Hello I'm slowly migrating over, I've not had my scan yet but will be 13 weeks this week. Scan is on Thursday.
Has anyone bought their prams yet? What did you go for?
My mum has offered to buy mine, she has seen a travel system on ebay brand new it's only £160 now I know my mum wouldn't buy rubbish but I feel I want to see it first0 -
Welcome monty-doggy. Lovely to see you here. I have already bored everyone with my purchases but loving a chance to do it again!lilmissreading wrote: »We picked up a dream genii pillow on Sunday which we got for a 1p on ebay
We also bought:
travel system (buggy, car seat, carry cot) £5.75 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mothercare-Trenton-Deluxe-travel-system-black-grey-/321374030708?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=gr%252BzA%252FAP0J3odhNcfue4aFeVzeA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc (not sure if link will work)
Baby monitor including sensor pad and breast pump £39
maternity clothes (finally bit the bullet following a bra measuring episode in M&S where I walked out in tears of relief of a bra fitting again)
mama and papas cot £7.50
white company changing table £36.10
nursing chair £13
stair gates £3-10 each
travel cot £5
sterilizer and bottles £5.70

The post bits were 10 bibs for £4.785.
4 vests and 6 sleepsuits for £7.36
£70 worth of mat clothes (4 dresses, 7 trousers and leggings, 3 skirts and 21 tops)

Wow talk about money saving! My MIL bought me a cot and Moses basket from mamas and papas yesterday. They are stunning and I wouldn't have been able to afford the otherwise. I'd have had second hand but I'm so grateful to them
I'm going to get on ebay and have another look!

The reason we got so much is using the MSE app to find local deals for collection only. Much less competition.Met DH to be 2010

So I slid down the stairs yesterday. Not on purpose I should add. I don't know how it happened. Between that and the hours of gardening I did yesterday I now have a very sore bum.
This morning I picked up the Emily Oster book from the library and earlier in the week sent back all the maternity clothes I don't want. Plus ordered another dress.
One of the apps I have said something like: 'Now you've decorated the nursery...' What! It's still full of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] precious items.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 20360 -
tee hee our "nursery" is still a junk room although we are working on it! I seem to have a lot of motivation and not much energy as I'm starting to get rather large. Ouch for the fall though glad your posterior took the brunt of things x
E-bay is the best for bargains though I absolutely love it and almost all her clothes, swaddles, gro-bags and star wraps are from there that is some really impressive bargain hunting lilmissreading!
Welcome monty_dog nice to see you! We waited until we found out the sex before we bought our travel system as we (I) really wanted the cosatto giggle because of how light (cute) it is.
Just about to take another load of stuff to the recycling centre as we're clearing out our basement room to move stuff from the spare room in to it (if that makes sense)
23 weeks today! so pleased to be at this point I worked out she'll be born almost exactly 2 years after we fist started ttc so it's been a long and painful journey but I know it'll be worth it in the end!0 -
we're still working on our nursery (craft/junk room). I did start sorting out the spare room yesterday, just need OH to get it up in the loft now so I can move some of the craft stuff out of the nursery into there. One thing I have realised though is what a lot of wool I have
Monty-dog, my outlaws have offered to buy our travel system but I insisted that we had to be able to chose which we have now done. Turned out there were the usual conditions imposed on their gift so I'm glad we've gone ahead and arranged it, if they want to then donate towards it anything will be gratefully received. Just didn't want to rely on them providing essentials like the car seat when it was likely if they did arrive it wouldn't be until after the baby was born!0 -
I don't want to seem ungrateful! I'm not expecting the worlds most expensive travel system, I couldn't afford it myself so can't expect my mum to but I still want something nice! Spoke to my mum today and said I'd gone off the colour of the ebay one but found a shop local that has discounted travel systems so she said we can look nearer the time and I'll have what I want (within reason)
Going to mamas and papas looking at them is dangerous, before I could blink I'd totted up the system I like at a cool £800!!! Ouch!0 -
Oh Mrs I, I have come a bit late to this as I have not been on the forum the last few days...I don't know if you are still reading but I am so, so sorry to hear your news. I am sitting here crying for you and your family and I hope you can get the support you need. I don't have any words xxxxx0
