Samtoby - I am glad everything is going well. I have to admit that breastfeeding is something that I am quite worried about. I have lost count of the number of midwives and support workers I have spoke to. I finally now feel ready to give it a go. The comment about your OH made me giggle, bless him xx

Sexki11en - Congratulations on your new arrival and you are both well. I hope you find the support needed to sort out breastfeeding xx

Sophiasmum - Glad you are sleeping better but I have to say I am jealous of your sleep! I think I must be hitting a insomnia phase. I'm alright once I am asleep, but getting to sleep is another story xx

jen_1985_04 - You are now a boldie!!! Good luck and I hope baby doesn't keep you waiting for too long xx

This morning I had my midwife appointment and apparently I have gone from being 1cm bigger than normal to 1 cm smaller!!! How did that happen!!! I am now a firm believer that the size means nothing. The midwife put the heartbeat monitor thingy on and she is perfectly happy.

I have also been to an antenatal class in my local community (not the NHS ones at the hospital) and I have to say I am finding it much better for making local connections with other mums than the NCT one. Even though it is going through much the same material I am enjoying it because it is great at meeting new people. Plus an added bonus is that they are drop in sessions, free, within walking distance and get me out of the house for a morning.

    39+1

Hope everyone is feeling well today xxx

Congrats to the new arrivals and welcome to the new joiners! Beware you will fly up the list!

VickyVics I totally agree re measurements, my midwife measured me at 28 and 31 weeks as 2-3cm over, then today a different midwife measured me at exactly in the middle of the normal range! She said it may be that at 28/31 weeks they didn't measure exactly from the top of the uterus as perhaps the midwife couldn't feel it? Then muttered something about 'extra weight' i.e they're not taking into account my flab! HA!! Well my flab can't be that problematic the worst issues I have had are chronic heartburn and now am getting bad pelvic pain, the midwife today had to lift my legs on the bed!

Baby still head down, but free. Back in two weeks! Closer and closer x

Ive consistently measured 2 weeks under on this pregnancy - but the same midwife has been measuring and my 'bump' is very neat at 37 weeks tomorrow :) I think the problem comes when someone different does the measuring. With DD1 I was fine (albeit measuring about 2 weeks under) throughout the pregnancy and then at 36 weeks was measured by someone else who thought I was 4 weeks under - ended up being referred to a consultant and induced!

    welcome creditcrunch!

Vicky thanks for doing the list, I knew I'd mess it up lol!

sunshine that is so rude! I can't believe they said that!

When I was weighed at my booking appt the midwife told me that it was important not to put on "too much more weight" as it would be bad for me and the baby and told me how important it was to eat healthily.

I probably would have taken it better if the midwife wasn't around a size 26 herself! (I'm a 16) so I just said "yes, that's just common sense really". She couldn't tell if I was joking or not lol :)

You didnt mess it up. I just added in credit crunch lol. Between us we should be able to keep it up to date :). That is until we go into labour. Not long now!!! Seems unreal that we have less than a week until our due dates!!!

I'm finding it really hard to not put weight on! I am starving all of the time. I'm finding I am having to have plenty of small meals because no sooner have I finished eating one meal than I am waiting for the next :rotfl: xxx

    Hi Everyone,

I hope it's ok to join. I'm 25+5 today and due on the 16th August. We are team yellow through choice and it's our first baby. I had to cancel my midwife appointment for this week so now have that next week. Not to sure what they do at 25 week appointment?

Hope everyone's ok and don't mind me joining.

    [!

Scotsbride Welcome and congratulations! Sorry to hear about your grandmother :( I don't know why people think it's ok to treat others so nastily. I really hope that you're able to get some distance between you and that you're able to enjoy your pregnancy - do you know whether you're having a blue or a pink?!
    - We don't know we wanted a surprise! and I need some incentive to push at the other end. As for my Gran I putting distance between us and not giving her any thing she can use or twist against my enjoying this pregnancy but will be glad when I can see my feet again!

Can't believe I'm number 4![/QUOTE]_ Good luck sure you'll be fine and make a fab mum

Thanks for all the warm welcomes ladies :-)
And thanks to Vicky for adding me to the list

Disney I had my 25 wk appointment yesterday. Urine sample, blood pressure checked & Doppler to hear the heartbeat. I went on my own & was out within 10 minutes.
I am in Northern Ireland though so I know the nhs here can do things slightly different go the mainland :D
