DH randomly asked me this morning if I thought I'd be able to eat apricot flapjack during labour to help give a slow energy release. I told him that I was intending baby to pop out in about 15 mins this time, so wouldn't need it ;) Anyway, while I suspect that eating in labour would probably make me throw up (it did last time) I will be very happy to eat a stack of homemade flapjack afterwards. I can just imagine it though: Me: aargh another contraction. DH: just hang on a minute, I need to go and get the flapjack out of the oven.

Haha - when I was in labour last time OH had been advised that jaffa cakes are a good thing to eat and spent a lot of time trying to force me to eat some. I tried the tiniest corner & threw it up so it definitely doesn't suit me either.
Afterwards is definitely a different story though. Have told OH that he will be going to the chippy if this one arrives when there won't be any food available!!

Moonbabe - sorry to hear you are having such a dilema. Do you know anyone who has been through C section who you could discuss the pros and cons with? Are you against the idea of C section if it can be avoided? I know people who have had really good experiences and I think I'd rather a planned C section than an attempt to turn baby which doesn't work. If only you had a crystal ball so you could see whether it would work or not!!

Oh talking of food - good idea to pack something for OH as well - it can be a long day for them too!! Mine made sandwiches while I was in labour - my friends hubby stopped at the services on the way to the hospital (I know which option I preferred)!!

Ema-o - I have spoken to friends who have had a csection and most are pretty positive about it. I think it is almost the planned element and having too much time to think about it that is making it worse! Also the not knowing for certain the outcome of an ECV or an complications from csection etc.

Hopefully after getting more information tomorrow I will feel happier knowing that I have made the most informed decision that I can, they might have a feel of my bump tomorrow and tell me there is no chance baby is turning!

I wish we still had a decent chippy nearby. The only good one closed a few months ago, and is now an e-cigarette shop! :( The others all seem to manage to make really greasy chips. Bleurgh.

    Hey, how is everyone?

Congratulations sophiasmum that's a lovely name.

Moonbabe everyone I know that's had to have a c-section haven't had any problems with it at all. Just need a slightly longer hospital stay but some of the people I know welcomed that anyway.

Well had my 28 weeks mw appointment yesterday, I have a UTI which I knew as was feeling really grotty and I dipped my own urine the day before my appointment. Anyway measuring exactly where I should be, blood pressure is fine and just got to wait for bloods to come back.

    Hope everyones well.

so had some pink bleeding last night and in the scan today the nurse said that she was concerned the sac was too low. Said that everything was there i.e. yolk sac and pole but the sac was too low. Will have a development scan next week and in the mean time i should prepare for a miscarriage! Did not say definitely would have one but it could happen each way. Only five weeks pregnant and very fed up. Trying to be optimistic but going to take it as a miracle if there is growth next week :( x

Sorry to hear that emmaj30, hope things improve for the next scan!

I was just having a good prod of my (ever expanding!) bump and marvelling at how hard the bottom felt compared to the squishy top when I felt what seemed like a little hand right by my belly button :D luckily my OH got a feel too before it moved away and he told me to stop prodding him cause he must be sleeping lol!

My bump is really achey tonight though :( but the little hand makes up for it :) .

Huge hugs emmaj30. That is very worrying but it is so very early right now and it's quite possible all will be well at your next scan. I've had five miscarriages at various points in the first trimester and it is traumatic having to wait for scans but right now the best thing you can do is believe baby will be OK. There is a support thread on here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2236699 which you may find useful while you work through all of this.

    CONGRATULATIONS to Sophiasmum :T
Hi moonbabe, I have no advice for you, I just want to let you know you are not alone. I have my growth scan/breech baby/low placenta scan today. I'm pretty sure the baby is still breech so I will be in the same dilemma as you I'm sure. Whatever decision you make will be right for you.
I'm not sure what I am going to do, the baby is unlikely to move on her own now as I am 35+5. Personally I 'think' I might try the evc if it comes to it, but that is more based on the recovery of a c section with 2 toddlers at home.....

Hi Preggo and Moonbabe. My DD was breech all the way through pregnancy until 37 weeks. Then she turned by herself although I did the Spinning Babies stuff for a few weeks beforehand. There is still time. Are you both doing Spinning Babies? If not I can post the link (or you can google).

AFM - still getting lots of BH, and a friend who hasn;t seen me for three weeks said today I look massive! She also thinks I look like she did before her baby came a bit early...hmmm. I am so uncomfortable I don;t think I can bear another two months like this - my groin hurts FGS! And I waddle like a duck :( Maybe I'll take to my bed for the last month lol.
