I was thinking exactly the same, certainly doesn't look like 2 stone to me either!

Laila I've been knitting since I was about 7 so have had lots of practice, my mum is a veritable whirlwind of knitting at the moment, she'd done about 7 cardies before she started what she calls her proper knitting now that we know what team we're in.

Cmase2 You look great and I am very jealous of your bump!

Lemontree My MIL is an awesome knitter and is currently churning out a cardie a week so we won't be short of clothes. I attempted some booties the other day but wasn't happy with them. I'm better at stuff with big needles lol

Hope you stop feeling dizzy and sick soon Lemon Tree. It must be lovely to be able to knit something yourself for baby! I'm jealous of all you crafty ladies as I don't have an artistic bone in my body.

jenand8285 I found weeks 20-30 dragged a bit, but they've flown by since week 30!

skintchick thanks for your reply, I know the hospital can't force me into anything I don't want but in my case being high risk for several different reasons I will be taking their recommendations. Luckily they are a very supportive hospital and all along have asked me what I want to do this time with regards to the birth and will try and facilitate as much as they can depending on the risks.
I've read stories on here from some of the ladies whose hospitals were trying to push them into things they didn't want, but my treatment so far has been nothing like that. My consultants are both supportive of my desire for a VBAC and waterbirth if possible. I also want to avoid being induced if possible, but one of my risk factors is placental abruption so if the scans show the placenta is starting to deteriorate or come away then I'll agree to be induced.
I'm having this baby at the same place I had DS, that pregnancy also had complications and I was given the option of an elective c-section (it was before NICE changed their guidlines to allowing anybody to elect for a c-section in 2011), but they were very supportive when I refused and said I wanted to try to deliver naturally. They were brilliant and did hourly blood tests on DS as my labour progressed to check his oxygen levels as well as the constant external monitoring, so by the time it got to the point where I had to have an emergency c-section I knew it was the only option to deliver DS safely.
Hopefully this time it will all be different and baby will be delivered naturally, the pregnancy has felt a lot easier this time despite other complications so fingers crossed the delivery will go more smoothly too.
Sounds like you've got a lot going on in the next few weeks, you sound very organised. I'm not even organised enough to have made a list of what still needs to be done, but it's all in my head somewhere!

firey I still haven't started or read the list for my hospital bag, but I've set myself a deadline of Friday, so we'll see if it gets done, glad you have yours sorted now though, could be anytime now for you being over 37 weeks!
If I ever get any comments from staff on the checkout at a supermarket it's always the women that work in ASDA too!
If it makes you feel any better my bump is lobsided most of the time. Baby is head down with her bum up in the air, and she moves her bum from side to side, so sometimes I'm larger on the left, as I was this morning, and as I was writing the right side of my bump was sticking out as she'd stuck her bum there this evening.
Hope the pest company have been successful in getting rid of your bees.

    welcome lollypopswater

Glad to hear your enjoying your maternity leave so far Lara, hope you manage to get your few days alone time with OH. Hope the braxton hicks aren't making you too uncomfy!

Did your exam go well sunshine, when do you get the results? Is there a reason OH's mum thinks you shouldn't be driving? I drove up until the day before I had DS and intend to drive myself to hospital on the day this time (if induction, obviously not if I go into labour and assuming I can still fit behind the steering wheel).

cmace if the only weight you've put on is bump then it sounds like you're doing really well. You look really healthy on your picture and that's a lovely bump!

Good luck with your house move Laila, good news about your extra leave entitlement too!

Not long for you now you're in the top ten moonbabe!

Well, I did go shopping today, but being me I decided on IKEA! Because looking at storage solutions is obviously a higher priority than what I should be doing like sorting out everything for baby.
I really need to stop faffing about and get my priorities in order. I've decided to order the moses basket online otherwise it'll probably never get done!
Should be in bed now but baby is leaping about and it's quite painful so not much chance of getting to sleep. I find it fascinating to watch my bump make wave like movements. I'll miss being pregnant once baby is here, I've really enjoyed pregnancy this time which is a complete contrast to how I felt when expecting DS.

This has turned into another essay! I'm much the same in person and tend to talk too much!
  • Just found this hospital bag check list on a blog I follow

Looking at that list has prompted a question, I'm planning on breast feeding but should I be packing bottles and formula in my hospital bag just in case? And I've not seen bibs and dummies on a list before either, do I need to pack those?

    Morning
I was away on a hen do this weekend - I got a few shocked looks when I was on the dance floor but actually it was a fab weekend. I semi packed my hospital bag just in case - not actually washed any of the baby clothes but figured if I went in at 33 weeks dressing baby would be the least of my worries!!

Cmace - I've never seen bibs or dummies on a list either & I won't be packing them. I didn't really use bibs on my LO until he started eating. We did try with a dummy but not for the first few weeks - it's meant to be better to wait until bfing is established before doing so.

I didn't bring bottles & didn't really think about packing any - I am pretty sure the hospital will have bottles & formula if you couldn't b feed. We figured if we needed any OH could just pop to a 24 hour supermarket & get some. Newborn tummies are about the size of a small marble so chances are you will be able to feed them initially. I struggled more once I went home, but still managed to get there with help particularly from bf cafe at our sure start centre.
  • Hello ladies, so sorry for being AWOL. I really hope everyone is doing well.

Whilst I've missed you & wondered about you, I had to put my head in the sand as I was getting very overwhelmed & anxious, so I stepped away from baby related reading etc...

It had a good impact though as I found time to do more DIY & there's now no 'floordrobe' in our room, & importantly room in there for the baby!!
    Yay!!

I'm now 37+2, and really Must start taking it more easy! I had rather uncomfortable pains at the wknd from too much bending over.

Righto, I'm off to catch up on how you all are x

    Hi lollypops :)

We got everything sorted out with the builder, he apologised for being disorganised and forgetting what's he'd agreed to do, so everyone is happy :) We should have floors and a porch by the end of the week, if the weather stays decent, and windows will go in shortly afterwards. Feels like it's all coming together now, as we're having to make flooring decisions already!

I had to take yesterday off work as I was feeling dizzy. My colleagues rang me to tell me all about the cookies, croissant and two course lunch (and to check I was OK). The one day when they were paying to feed us all day and I ended up missing it! Bah. I'm working at home this morning and about to head out to get checked by the doctors, as I'm still not feeling right and DH says I'm quite pale. My next midwife appointment is next week but I need her to sign a 'fit to fly' certificate, so want to make sure that all is OK and sorted before that!
  • Thanks for posting that list glimmer - saves me a trip out to my car (where I keep my maternity notes just in case something happens when I'm out and about).

cmace you only need to take bottles and formula if you're not intending to breastfeed because then they expect you to use your own. If you're planning on breastfeeding but struggling they will provide you with formula at the hospital. Although it's over 3 years since I was in hospital with DS so that might be out of date advice now, but your midwife should be able to let you know what the procedures are at your hospital.
When DS was a newborn we tended to use muslins rather than bibs - and we got through loads of muslins. DS never had a dummy so we didn't take one of them either.

Sounds like you had a good time at the hen-do ema-o.

Nice to hear from you again robots. Must be satisfying to complete some DIY. Hope you manage to get some rest.

Pleased to hear you've got everything sorted with your builder Bluebell. Hope the dizzyness clears up soon and you can get your fit to fly note. Is your holiday already booked or are you waiting until you get the note?

My plan for today is to order a Moses Basket online, think I'll go and pick one now before I get distracted by something else!
