D scan today! Not sure if I'll be able to resist the temptation to find out what baby is.... Must. Stay. Strong!
Does anyone else have a 3 door car? I have a 10 year old clio that I can't afford to replace with a 5 door. Am worried about how i'll get a car seat in and out of the back as don't want baby in the front and I have a dodgy back... Was looking at a keep in the car seat (this one http://www.mothercare.com//on/demandware.store/Sites-MCENGB-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=859259) but unsure if it'll fit/ how to get a baby in to a rear facing seat without being a contortionist/ if I should use a non-isofix seat. Anyone else in the same boat? What seat have you gone for?0 -
I think I must be nesting, I just randomly decided that I needed to clean the washing machine. I've had the drawers out and cleaned them, scrubbed everywhere. I am going to regret that tomorrow I think as I am aching already.
Anyone got any tips for getting black mould off the door seal? I always leave the door open but it still appears! I've tried that Service It stuff too but that won't shift it. Can I use bleach?
I do a hot bleach wash once per month, and our door seal is still stained black. Check to make sure it's actually mould, sometimes it will still be stained black, even after the mould is killed. Bleach is fine, just be sure to air it out overnight.
Also, I'm back! Got a bfp last Tuesday. Had a tlp on Monday, which was Dale's due date. Doing my best to take things one day at a time and enjoy every little niggle. I'm another who is on low dose aspirin per consultant's orders. As long as we can avoid blood clots, everything should be fine this time.0
