had my whooping cough injection monday it didn't hurt but did send my arm a bit dead for the day.

I wouldn't worry cmace2 I have put 2 stone on same as you and I am a few days behind you and I seem massive (and I keep getting told this) but was bang on target when midwife last measured me.

Heres my bump picture please excuse the messy bed behind:o

Cmace check with your hospital re formula & bottles.
I'm hoping to go to a midwife led unit but they supply bottles & formula.
I do plan do bf but please promise not to beat yourself up if for whatever reason it doesn't work out. The thing I keep telling myself is that at least if I give it a shot, at least il know I tried :D

Hi everyone, been reading along but not replying as typing on my phone is slow going. 28+6 here, 6 more days than I made it last time. My growth scans aren't showing great things, there is a lot of resistance through the cord and baby isn't gaining much weight, so scanning twice a week and hoping and praying he can hang on in there for a few more weeks. I've got an ear infection as well and to be honest I'm almost completely absorbed by that pain rather than focussing on the pregnancy right now!

Oh dinah that sounds scary. I hope the scans are reassuring for you and that things improve.
    *de-lurking from 12-24 week thread*

my friend was induced due to being overdue and reports that her baby howled for the first few days as he was hungry. No-one apparently suggested formula at first as they wanted her to bf ut she wasn't making enough for him. Then when they did suggest it they had expected her to bring formula and bottles.

Our hospital has some bottles and formula available, I thought all of them would to be honest..

As for the first few days, you make colostrum then, not milk, and babies only need tiny amounts of colostrum to fill them up as it is nutrient-rich. I'm a BF supporter and have worked in my local hospitaal, and I'd be surprised if the baby was crying because they were hungry unless there was a latch issue and they weren;t accessing the colostrum at all. It sounds like your friend didn;t get very good support and ended up having a scary and unpleasant time :( She obviously did the best she could with the information she was given, but I wanted to clarify for others that your milk comes in around day 3 or 4, and before that they do only need tiny amounts of colostrum.

I do wish midwives had more time to spend with women like your friend instead of leaving them to it with a crying newborn and then not even helping them with bottles and formula :( What a crappy experience for her when it should be such a lovely time.

Ooh Dinah, thinking of you.... hoping little one can stay safe in there a little while longer x every extra day is one day better xxx

Well it's a bit warm in the north west today! I literally had a shower, got dressed, walked 50m to my car, drove to and parked outside the doctors, walked inside and was shattered and boiling! Midwife appointment was fine, everything still going OK and little HB is now 3/5 engaged. Lots of walking and ball bouncing was recommended, and if nothing happens then she'll try and do a membrane sweep when I go back next Thursday  Really want to avoid induction, and since we have a lovely large field opposite and a few shops a five minute walk away I reckon even with this pelvic pain I could do that once or twice a day, when OH gets home the sun will still be out.

Right, I'm off to get some lunch then a card making afternoon is in the pipeline - got a 50th birthday card to make for OH's mum, a birthday card for his stepdad and two fathers day cards to make as they're all happening in the next 3 days!

Plantpot - finishing work is ace isn't it! Have you any plans? Can't believe I finished 4 weeks ago I have been so busy I haven't had time to be bored. Lovely bump pic too x

Welcome impulse, I'll add you on the list later x

    Hi everyone

Thought I would come and introduce myself - I am 24 weeks today (though slightly scared at moving into the 'big girl thread'!)

We are due 2nd October and team pink - could someone add me to the list please? :)

    Hope everyone is well !

it's roasting here today isn't it sunshine?! I went to my grandmas for an hour and then attempted to do a full food shop in Asda on my way home. thing is I had stomach ache, back ache and I was so warm and shattered I ended up abandoning my shop midway round and coming home! just couldn't be bothered :( I am wondering what this stomach ache is. I had it last night in bed so was up from about 3-4.30 am (with horrific heartburn too) just sat downstairs with a drink. blah! x

    also welcome daisy :) xx
  • Thank you for the kind welcome back. It feels good to be returning. I've read back over the last few weeks & think I'm caught up - but sorry if I've missed anything.

    Hello to the new ladies!

It might be late, & she might not be reading, but Mega huge congratulations to MaryWoo! :T your bond sounds lovely xxx

    ----

What I did yesterday: sorted like with like on what feels like a huge amount of cloth nappies! 2 eBay lots, 3 different brands, 6different wrap styles, 6 different sizes/weights, plus different sized inner bits. Was a surprisingly therapeutic task :)

Why is this MSE? Because All you see there, nappies, wraps, liners, powder, training pants cost me less than £10!! :j - I used the MSE eBay app :)
