I have been lurking but haven't felt great the past few weeks so haven't posted. Am now up to 4 Metformin tablets a day plus insulin injections at lunchtime and supper time for gestational diabetes.

I was measured by the midwife a week and a half ago and was measuring 5 weeks ahead! Have another growth scan on Tuesday so will know more then. Have been signed off work until maternity starts on June 12th so one less thing to worry about but i feel rubbish. PGP is hurting as well. Super scared about how big this baby is going to be and how it will get out. Worried about early induction or a c section, baby geeting stuck etc. Argh feel like everything is getting me down at the moment and i cant even have cake, choc, carbs to make me feel better!

Hugs for MaryWoo - but remember you are not 10 days overdue, you are 41+3, and not overdue till 42+1 Hopefully things will have got going properly by then.

I had a massive scare on Friday. I had a shower and as I was drying myself thought it was odd I couldn;t get myself dry "down there" and when I looked at the towel it was covered in blood, then I relaised i was dripping blood all over the floor and my daughter was in the room with me.

I went to hospital and they monitored the baby for a bit and then did an internal, and my cervix was closed, no obvious sign of bleeding, so they checked BP etc then said I could go home.

I didn;t even get out of the building before I felt another big gush and went to check in the loo and was bleeding again. I went back to day assessment and they did everything again (not monitoring but the internal) and the same result - cervix closed, no obvious reason for the bleed.

They offered me a bed overnight but I wanted to go home, and then spent Saturday in bed and it all seems OK. Baby was very active throughout so I did think at least it was alive and at worst it would be a prem baby.

I have since realised sudden bleeds are a side effect of the my blood thinning drugs so it's probably that (you'd think the doctors would have said) but I'm still knicker-checking and feeling a bit worried.

I couldn;t believe how much blood was coming out of me at home - I had a bleed with DD but only spotting. This was literally dripping out of me. Poor OH was petrified, with my history bleeding has never been a good thing.

Just hoping it won't happen again as they said they'd definitely keep me in if it happened a third time.

Oh Skintchick that sounds really scary, at least the docs don't think its anything to worry over and baby's kicking away. Try to take it easy, hugs to you.

Im counting down the days - 39 + 3 today! Half term is filling me with dread as my mobility is restricted with my back and Ill be home alone with a 5 & 7 year old..


Have got a midwife apt at the birth centre on Weds morning...

mrsmuffin sorry you are struggling so much with gestational diabetes. it sounds really rubbish

I have been wide awake since 6.30am. the sun is so bright! currently sat downstairs as I was annoying the OH tossing and turning hehe. no idea what to do today.

just a question what blankets does everybody have for their Moses basket? do I need to buy cellular ones? or just normal ones?
