I'm sorry you're having a tough time whattodonow it's certainly not an easy ride this being pregnant. I think sometimes it's the sense of responsibility that makes it tough as you're worrying for two!

I have a history of depression which started after I lost my dad 11 years ago although I've been (thankfully) free of it for about the past 8 years or so, at my MW appointment she very kindly suggested that I saw it as a positive thing as I would know the signs to watch out for if it started creeping back in. I thought it was a really nice way of looking at it!

I seem to be quite serene about things for the most part but every so often I get a bit bloopy and fretful over the silliest things but they never feel silly at the time! I just have to believe that this time things are going to go well, that it really is third time lucky for us because if I don't think that way it's too difficult (I hope that makes sense)

It's so lovely to hear about the supportive OH's I think it's lovely how they find ways to be more involved.

Well I'm beginning to think that DH doesn't want me and this baby! Two weekends in a row he's tried to do away with me in his sleep!

Last Saturday morning (at 0430 to be precise) he was lying on his back sound asleep when he decided to raise his arms above his head very quickly. Or at least it felt very quick with the rate his elbow hit the underside of my chin and woke me with a start! He got left in no doubt as to what had happened then and I reminded him when he woke in the morning (that was me awake from then) and we both had a good laugh about it!

At some point last night I was lying funny with my head on the mattress down off the pillow when he rolled onto his back and lay on top of my head!!! Thankfully I'm not good with anything covering my head and managed to get out of there PDQ....he doesn't actually believe me today that it happened! Wonder what will happen next!!!

I think next weekend I'm going to move into one of the other rooms to save me from any injury! Good job we can laugh about it as neither of us are violent people and would never do any thing to hurt each other, but with people it's a much more serious thing and I'd urge anyone that feels that they are going through anything like that and are suffering because of it to seek advice, pregnant or not.

I've just used bio oil for the first time after a nice long soak. I feel amazing! I hope it works!

    Edit:
I've just been worrying I might end up using loads of this so googled it on offer, co op pharmacy now have it 50% off.

monty_dog, if you're near a pound shop they sell a version of bio oil which is allegedly as good as the expensive stuff

Wow this thread has moved quickly! With DS I'd never even held a baby before. You just make it up as you go along, but he seems fine :) Actually I was anaemic enough after having him that DH had to carry him up and down stairs for a few weeks, as I wasn't sure if I'd fall over!

In-laws are thinking of moving down our way, it would be nice to have them closer. Just been rightmove hunting to see if we can find them anything.

why do I let my mum and her opinions get to me? all my life weight has been a battlefield and an emotive issue between us, and once again I'm being told that I don't need to gain a single pound whilst pregnant! This started again on Saturday as they arrived for Easter dinner, she's said this before, and kept on about how she didn't gain anything whilst she was pregnant with either myself or my sister, but this time I bit and pointed out that when pregnant with me she was in hospital for 4 weeks whilst they tried to stop me arriving and with my sister she was 6-8 weeks early so she actually missed the most intensive weight gaining times. Now I'm just annoyed with myself that I bit and answered back.
Truth is I am intending to try and not gain too much weight but it's not realistic to believe that I won't gain a single pound, which I believe for a healthy woman wouldn't be normal. What gets me is that it now appears that losing 12 stone in the two years prior to getting pregnant isn't enough for her. It's enough for me and OH which is what is important but I just can't believe that it's not enough for her.

sorry for the winge, guess it's not your typical pregnancy winge but it's been praying on my mind since the conversation a couple of days ago and I need to let go of it.

You lost 12 stone? Wow well done you! Just ignore it. Mums have a habit of putting a flea in your ear about things, lord knows my mum drives me crazy as much as I love her. I read that you only need to eat an extra 200 calories a day during 2/3 trimester and you should gain between half a pound and a pound a week but this depends on your size to begin with. It's impossible not to gain weight, if your mum didn't then in effect she was dieting because let's face it the baby, fluids etc are going to weigh between 7-14lb alone.

Just take it with a pinch of salt xxx

monty-dog, I know I'm still overweight, I am never going to be a skinny minny, so far I've gained 3lb which I think is healthy for me. I really must stop letting my mum get to me, she's been at it for years so I should be used to it by now.

I'm no skinny minny either, I don't want to be! Sure I'd love to lose a little here and there but I like my food, I'm happy and my oh loves me as I am.

My mum drives me bonkers, I still go to her fir everything though! Gluten for punishment lol!
