I am 39 + 5. Had a hot bath last night then started getting painless contractions around 10pm .. they were going from 4 to 3 to 2 minutes and getting more and more painful. Then I fell asleep and they stopped!

Am sat bouncing on a birthing ball reading MSE.

Very crampy low down, bump seems to have dropped, nose has started running.. don't know what's going on!

I started with a stitch in right side before contractions, then contractions and back ache....

I was very nauseas when contractions were coming and from googling it seems to suggest I was in proper labour!

Very tired today and aside from being a bit achy, nothing much to report.

Have had two sessions of reflexology in last 2 weeks... she was careful not to stimulate the parts of feet that encourage labour though.

Raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil capsules...

... third delivery this will be and dreading it! :o

    Good morning ladies,

Goodness me, I don't log on for a few days and I manage to go from number 28 to number 23!!! Can say I am getting nervous now. Really need to start putting my hospital bag together me thinks.

This week we have managed to pick up a second hand moses basket and stand for £30 and a baby bath and bath seat for £5. I say they are second hand, they actually look brand new. Really wanted a moses basket so that daytime naps could be made a little bit easier by her sleeping in the living room. I just wasn't willing to pay £70-£80 for a new moses basket and another £20-£30 for a new stand. Its not like she will be in it for a long time.

In other news I am getting really tired and really hungry. I just feel like I could sleep forever and then when I am not sleeping I could eat forever. I never feel satisfied with the amount of sleep I am getting or the amount of food (even though it feels like I am eating tons).

    xxx

Are your iron levels OK? I spent 3 months like that because when tested I was 1mg below needing a prescription of iron! Last blood test a few weeks they finally gave me the iron (stronger stuff you can't get in shops) and I have had a pretty good week now.

They were low a few weeks ago and then the midwife retested me and they were fine. She said it was just a blip so I am keeping my fingers crossed for that. Although I do feel permanently exhausted, even after just waking up from a full nights sleep

iv felt so horrible and tired today, everything is hurting! was feeling miserable but just got some good news, I'm only on a temporary contract at work even though it's been renewed yearly for 4 years! yesterday I had an interview for a permanent contract and I got it! :T yay! what makes it better is that iv interviewed last year and didn't get it because I was so bad at interviews. but my manager said I blew their socks off this time :D

so nice to know when I go back off maternity I'll have a permanent job to go to, even if nothing really changes for now.

Well done Firey :T That's brilliant news, and so good to have the extra security. I hope you are celebrating with a nice nap :)

thank you :) I don't finish work until 6pm today so I'll be rewarding myself with the nap then, or maybe an early night :) one more day of work and then me and the OH are going away for a couple of nights to a swish hotel for my 30th birthday :) so it makes up for feeling yuck today! x

    yay - congratulations Firey!

well I'm still here - I've done a walk of slightly over a mile today in to the market and back with mil, then we must have done at least another mile round Trinity in Leeds (me, bf, mil and niece) and now I am exhausted with a few aches but not able to nap and not in labour :(

I'm fed up now, I want to hold my baby and not be stuck in this awful limbo anymore :( Generally I pretty stable emotionally but today I could burst in to tears right now just because I'm still pregnant which is ridiculous

sorry to hear about your gestational diabetes mrs happy - I'm sure they will help you manage it well and hopefully it won't cause you any hassle or problems

Viks - I felt same and have been told to take 3 iron tablets a day. Problem is I cant as they make me feel so yuk! Have been throwing up etc. Im now taking x1 with lunch and drinking an iron supplement drink a couple of times a day - but I know the drink does not have sufficient levels of iron in it. Am seeing the midwife next Thurs for a repeat blood test so hoping my iron levels have improved. I honestly could have fallen asleep in work this afternoon!!x

Hello, I've popped in and out of this thread earlier in my pregnancy. I'm 36+2 now and am so ready for this baby to arrive!

We found out at a scan that we are having another little boy :) so we are now getting all the bits and bobs we had for our first son out and washed and ready :)

Baby is measuring three weeks ahead so I've been having growth scans. He's looking to be a bit of a whopper so I'm starting to get a bit worried about the birth now!

I have another growth scan this week and an appointment with the consultant on Thursday so am nervously looking forward to that as we will know then what's happening. When I last saw the consultant he talked about me being induced by my due date if baby was still measuring so big.

Does anyone have any experience of this?
