Mary we do same with DS child benefit and all being well will carry on for this one.
TMI all the talk of dampness thought I had better tidy the lady garden....was more like a forest!
I remember you saying about Pearl Jam GOH - we are going to see Neil Young the day afterwards and my husband is convinced Pearl Jam will make some kind of guest appearance as they get on very well. I've told him not to get his hopes up lol!
Even if you have given birth, as long as you express some milk etc (if you're planning to breastfeed) the baby will be fine with granny for a bit, they'll probably sleep the whole time and not even realise you've gone!
As for the old downstairs mixup, I keep mine trim regularly but I do think I should make a special effort for the birth. After all, no poor midwife wants to be rooting around a jungle confusing the babies' head hair with my lady garden pmsl!0 -
Thanks everyone for your support over my wobbling. I am feeling ok today. Midwife was sick yesterday so ended up having to go to the Hospital for my appointment. Bump still measuring big but as I have had a scan no concerns. Been a bit 'damp' but think this is my failing bladder - please tell me this isn't just me its happening to.
Hey Samtoby, I had this a couple of weeks ago. So much so that I changed my knickers 4 times in 1 day. In the end even went to get checked out by the hospital to make sure my waters weren't leaking. It is just another one of those lovely late pregnancy symptoms because baby is getting lower. It isn't just happening to you. I have had to start wearing maternity pads every so often because it is a lot easier to throw them away than keep changing my knickers lol. Especially as I am avoiding washing if I can :rotfl: x0 -
marywooyeah wrote: »sunshine and ndg - I got ticket protection so you get a refund if you can't go, minus the cost of the insurance obviously! I thought it made sense as this way if we can't go we get the money back, and sods law says if we didn't buy the tickets I'd still be pregnant on the night and we'd regret not going lol!
We have tickets to go see sarah millican on the 17th, unfortunately we brought them over a year ago and didn't get the insurance. Still unsure whether to go or just give to to family or friends to use instead. I think I will be mortified if my waters break whilst I'm there :rotfl: Although I have heard that certain places like John Lewis or Mothercare will give you a goody bag if your waters break whilst inside one of their stores!!!0 -
Congratulations Samtoby, I didn't think you would be reaching the 40 week mark. Such a lovely name as well. I hope you are both well xxx0

Hey Ladies
Popped into Boots today to get the free changing bag as it's their baby event and nappies are on 3 for 2. I noted at the till that the bag itself is included in the 3 for 2, so this small glitch happens:
Bag £30.00
Pampers Nappies £6.99 / 7.99 (ETA: you need to buy 1 pack to get the free bag)
Pampers Nappies £0.00 (as free on 3 for 2 - no need to buy a third pack of nappies)
Then the voucher for the free bag kicks in and removes £30.00 - leaving you with free nappies and free bag. (Muslin squares also count as nappies).
The bag doesn't look so big or such good quality but we figured we'll start with that and then work what we need from there. Always good to have a spare too.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Congrats samtoby so happy for you. Lovely name

well went on my spa day - was so relaxing - just what I needed! I did look jealously at the sauna and steam room though......got in the Jacuzzi (I have hotter baths than that!) Had a lovely facial, arm and hand massage and an eye treatment....really chilled now. Think baby enjoyed the treatments as I was getting lots of movement while that was going on - although it did stop me falling asleep.
All in all a lovely day - and nice to have a day to myself prior to baby being born.
You ladies going to concerts are v brave! either being v pregnant going or leaving babies.... I couldn't leave my DD2 until literally 6 months - she refused a bottle! I tell a lie - I left her when she was about 6 weeks literally for about 2.5 hours (the start of the bottle refusal) when she screamed at her nans for the whole time. This time - Ive decided not too stress and just go with the flow - its my final baby and if I don't have a social life for 6 months so be it...(Am already missing Robbie Williams (!) as his tour is too close to my due date... - roll on 2015!!)

Congratulations SamToby! Lovely news
Robots - you can birth a breech baby naturally, if you want to, though teh NHs is not always so keen. CHeck this link for some resrouces http://spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/breech-bottoms-up/339-vaginal-breech-birth?showall=1 but if you google vaginal breech you will get lots come up. It's YOUR choice, remember, they can only advise/recommend and they don;t always have your best interests at heart, sadly, but their own convenience. My DD was breech till 37 weeks so they can turn, but I did lots of research and was prepared to do it vaginally at home if she didn't.
Welcome to all the newbies!
Hugs to anyone who needs them. Pregnancy can be a rough time xx
AFM, I slept all day today! I missed all the sunshine and woke only for some breakfast in bed, some toast later one, and that was it! I got up about 6 I think and I'm still tried! I guess baby is having a growth spurt? I'm 27 weeks now, so am in the third trimester finally too
I also bought a new pram/pushchair. We have a Silver Crosss which I love but it won;t fit in my boot and we don;t have a big enough car for it to go in the car this time, as we need the seats for the family.
So I bought a second-hand Bugaboo Frog in aubergine for £75! I was really pleased. It doesn;t have a raincover but I bet our Silver Cross one will fit. It's going to live in the boot for days out, so I'll still use our SC usually as I just love it.
No-one else seems very excited so It hought you girls would understand! It's the only thing I will get to buy as we have everything, so I feel quite excited. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hey Skintchick - think you've had a bargain there! I do like a pram to be able to 'live' in the boot! - there are steps up to my house and I don't want to be lugging a pram up every day...0
