  • congratulations cllola, glad you got the homebirth you wanted, hope you manage to get the breastfeeding sorted, with DS I ended up seeing a specialist a the hospital and she really helped.

It sounds like these baby girls like to come out quickly - I hope mine does too so I can avoid a c-section this time!

hope baby doesn't keep you waiting much longer mysecretalias.

Daniel is adorable ndg. Hope Isaac is enjoying being a big brother.

    welcome alipops

glad to hear everything is going well with Erin sophiasmum.

MrsMuffin thanks for the tip about crunchies, I tried one yesterday and my blood sugars were OK afterwards, so I might have another one today! I wonder if it's because the centre is honeycomb and not pure chocolate? I'll test my bloods again if I do have one just in case it was a fluke!

My blood sugars seem to have regulated again the last couple of days, I think it will be easier to keep them stable now I've finished work because I've got all the right food in the fridge so I don't need to just pick what's in the closest shop for lunch. We've at least started looking at moses baskets now, although we still haven't bought anything for baby yet. We still have a carseat, pram and cot from DS but the carseat and pram we might replace, I'd like to get a carseat that goes on an isofix base. We do now have some newborn outfits and toileteries from my lovely colleagues. I'm 34+2 now so I suppose I should start to think about packing my hospital bag too.

Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend!

Congratulations on all the recent births :T

I'm having a strange day. Got in a mood with OH cause I feel he's not pulling his weight, cleaned the oven which has zapped ALL my energy, kept having to have breaks and ate two lunches in the middle  . So I went to have a lie down in the sun for a bit, dropped my new phone and it has a crack going through the screen now :( . So I'm having a sulk and watching last nights BGT before I tackle the hoovering. I need to go and see my horse too but I know the car has literally no fuel in it (says 0 miles  ) as OH used it last night and while the fuel station is only half a mile down the road I don't like the stress of panicking whether I'm going to make it.

On a plus/scary note I am 30 weeks tomorrow  which I'm completely freaked out by! It's the last decade of weeks before birth as I keep telling everyone!!

Hope you're all having a good weekend x

congrats cilola! can't believe how many babies have been born in their waters recently, I thought it was mega rare!

    neverdespairgirl he is gorgeous :)

afm still plodding along! my hands and feet are so swelled and uncomfortable they feel really tight. I went to my best friends hen party on saturday and stood up loads so maybe that's why, combined with the heat!

    Morning all.

Apologies for not getting back on here over the weekend. Hospital went well on Friday, spoke to a lovely but direct midwife (which I think I needed) and she made me make my mind up about the ECV, which I decided to go for. She then went a grabbed the consultant that does them in between him doing c-sections and I had it done that afternoon! They normally only do them on a Tuesday, but was quite glad of not having the weekend to worry about it!

It was incredibly painful, but so worth it when he scanned afterwards and baby was head down. Did have some happy tears afterwards. I have to go back in this Friday for a scan just to check that baby hasn't moved back but consultant said he would be quite surprised if they did as he had to push fairly hard to get them to move! Said he didn't think they would of moved on their own either which reassured me that I had made the right decision!

So lots of fingers crossed that they are still head down come Friday!

Midwife also said that if I could handle the ECV I would be ok with labour which was nice!

Hope everyone else is doing well and those now overdue get baby cuddles soon!

Big congrats on the birth of your little girl Cllola! Great that you had the homebirth you wanted :)

Alias - hope you don't have to wait too much longer!

NDG - that's a lovely name for your boy and so nice to see those pictures. He looks gorgeous.

I'm a bit swollen too Firey - my wedding ring is too tight to wear now, oops.

It's my last week of work stuff so I am just trying to squish everything in. I have lost all ability to focus though :o double oops! Ofc I left the hardest things until last.

37 weeks tomorrow - I will be glad to hit that mark as then I can go to the birth centre if the baby arrives. My bump has dropped a bit again so hopefully making a little progress (3/5 engaged at last mw appt). Got the hospital bag stuff sorted but not quite packed yet, gosh it took ages and there's so much of it!! All the baby stuff is here bar the car seat (arriving today) and tens machine. I managed to get a bargain for £1.45 + p and p on fleabay last week :)

aw congrats moonbabe let's just cross our fingers baby stays put now! glad you're so happy must be a relief :)

lara I can't believe you're doing work stuff, I also have no concentration and keep doing daft things, yesterday at my mums I knocked my drink over twice and then knocked a big plate of potatoes on the floor, I'm dangerous ha!

when I went to the midwife last week she didn't mention about the baby being engaged at all, just head down she said, should I be worried? I can't tell if my bump has dropped lower or not, ha. best get on my birthing ball today :)

  • cmace hope OH has started being more helpful round the house. I find myself getting more and more short tempered with OH and DS as I get more pregnant.
I'm finding the last 10 weeks are going a lot faster than the first 10 weeks did!

firey - my ankles are permanently swollen now. They used to go back down overnight but that's stopped happening now (34+3). At least we've not got much longer to go!

moonbabe - so glad to hear your ECV was successful and baby is now the right way round.

Lara - hope you enjoy your last week at work- mine flew by!

Hope everybody had a lovely weekend.
It was sunny yesterday so OH suggested we take DS to the beach, but I said I didn't want to be more than an hour from home, so OH went online and found a beach about an hour away. I'd never heard of it before, but it was a lovely little place, not a lot going on, but that was fine as it meant we didn't spend anything except the petrol so it was a very MSE afternoon out too.
I did a fair bit of walking too, pelvis was a bit sore towards the end but I was quite impressed that I'm still mobile as I could barely walk at all at this stage with DS. I sat on a rock whilst OH and DS ran round the beach and had a paddle in the sea.
My blood sugars are still stable, have been for 4 days now, and this is despite me forgetting to take my metformin one night, although I did take it with breakfast the next morning as soon as I realised. I had another Crunchie last night and again my blood sugars were OK afterwards, so I'm pleased to have found a chocolately treat I can have!
Today is my first official day of maternity leave, although I'm not sleeping well I stayed in bed until 9.15am which is a lie in for me, the sea air must have worn DS out as he didn't wake up until nearly 10am.
