Sorry for all the questions! I had mine a couple of weeks ago, made me ill, but I haven't heard anything since.

Yes, it was the 2 hour test and they told me straight away. My second bloods were okay though. My first bloods weren't too high, but high enough to be a positive result.
I saw the dietician today, and she agrees that there isn't much that can be changed diet wise, I'll just a bit more aware of hidden sugars. Also saw the diabetic consultant and lots of other people in the diabetic team.Had a scan and baby is sitting up now instead of head down. It also looked as if my placenta was very close to my cervix, so had the joys of an internal scan as well. Think I need a cake to recover

Aww hope you're OK mrshappy and it can be kept under control with mild dietary changes. I'm assuming I don't have it as they said I'd get a call within 2 weeks, my GTT was 12 days ago and I've heard nothing.

Feeling for you both lara44 and samtoby re uni work! Sure I've said before that as well as full time work I'm doing an open uni module towards a psychology degree and doing a part time teacher training course which means I can teach adults basic maths... well the Open Uni course has essays due on 19th May and 16th June and an exam on the 5th June, due date being 15th June! Then the teacher training course involves lesson planning, teaching and being observed all day every Weds until basically I decide I can't cope any more! Just rang my mentor in tears as babybrain was blocking my ability to write a basic lesson plan on how to tell the time! Luckily she's open to a bit of 'on the day improvisation' lol

People keep telling me we are 'untouchable' as pregnant women so I should just pull a sicky at work for a week and get some uni work done, but since my nesting instict is in full throttle at the moment I'd probably spend the week cleaning even though after this weekend my house is pretty much sterile! That and I'm too honest and proud to call in sick when I'm not sick... that said, I'd love to not go to work right now, the staff I work with are so gossipy and !!!!!y I can't be bothered with it. 26 working days left!

Got my 28 week midwife appt this week (currently 28+2). Is this when they start measuring your bump? Some days I think it's really big others I think it's not and have developed a sudden unreasonable worry that they'll say he's not growing enough. He's not giving me as many sharp kicks at the minute, but is moving about/rearranging himself a lot more.

I shall leave now, I'm rambling in epic proportions sorry

anybody else who's had their 28 week appointment did they have their blood taken? I know it's different in all areas, just that iv been feeling so knackered just wondered if my iron levels could be low too as I was quite often anaemic before I got pregnant. but if she's going to do it next week I'll just wait

Ooh you've reminded me firey, she (midwife) said she's taking blood this week to measure iron levels.. so maybe you'll have yours done too... mine was perfect at 8 weeks hoping it's still good! xx

Hi Firey - yes 28 weeks was when I had bloods taken...... Had the result about low iron levels within a week....

I am 520 words down on essay 4 of 6......this one the word limit is 3,000 and I have decided I am going to tackle 250 words a night as I can't concerntrate on anymore than that a night after work.

I am hoping to have this one done by next Monday and then I can start on 5 of 6. I am not worried too much about 6 of 6 as its only 1,000 words reflecting on my work the modules completed.

I am trying to keep strong - others are doing a lot more than year 1 at uni!

I had my bloods taken at 28 weeks by the Midwife all was ok, but I have had iron issues so I am trying to have things with iron in.

I must go and sleep - I have shattered myself writing a couple of hundred words - I keep thinking of it - its quality not quantity each night!

Not to get my hopes up but I've been timing contractions since about 8.15 and they are getting stronger. Still ever so slightly irregular but definitely frequent occurances now!

Have let bf take his night meds and we have caffiene gels galore by the bed to get him up should I be ready to make tracks to the hospital in the night!

I was induced shorlty after term with my first son because they estimated he'd weigh 11lb - and he was born weighing 8lb! I've taken growth estimates with a pinch of salt ever since (-:

Well I am delighted to be able to say that last night was the real thing and we are now proud parents to Ciara Jane! Born at 02.08 this morning weighin in at 6lbs and 12.5oz having arrived at the hospital just 90minutes previously with them telling me i was going to get checked over and sent away again!
