Ah so you are now accepting that I have been right all along? An apology would be nice considering the abuse that you sent my way and telling me that I knew naff all?

Never mind I didn't think that I would get one. Still it feels good to be right and be accepted as such.

Strictly speaking twinkletoes is right  (which is why he's playing it!!! and everyone is taking the bait he's probably larfing his socks off) BUT the DWP are not interested in REALITY about anyone going abroad for less than 4 weeks.

The 4 weeks is significant because it is the same rules as going into hospital.

It also applies to carers if they don't care for 4 weeks.

It applies to respite care as well.

So pretty standard across all the benefits.

But the REALITY is that if everyone phoned every single time one of these occasions came up under 4 weeks the system would probably grind to a halt.

    So nothing to worry about.

Nothing much else to say really ;)

Exactly. That's what I would have thought.

We've never been on holiday anywhere for longer than a couple of weeks at most. But it would be quite possible, now all payments are made into a bank account and it's possible to access your income from most countries in the world.

I don't know who would get most aggravated - the claimant hanging about in the call queue for ages, at their expense, or the overworked DWP staff having to field calls very time someone wants do much as day trip to France....:T

Of course, many regulations say that every change of circumstance 'should' be notified, so perhaps we should all phone up if ever our prescription list changes...

On a sensible level, any break abroad of less than 4 weeks is of no interest ho the DWP.

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

It doesn't matter what you think - it is what the DWP are requesting.

Mind you when I rang them up to tell them all about the adaptions made at home for my wife, they were pretty quick in suspending her benefit.
