At my private scan yesterday midwife checked my urine and said it showed traces of glucose and protein so have to hand in another sample to gp today to get tested, blood pressure has been low for a few weeks too but not too low 100/65 i think (went to assessment unit 2 weeks ago for reduced movements and was feeling sick and dizzy with headaches, dr said its lower than should be but not low enough to be overly worried). Should I be worried? baby was measuring big at yesterdays scan, at 28 weeks and 6 days the estimated weight was 3lb 7oz, i have not had to have a GTT or anything x0

Mrs Muffin, really hope everything goes ok. At least you are in the right place to be taken care of and get to meet your baby sooner rather than later!
I have decided to try and move more to posting to this thread...even though it is scary...but I know you are all lovely!
25 weeks today.
Does anyone else get random strange aches and pains? Not sure if it is pregnancy related or not but yesterday evening the whole of my left side - shoulder, arm, hip, outside of thigh - was absolutely killing me. This morning it has all eased except for my left thigh which is still so very painful. Odd, I have never had anything like it before. I feel like I want a good stretch/exercise but I can't (those from the little thread know I am on strict rest instructions due to bleeding and an eroding cervix). It is very unlike me to have an urge to exercise!0 -

I have had very low blood pressure this pregnancy (though I am a few weeks behind you) and have been told there is nothing they can do about it, and it is better for it to be low than high!
I don't know much about the glucose in urine, I guess if it is there again they might want you to do a GTT or something. As for the protein, I think it can indicate pre-eclampsia but my understanding was always that that gives you very high blood pressure so it sounds doubtful with yours being so low. I have also read that protein in urine during pregnancy can also be (sorry if tmi!) just contamination from the larger amounts of vaginal discharge we get.
Good luck at the GP, try not to worry. At least if anything is wrong it is being picked up.0 -
I called my boss today to say that I was still on bedrest, and most likely would not be going back to work in the office. He said he was sort of expecting it. My job advertisement (for mat leave cover) has gone up today so hopefully someone suitable will apply and I can hand over fairly soon.
I've mentioned this before, but I'm so lucky to have a good boss on these issues. In the last 18 months I have spent about 5 months on sick leave without the slightest complaint, and now bedrest for 8 weeks before (paid) mat leave starts. I'm possibly the least cost-effective employee in history!!
Good luck Mrs Muffin with the c-section next week! This time next week you will have your baby in your arms, must be very exciting.0 -
Best of luck mrsmuffin, exciting that you get to meet your little one sooner rather than later!

teabag I had glucose in my urine about 4 times but never any protein so sorry I cant help with that, in the end I went for a GTT test but it came back fine.
2 people on my Facebook have had baby girls in the past week and are posting the cutest pictures, just makes me so excited to meet my daughter. hurry up baby!0 -
Well I have had a busy day today and am now ready to drop...was looking at a wedding venue with my friend this morning (for her, not me!) She has asked me to be a bridesmaid (not unexpected as she was my bridesmaid) and my baby girl has her first official engagement to be a tiny, immobile 'flower girl' too. I didn't like to say but I am less thrilled about that as the idea of having an 8 month old baby at the wedding is much less appealing than leaving her with my mum and having a night out by ourselves but my friend seems really keen to have the cute baby in her photos! Then we had lunch, then I visited another friend who has twin baby girls. They have just grown out of their 'newborn' sized clothes so she gave me TWO giant black bin bags full of clothes  just about to go and look through them. It is very exciting but now my husband definitely will not let me buy any more baby clothes!!0

daisiegg is the wedding quite far away? my daughter will be about 7-8 weeks at my best friends wedding, I'm chief bridesmaid and my friend is equally as enthusiastic to have a tiny flower girl in the pictures! so I am taking her to the day do/meal but at the reception my mum is going to be looking after her, well, that's the plan if I can bear to leave her! she only lives ten minutes away though so I can nip back if I need to0

I don't know about the rest, but my bp has been 100/60ish throughout this pregnancy and my midwife says that's a really good readingI had my 28 week appointment today, measuring spot on and my blood tests from last week were fine. I think my occasional tiredness / dizziness are probably due to not enough rest and the after-effects of a cold a few weeks ago.
I have my GTT tomorrow but that's because my Dad is diabetic, not expecting it to be positive. However I am expecting the consultant to call me in for a chat about homebirth / Group B Strep... given that my midwife isn't concerned, and is very supportive of me having a home birth, it does make it easier for me to feel that I can tell the hospital that I'm not changing my plans! Also got the anti-D tomorrow too.
Welcome to the new people, and hope it all goes well next week mrsmuffin!0 -
welcome Peonie, tcd and time2deal. Time will fly on this thread, I remember being number 40 something when I joined and I'm number 10 now with only 3 weeks to go tomorrow!
Sorry to hear you're having complications MrsMuffin, hope everything goes well for you and pleased you are being well looked after.
sunshine I really feel for you being overdue in this heat, I hope baby decides to put in an appearance soon. I'm 36+6 and have massive swollen ankles and feet which I think is down to the heat as they've been fine up until now.0
