I am from the 12-24 week list. I posted a very, long comprehesive email about must haves someone sent me on the 12-24 list. I can either post it here (but it is VERY long) or pm it. It has everything from clothing to hospital bag and so on.

Let me know if it sounds helpful.

Queue jumped a teeny bit..Erin Rose arrived this afternoon in a bit of a rush! 6lb 10 ounces of gorgeousness! Literally made it into birth centre for 5 mins prior to her birth - still here as she needs to be 6 hours old to be discharged. ....

Congratulations Sophiasmum, lovely name for a lovely little girl. At least you were only a few days early! Hope you get home soon and that the delivery wasn't too scary! Certainly fast!

Sorry you're not feeling well with the gestational diabetes MrsMuffin. Hope the scan went well today. I was a total chocoholic and cakeaholic before being diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I'm on 4 metformin a day, but still having a high reading once a day despite my best efforts but there's no pattern to it so the hospital are ringing me back next week so see if I need to take insulin on top, without a pattern to the highs they're not sure insulin will work so I'm not sure what they'll do in that case. The possible complications are very worrying but I just keep telling myself the hospital have to run through the worst case scenario just in case, however small the risk that they could happen. My hospital keep stressing that if baby appears to stop moving I must go straight in as there's a risk the placenta could come away, which had me worried, but luckily baby is very active and I've only had to go in for a trace once.
Hope you're coping OK with your gestational diabetes too purcy.

Just fed up with the GD now! It just feels like I'm on a cocktail of drugs and constantly confused about what to eat and what not to eat! At the clinic they scanned me again and baby is still on the top line of growth for everything apart from abdominal which is a bit higher, baby is estimated to weigh 5lb 11oz at 32 + 6!!!! Slightly scary! Baby is usually very active but was v quite this morning, but woke up after a crunchie bar! ( not good for the GD but I was quite worried they hadn't moved for a while, wow tasted amazing! and my sugars were ok!?!) So all was ok, Baby is kicking away now!

The consultant also has now put me on a long lasting insulin at night to try and bring my fasting levels down even further, Its all a bit hit and miss! Seeing them again next week. I cannot complain about the level of service have received from the NHS, Its been top notch.:T

Aqua: Hope they figure out if Insulin will help or not. It has for me, I'm on 2 units at lunch and supper (plus 4 metformin a day) and its enabled me to eat carbs again!!! Its really easy to use, and not as painful as the finger pricks!
I seem t have zoomed up the list as well! I will be induced at 38 weeks, which im not looking forward to, i have another scan in 3 weeks to see how big baby is and my birthing options. (induction or maybe a c section)

Firery: I also need to pack my hospital bag, I think I have most things but need to actually pack! I think the jug was to pour water on to your bits to help relive the stinging after birth when you go for a wee?

Congratulations on the new babies Mary, Vickyvics, sophiasmum and anyone I have missed!! Seems like I'm finally racing up the list after being stuck at the bottom so long!

I keep thinking about sorting my hospital bag but it still feels too early to dig out the babygrows and get things actually packed. Maternity pads are 3 for 2 in boots, I remember prefering boots ones last time but not sure why! Rather than a jug I found a sports cap bottle of water worked well. Plus pack something long life to eat, I was so hungry after giving birth I don't think the tea and toast made any difference. The bag of chocolate raisins was an improvement!

Argh I have been trying to get stuff together too, Fiery. For some reason it's proving a nightmare to get things like maternity pads! Better get on the case tomorrow.

I bought a pack last week from Asda but when I went to get another this week the shelves were empty! must be a lot of pregnant ladies around at the moment :) I think on a list iv seen it says at least 24 needed.

lilmissreading I'll have a skim through your posts see if I can find it, thanks! ema_o chocolate raisins sounds a good idea :D

congrats sophiasmum! I can't believe all the quick births on here recently. I love her name it's gorgeous.

for some reason iv spent most of the night awake worrying about silly things. I think packing my hospital bag made me realise I'll be becoming a mummy soon, and I can't help but think of all the things that could go wrong. silly I know but feeling quite anxious. ah well.

    - gorgeous name and how do I order a super quick labour?

agree about packing food, my lb was born at 3pm didn't get to the ward until 8pm was promised tea and toast and I am still waiting 2yrs later. Lucky I packed some museli bars and juice.

    Congratulations Sophiasmum - beautiful name!

I have a pretty good list that I have used for my bag if anyone wants me to post it?

Have been fairly absent here, but hope it is ok to have a little moan/maybe get some advice on breech babies and c sections?!

Yesterday was a bit of an emotional one! I had a growth/breech scan - had a brilliant sonographer, she want into so much detail, could see that baby had hair on their head and that they kept rubbing their hands against their face! Baby is still very much breech so we then had to wait to see a consultant to discuss options. Both myself and H had said all along that we weren't keen on the ECV and that we would opt for the elective section, but now, having been through it all and signed consent forms for a section I almost feel like I am doubting myself for not giving it a go :S

Cue lots of tears when we got home yesterday afternoon, kept saying to my H that I just wanted someone to make the decision for me, didn't want to have to do it myself and then potentially make the wrong one! Think H was trying to be helpful, asking was I sure I didn't want to try the ECV, but think that is just making me doubt myself even more! Should I give it a try or not?!

Think I have just become very overwhelmed with it being so close to the end, having to go through all the risks and signing the consent forms and it all just becoming very real. Before I was worried about the unknowns of labour but now I feel like I almost know too much and have too much time to think about it. All of this coupled with the fact that we have been given a section date (keeping that a secret from everyone!) but it is much closer to my actual due date than I was expecting and the consultant kept emphasizing the risks if I go into natural labour before then etc.

Sorry for the moan, just feeling very lost and unsure of my own decisions! There is of course still a chance baby could turn on its own, I spent most of yesterday evening inverted on a board, with a cold compress on one side of my tummy and a warm one the other side trying to get them to move! Hate decision making at the best of times never mind with something so important!
