with ds I wanted a cradle but was given a Moses basket as a gift so being mse we used it. He had to have orthopedic footwear from 12 weeks so then the Moses basket wasn't wide enough and he went into his cot in his own room. We had a monitor so could hear him. Sometimes circumstances dictate what you do. We have the Moses basket ready this time.
Anyone else getting a feeling of pressure in their bottom, I am struggling to sit at the moment because of it.

Welcome Dinah93, we were on the same board back in 2012

Robots haven't seen you for a while hope you are ok.

Skint what type of sling did you use?

I feel the need to say that our builder is a lying ******* who is trying to charge us for things he had agreed to do as part of his 'all inclusive' price. You do not mess with a hormonal pregnant person. Seriously p*ssed off. Will be meeting him on Monday to discuss, when we have calmed down a bit.
  • well I did not enjoy the glucose tolerance test- by the time I had fasted for six hours I was pretty hungry, and then sitting around the antenatal waiting room (on the most uncomfortable chair) for two hours wasn't fun! still, it's done now- they will ring me tomorrow if my bloods show any problem, and as I am going away tomorrow night for a week, give me dietary advice over the phone to tide me over until I am back.

I also had my anti-d- in our area now they are only giving one injection, so it was a massive dose and did sting a bit towards the end. The midwife also had a feel of my bump- everything seems ok, but baby was particularly active today and kept wriggling away from her hands so she couldn't get a proper feel! I think I am having a naughty baby- it kicked my dog in the head this week (who was snoring with his head on my belly at the time!) :rotfl:

    28+1 today

Anyname, you only had to fast for 6 hours? That sounds a bit nicer than in our area! My GTT is in 2 weeks time, and no food from the night before until the test at 9am, then 2 hours sat next to the hospital cafe before they take the next lot of bloods. I'm also going to need the anti D then.

I asked not to have a morning appointment as I would be fainting en route to the hospital! I had breakfast at 6.30am for my appointment at 1.30pm.

Did you pay with paypal FF? If not I would phone them straight back - fingers crossed you get through to someone else!!

yes I did, thankfully I emailed them as the woman on the phone was rubbish and they replied pretty quickly, so hopefully I'll get the test soon!

going to the midwife tomorrow morning to check my blood pressure as it was a bit high last week. hope it's back to normal.

Skint what type of sling did you use?

I had a stretchy wrap which I loved once I'd got the hang of wrapping, and I moved onto a woven wrap at six months and carried her loads till she was about 3.

This time I've got a Close carrier second hand as although I loved the stretchy wrap, it's a lot of material and the Close is very similar but part of it is pre-tied with rings to adjust, so I think it will be quicker when I'm on the school run.

I've also treated myself to a new woven which can be used from newborn (although I do have one already - they are addictive) so I've got a couple of options. This is my new one http://www.pollora.com/en/Slings/Iceflower.html and this is the one I already had http://www.wrapyourbaby.com/maija.html

I love having a baby snuggled up on my chest in a sling. And it will be handy to have both hands free too.

I plan to have a go at babywearing this time
around, means hands free for a 2yo who wants to walk everywhere. Am on a couple of fb sling groups and there is so much choice, will probably get a caboo or a moby to start but going to go to my local sling group to try a few out.

    Those are lovely skint

No option with ours - morning only!

We have a nearby sling group too and will be paying them a visit once bump arrives :) DS needs to go in the buggy to the childminders at the moment, but we're hoping that if we can manage with a sling for a few months, DS will be OK to walk and we can avoid buying a double buggy. In reality he can walk it now, but it takes ages and ends up so tired when we get home that he doesn't want any tea. We'll probably still get a buggy board just in case he gets tired, but the double buggies seem to take up so much space!
