We've gone for a hammock rather than a moses basket for night time sleeping but we're planning on using the carry cot of our travel system for naps during the day, once she outgrows these she's being transferred to the cot in her own room (in theory) but I guess we'll just play it by ear!

Hi everyone. Finally got round to adding myself to the list on here after being here for over a week. We had the second scan on Thursday and this time the alien behaved and we got the measurements, coming in at 14 weeks exactly, just as they thought last week, and also managed the NT measurements, all looking good. Just waiting on the bloods back from that one!

Been reading through all the lets about what everyone is getting and where, and taking a mental note although I know I will have forgotten by tomorrow!

We started on clearing out he loft today and DH told me that the cot he used for his first kids is still there (which I knew and told him that weeks ago) along with mattress (which I also knew and told him that weeks ago and reminded him today that we are getting a new mattress no matter what, it's been up there for nearly 8 years!). He also found a stair gate too and my boss just gave us one. And there's a set of arm bands and a brand new roller blind for the car window. Those along with the first and second stages car seats are all we have so far a part from a few bits of toiletries I picked up last week in home bargains, and we are being given a pram/pushchair etc and we will also use the family crib that my dad made for all his grand kids.

Loads still to get but I'm too chilled out and relaxed about it. Or so I thought until I had another meltdown today! I had to apologise to him for being a hormonal moody crabbit cow lol.

Anyway, any recommendations on what to use for the horrendous skin stage that I'm going through? My face is getting worse by the day, neck and back are also suffering too as is just into my hairline. Spotty, sore, and very painful. Ive been using Clinique for a number of years as I hate the feeling of anything else on my skin but there's nothing working the now :(

Re baby sleeping equipment...we will have a rocking crib next to our bed that my grandad made when I was born. Myself, my siblings and my cousin all slept in it and it is absolutely beautiful - he is an amazing craftsman. Of course we will buy a new mattress! We also have a Moses basket (we bought it after the 12 week scan...so excited we had to buy something!) and I am planning to maybe use that for daytime naps downstairs, or for daytime naps in the baby's room, or maybe for bringing with us if we go to my mum's or anything like that as it is light and portable. I suppose we will also have a cot in the baby's room ready for it to move into when it moves out of our room.

Has anyone had a look at the Asda baby event online? We looked the morning and ordered a nursing chair (one we had our eye on for ages in Mothercare and it is the cheapest we've seen it), a baby gym and some sheets and stuff. Of course I am panicking that we tempted fate by making a big purchase (the nursing chair is the first expensive thing we have bought) and that is why I can't feel movement now! Doh so silly :(

I was thinking of getting a bedside cot. We will have the baby in with us for at least the first 6 months, as our spare bedroom is too far away from the main room for me to be comfortable. Something like this: http://www.johnlewis.com/troll-bedside-crib-white/p231330995#tabinfo-ratings. So from the sounds of things this, plus a travel system (with a carry cot) should be enough to begin with.

The nursing chairs also look good in ASDA. I was looking at one in JL but those ASDA ones are cheaper. I may set aside some time next week and get a few things (despite saying 1 post ago that I wouldn't!)

Daisie, I had forgot about the baby event.

Re nursing chairs, we already have the ikea poang chair and footstool so I'll be using that. I plan on recovering the cushions and, possibly, will paint the wood white.

Yeah I meant to do it at the time but it passed me by :(

I thought when I first saw it that some at the top but didn't know if there was a reason they were still on it. I see it's done now!

Off to check out the Asda event online.....
