Ladies... I've just seen that Primark have launched their new maternity range this weekend... only in 36 stores, but maybe worth a look if you have a big store near you. Some really nice looking tops for about £6 and dresses for £10.
Personally I'm gutted... I've only got 10 days left so it's too late for me!!!First date 10.2.2002
Engaged 18.8.2010
Wedding 9.4.2012
Baby #1 due 26.2.2014 :j0 -
*unlurks*
I didn't have the linea negra until after I had DD. She's now almost 16 weeks and it's still there (albeit quite faint)
*relurks*Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
I have more downy hair on my belly, and am team pink this time. I don't remember that happening last time when I had a boy. Nice to see it is normal though!
I ordered a crib today, my SIL has a moses basket she will lend me, but I keep thinking when DS was a baby he was such a wriggly chunk that I felt a crib would be a bit sturdier. Will still borrow the moses basket to have in the living room though. Tried to discuss it with OH before buying-he just keeps saying that I know best and to do what needs done. I'm trying not to get cross with him, but it's not working.0 -
I'm very fair skinned so no linea negra for me.
Those of you saying your bumps are hairier, are you just talking about downy fine hair or something more? If it's more are you team blue, as I've heard it's the testosterone but wondered if that was an old wives tale?
I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and one of the hardest things I've done all week was to give myself a pedicure today! OMG it was hard work and a bit messy. :rotfl: It's amazing how much I've grown (and not just the bump), how I've slowed down and everything's become more cumbersome in the last week.
I did this this morning and was soo hard to do!
Ive had a couple of itchy spots under my belly button. I also have a faint linea negra, I'm
blonde but I tan very easily so I'm not really that fair.i have blonde downy hair on my tummy. And then my itchy spotty chest! Ugh!
Squirrel your bag list looks good, except I would swap the baby wipes for cotton wool as you're not supposed to use wipes for a couple/few weeks as they can be harsh on the skin. Although I guess they could come in handy for general spillages! I own around 20 bikinis lol so I've packed 2 tops that are the easiest to adjust!
I'd bring an eye mask too - when I had to stay over night this saved my sanity, lights were going on and off all the time I wouldn't have got any sleep without it!0 -

Thinking of you Birdie.
For anybody who hasnt seen the FB group I fell down the stairs on friday and broke my ankle in 2 places. Im in pot and crutches at the minute but need operating on but they want baby our first so going up to the hispital for an assessment tomorrow about sweep or induction. Once baby is out I can be operated on.
Not at all what we planned. Looks like breastfeeding might not be an option due to post op painkillers and water birth no longer feasable.
Gutted to say the least. In a lot of pain but hopefully ill be seen about the ankle as well tomorrow.
Hubby being amazing, has turned into a full time carer for me.
On the topic of bras I got some sleep bras from mothercare and they have been brilliant for sleeping in with a pair of jama bottoms as I get so hot at night. They have clips on as well for folding down for feeding.
Hopefully they can find you something that won't affect the feeding?
Just awful timing I hope tomorrow goes well.0 -
So just got round to packing my hospital bag (36+2)
Here's what I've done:
Bag 1 (baby)
3 x vests, 3 x sleepsuits, 2 x hats (1 cotton, 1 knitted), 2 x scratch mitts, 2 x muslins, 1 x pack of nappies, 1 x pack baby wipes, 1 x blanket, 1 x pramsuit (in case cold when coming home).
Bag 2 (Me)
1 x Button Up Nightshirt (for labour/post labour), Backless Slippers, 1 x pair of socks, 4 x big knickers (!), 2 x packs maternity pads, 1 x tube nipple cream, selection of breast pads, lip balm, hair bobbles...
Still to pack: Towel, toiletries, kindle, CDs/iPod, snacks, camera, phone/charger
Need to buy: Nursing bras - hopefully get fitted for these next week.
Also thinking of packing a t-shirt or something to wear in case I use the birthing pool - I dont have much swimwear... I bought a Tankini early in pregnancy but its a killer to get on and off and I wont want to faff around with that while I'm in labour! I won't get another one now as bikini tops that can fit my big b00bs are generally expensive so I'm just thinking of just putting on a t-shirt to preserve whatever dignity I have left!
Leaving hubby to pack his own bag!!
What do you think? Reckon I've missed anything important?? x
What about a massage bar or oil for back rubs, paracetamol or a tens machine for early pain, a clean nightie for if you stay in and the birth one is mucky, and a thin dressing gown in case you have to wear a backless gown? Do you have going home clothes packed?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
My belly hair is kind of soft but dark and some hairs are pretty long! Hoping it all falls out once baby's born. I'm taking it for a definite sign that there's a boy on board!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Didn't know the old wives tale about hair = boy. My kind of downy and not dark.
Re what to wear in the birthing pool, how about one of the comfort bras? I think the tshirt might get to heavy when wet and just get in the way. Like when you did swimming in pj's for survival classes!!Mini me due March 2014

Morning ladies!
Smartcat, so sorry to hear about your accident. Glad little one is okay though.
Birdie - sorry that you are still waiting for your baby, it will be well worth it in the end though, I promise.
On that subject... I know everyone hates a queuejumper... but my little man is apparently very impatient! I went 12 days over with my daughter so really was not expecting it, but Saturday evening started feeling odd and after a couple of hours it resolved itself into contractions.
We headed into hospital about 1.30am Sunday and he was born 11.45am weighing 8lb10. The birth went smoothly (that is not to say it was easy cos they do call it labour for a reason and it was hard work!) and we are both fine so got home again about 6pm.
Cannot quite believe it, or take my eyes off him for long either. He's been breastfeeding, grumbling, filling nappies and has already managed to pee in his daddy's face!
So in love:j:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Oh, and I had a waterbirth (did with my first too) and wore nothing! Didn't even bother taking anything this time as I found the tops I packed first time round just annoyed me.
That said though, we were going to finish packing the hospital bags on Sunday:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
