Well I am glad I stayed home from work because I have not stopped being sick all day...and I just had the delightful experience of hanging over the toilet being violently sick and my glasses falling right off my face straight into the toilet...! I know that is way too much information but I thought I would share my pain :rotfl:
  • Hope you're not kept waiting too much longer sunshine!

    Happy due date Moonbabe.

Glad your GTT wasn't too bad Bluebell.

Re birth weights, I'm not sure how accurate it is but when I was expecting DS I was told that a baby is likely to be the average of your birth weight and your OH's birth weight. In our case this was accurate as I was 6lbs, OH was 6lbs 15oz and DS was 6lbs 7oz.
I don't know if it applies to subsequent babies though, as other than my sister I don't know anybody who has had 2 babies at the exact same weight.

Hope you feel better soon daisie, having had to be medicated for hyperemesis gravidarum in my first pregnancy I really feel for you, pregnancy sickness is awful. If it makes you feel any better, if you're planning on having any more children, I've barely been sick at all in this pregnancy, and the nausea phase didn't last too long either!

That does make me feel a bit better, thank you :) my mum says she was worst by far with her first pregnancy and while she was still sick in the others, it got a lot better with each pregnancy. It is much better now than it has been anyway - at 25 weeks I now am only sick maybe twice a week. Huge improvement as up to about 14 weeks it was multiple times a day!

Sorry to wade in ladies but I am having a fashion related panic!
I have a wedding next week & having doubts about the dress. Mainly the cost & my mum as well as a colleague think it's too 'fitted'

    http://www.isabellaoliver.com/uk/shop/maternity-clothes/maternity-dresses/tank-column-dress-cobalt-blue.htm

I paid £75 for it but I see it's reduced further but none left in my size :-(

Any ideas where I can try to get another dress? Maybe £30 or so? I've already ordered from next, asos & new look but none were suitable.
I want something relatively fitted that doesn't make my bum looker bigger than my bump if you know what I mean? Oh and it must be maxi - feet & ankles are a mess :rotfl:

    congratulations Lara, enjoy your hugs

I'm also one with low blood pressure, I'm sure I read that it tends to drop in pregnancy but I'm not sure I remember where.
I've been working from home the past 2 days, it's a mixed blessing as I've had a few computer connection problems and have given up fighting how I've been feeling much easier than if I'd trekked into work, but I've decided to try and do a couple of hours on sunday whilst hubby is at work as my biggest deadlines are the 30th of this month and there's so many things nowhere near finished.
I've started to feel really hungry before bedtime since the weekend, wonder if that has something to do with a 3lb weight gain this week, will have to watch it and see what happens given to date I'd only gained 3lb so I've tripled my weight gain in the space of a single week. Must eat healthier!
I've got to start testing my sugars again on Monday, must remember to do this, hope they're normal as they have been previously and the diabetic consultant will discharge me and admit I don't have diabeties.
weirdly the last couple of days I seem to have been having problems regulating my body temperature. I know we get hotter in pregnancy but I'm going from over hot to freezing in minutes. I'm assuming my Raynauds is over reacting the minute any of my extremities get cold. One night I even woke hubby as I was shuddering so violently due to cold, and needed him to cover me as I couldn't move.

    Congrats Lara.

I bought the cot bed mattress from the mothercare sale on Wednesday and it came today - woohoo.

CC, have they seen the dress on you? Could you not go a size up if it's too tight? Or is it that it's fitted? I'd look on eBay. I got a dress I'm wearing tonight for a wedding reception, it's a tiffany rose dress. There's no way I'd pay full price though.

    Evening ladies

in regards to birth weight, I have convinced myself I am having a beast of a baby. I was 8lb 9 and my brothers were both over 10lb. My mum was 11lb  Apparently big babies run in my mum side of the family so I am preparing myself for it although at the moment there is no indication of that.

I booked my 28 week MW appointment today and they said it was a double one, what do they usually do? My 24 week was just a wee test, bp and listen to hb.

not sure Laila as my 28 week on is the same length as usual. I know that if I didn't have a reputation for being impossible to get blood out of that would have been on her list to do, otherwise she's sending me to the hospital to have it taken the day before I'm there for a scan anyway. I don't remember having a 24 week appointment though, think it was 21 weeks ish.

My 28 week appointment is a normal length one too.

When do we have more blood taken (if at all)? I have not had a blood test (apart from during emergency hospital trips; no routine tests) since booking in bloods.

Also when are they meant to start measuring your tummy? My maternity notes said it was meant to be done at my 24 week appointment but it wasn't done. Mind you, that appointment was cr*p in many ways!
