I've got a lovely meeting tomorrow with my head of department. He asked me how my work was coming along given the deadline I have, and I said slowly but I'm worried I won't make deadline, but also know that if I try to do even more hours i'll just end up even more exhausted and need more than the one day I had off this week. He smiled and said all the right things, but there was no sincerity there, don't think he really gives a monkey's as long as the work gets done. Not looking forward to tomorrow now even though it's a Friday and should by definition be a good day.
  • Hope the meeting goes ok Lemontree. Don't be pressured into working longer hours than you can cope with. I know it is hard but you need to look after you and baby and especially in this hot weather.

  • Best of luck Lemontree, yes, don't agree to more than is reasonable... Or less & then they'll be pleasantly surprised if you manage more!

Good luck with you appointment LailaP.

I'm at the Drs too this morning, for the whooping cough vaccination. I should have had it already, but was advised not to for a few weeks after getting out of hospital till I'd totally recovered... By which time I'd got that stupid cough & wheezing for a month, which has only been gone just over a week! But at 37+4 I think I don't want to risk waiting! I really hope it doesn't affect me too badly.

I washed all the newborn/1st size / 0-3mth clothes I'd acquired yesterday. They looked so nice on the line I took a photo! I haven't washed the new bits yet though, do I need to? I don't have many of them anyway.

    This morning I've already

    - unearthed the last disaster zone in the bedroom - the top of my drawers! Ready to sort & put away, ready to paint the walls tomorrow!

    - batch booked 5 portions of chilli for the freezer

    - washed & hung out all the baby sheets & muslins (all 2nd hand / handme downs)

    - made & eaten a bacon sandwich!

    - & set my family guy game characters doing productive things!

All before 9am! Sheesh! What's got into me?! :D

Good luck LemonTree! I like Robot's idea of agreeing to do less than you can so when you do a bit more they will be impressed lol!

Robots you have been busy! I saw a weird yellowish area above the bed on the walls and am dying to paint it but I just know I'll make a mess and get upset! Yesterday I made some cards and wasn't happy with one of them but it was getting late so couldn't do another, and I was so frustrated, emotional and whiny you'd think the world was ending! I even had a random paddy about not having room for a freezer even though it was 11pm at night, we just don't have room for one but all I want at the minute is ice lollies and cold drinks and convenience food you can just shove from freezer to oven!

So far today I've showered, done the pots and a man has been round taking pics of our bed base which has just totally collapsed, hopefully they'll agree to replace it it's less than 18 months old. Just sat watching Jeremy Kyle now (I don't care I love it) and doing some swagbucks and then I MUST devote the rest of the day to my essay.

Have a good day everyone xx

    39+5!

Wow Robots, what a haul you got yesterday! You've been busy this morning, I wish I could summon any of that energy, it's enough for me to put a load of washing on these days.

Fiery sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Do you think it might be pre-labour vibes? We are 6 and 7 on the list now! I've been getting a lot more uncomfy even over the last few days.

Ouch to your foot Bluebell, hope you're feeling better too.

Sorry work is a bit too busy at the moment Lemon Tree.

I hope your little one turns Ema, I'm sure they will :)

More sewing for me today - still got a few essentials to make before the baby arrives.

I agree with you Lara my energy has just gone! I do like one job in the house then I need a rest ha! robots I want your energy please :) not ashamed to say I'm still in my pjs watching morning tv on the couch :)

l wish I knew what the stomach ache was but iv got a feeling it's constipation related so back on the lactulose, ha, must admit that's been the worst side effect of pregnancy for me. I wish I was having some pre labour signs, I'm ready for her to come! told my OH we will have to start some eviction techniques soon hehe.

aw sunshine I can't imagine not having a freezer because I'm addicted to ice lollies too, our kitchen is too small for a freezer too so ours is in the garage and I even moan about that sometimes, having to go outside!

midwife this morning, hopefully there'll be no blood pressure issues this week...fingers crossed.

thanks sunshine the plan was too declutter the house as its all built up and had no time to sort it after working full time but I am another one who seems to have no energy :( Robots can I have some of your energy?

    Hello daiyegg

Lemon Tree I agree with everyone else don't let them pressure you you've got to kind of steel yourself and think of your baby first and that means making sure your ok. My work was pressuring me to do more cos they were so short staffed and I couldn't handle it very well which is why I've stuck all my holidays in and left earlier than maybe I could have done. But I don't regret it because my blood pressure had dropped last week at midwife because of less stress.

thanks for your kind words ladies, had a lovely day today, woke at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep because all I could think about was all the things I needed to do at work, but also everything we need to do at home. Ended up getting up at 6 (which is happening too often for someone who doesn't do mornings!) was in work just gone 7. Left a note for hubby of 3 small jobs I wanted him to do which have sat there for months as he was in bed, but then he came downstairs before I set off, we had words and I ended up in tears in a right state. Had a couple more teary fits whilst sat at work before everyone else got in. Had my meeting with the dept head today. Although I've done more than he thought I'd done there's still some biggies to do, and there's not really anyone who I can ask for help, so no real progress on trying to make my life easier. The only thing I cling to is that the deadline is the end of this month, but I know the repercussions will be there for weeks if not the whole of the month afterwards.
sorry for the whinge. I feel bad for upsetting hubby about the few small jobs I asked him to do, but in reality there's some pretty major ones which need to be done as well and he seems to be ignoring them on purpose, or maybe they don't annoy him as much as they do me.

I really must try and get some rest this weekend, but at the same time, I must finish emptying the craft room so he has no excuse to not do anything on his days off. Has anyone figured out how to clone themselves so we can get it all done yet?

I studied Genetics and I still haven't figured that one out, sorry! :D

Hope you manage to get some rest this weekend.

I got on pretty well with the blood test today, the nurse got my vein first time (which isn't easy). Just have to wait and see what they say when the results come back. Really hoping I don't need to take any extra iron, as I didn't get on well with iron tablets.

Today's lesson - try and buy flat pack furniture in future, and not things which are too big to fit up the stairs :o The single wardrobe was fine. The double wouldn't go up, even with the doors off. It didn't come apart any more than that. So, builders to the rescue. :T They lifted it up, and in through the gap for the window in the extension, so it's now in the upstairs. We can't get to it until they knock through from the new bit to the existing house, but at least it also solves the dilemma of where to store it (having already emptied out one bedroom for the building work, space is a slight issue).

Hope all went OK with the midwife Firey!
