Tee Hee ladies, I'm sorry to say I dint have miracle energy! I just knew the heat would wipe me out so I did it all early! Plus I'm learning that the thing they call Nesting is, for me, actually a combination of Fear & Panic!!

My whooping cough vaccine was right painful! Stinging pain after the injection & periodical numbness right till now, plus felt tingly & dead over night.

Plant pot I'm in a similar boat to yourself, desperately clearing clutter. It's taking a Long time, but the closer I get to my EDD the more ruthless I'm becoming!

lemon tree - I think most of us have been there with husbands / partners. I certainly have snapped at husband for not doing a few simple tasks, he's getting better, but to me his priorities are a bit squiffy. I'm still waiting for him to trial run fit the car seat, move my exercise bike to the shed (been asking since Xmas!)... I won't go on, but I could!

bluebell that's an epic amount of sorting out - building a new room! Love it!

Who was having craft room clearing issues?
Well, I've given up on mine. Not happening. Baby will Have to be in our room as there is No Hope of me clearing the craft/spare room / dumping ground. Husband gets to keep his office... I've no idea where to put my sewing stuff... It's become a bit of an impass. & because I'm planning on sewing for pinmoney (already have offers of work), it's not 'just' a hobby I'm willing to pack into the attic!

But I am improving with the decluttering... Yesterday morning I took a huge bag of clothes to the charity shop - 1st time I've ever done that! Lots were my nans so it was a bit sentimental. But I was rewarded with 3 v cute barely used baby soft & scrunching toys/books for 50p each. So that was productive... but then needed a nap!

At 3.30 I was out to the vets for our dogs vaccination.
Then at 5.30 needed to be an hr away in the other direction to meet an old friend who had some baby bits for me. I didn't get in till 8, husband had been in since 7:30... I had heartburn, a numb right arm & was totally shattered & yet he still expected me to cook for him! I didn't. He wasn't impressed. Humph.

fiery - that's good news, I guess they can't be too worried if they are only checking once a week. Squeak! Scary thoughts about sweep being talked about!

robots i had my whooping cough jab on thurs.
I thought the injection itself was fine - a lot easier than the flu jabs, but i couldnt sleep on my left side because my arm was so tender!

it still feels sore to touch & a small red bump has formed where the needle has went in. Hoping it sorts itself out asap!!

Do you need to wash new baby clothes before baby wears them? I am team yellow, so just have a few vests & sleepsuits for hospital bag (which I am dying to pack!)

I will be 31 weeks on Tuesday :D

    Hey ladies

glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling with energy levels in this heat, everyone keeps giving my sympathetic looks at work. I only have 5 weeks left at work now now and I can't wait!

I had another scan on Thursday and got to see my girl again (the only good thing about GD lol) the sonographer was showing me how she was practicing her breathing and managed to get some lovely profile pictures of her, she's totally cute! As always my scan notes say "difficult scan due to fetal lie" I think I'm going to have my hands full with this one!

Unfortunately her abdomen is now measuring in the 97th percentile which I had a little cry about feeling like it was my fault but DH was so sweet and pointed out the fact that he was a big baby so theres a chance she gets it from him lol

She's also breech with legs extended (she's such a rascal I'd have been almost disappointed if she wasn't the wrong way round) but the midwife assures me theres a bit of time left for her to turn phew.

    hugs to all

    31+1

Ladies I need help urgently! I'm travelling home from Spain today which involves a 2.5 hour bus journey as well as flight etc. However I have been up literally all night with horrendous diarrhoea. I can't take immodium, is there anything I can take to get me through the bus journey? At this point I daren't leave the apartment but I could send DH out to the pharmacy.
  • Argh angeltreats!

I have googled as I am sure you have and cannot find any reliable advice to signpost you to. Can you call 111 or get a relative in uk to call via their landline on your behalf while you are on mobile?

Horror of horrors would you consider OH getting you pads?!

DON'T EAT ANYTHING. Nothing in, nothing out. This is how I survived a 7-9 hour bus journey in non pg circumstances. However, the moment you are in the airport make sure to keep your fluids up. Consider rehydration sachets to get your levels back up to normal. If you are hungry little and often food once in the airport would be a good idea. Avoid acidic or spiced food - think bland.

Tell the airline and request VIP whisking through queues etc.

Good luck. My overnight symptoms stopped long enough for the bus journey so I hope you make it too and then keep hydrated x

Oh noooooo you poor thing :( I suffered lots with diarrhoea in the first trimester and I did a LOT of research to try and figure out if I could take Imodium but the answer really seemed to be no. I wish I had a suggestion, apart from as lilmiss says not eating anything. Oh dear poor you :( I don't suppose in a worst case scenario you could delay travelling?

Look, this website (which is American) says that Imodium is ok...it is worse for the baby for you to get really dehydrated from the diarrhoea.

...but all the UK sites I can find say don't take it :(

Thanks all :) am currently on the bus to the bus station, doing ok so far but am dreaming the BIG bus trip! Going to starve and drink nothing till I get to the airport and then try to get something like gatorade when I know I'm near a loo. Will phone NHS direct tomorrow if I'm not better.

Such a rubbish end to a lovely holiday!

    Eek! Poor you.
I spent time in India & swear by the homeopathic remedy Arsen. I know the science says it can't work but for me it did. But whether u can get it where you are I don't know. It's drop in the ocean diluted arsenic though, so that might be another worry!

Also, & perhaps more practical, is a teaspoon of carob powder & pinch of cinnamon powder in a glass of milk (OR soya substitute if you're in Any way even lightly lactose intolerant), OAT Milk is Very Best as oats are naturally soothing. The carob powder eases stomach problems by reducing inflammation & lessens the cramping that, ahem, expels stuff. I can't recall why the cinnamon though.

Hope it passes quickly. Water with lemon, sugar & salt will keep you hydrated & your electrolytes up which is v important. Xx
