Hey, How is everyone? Well we ordered our pram today cost £625 but everyone said to me get a good one as it's used so much. Luckily my parents have offered to pay for that and the car seat. So we are incredibly lucky. Such a big purchase though!
Also been to sainsburys and bought some basic vests etc as they currently have 25% off. I'm also watching a steriliser on eBay don't really want to pay a lot as I plan to breastfeed. Still so much to get.
Has anyone had a freak out yet? I had blind panic this morning about what you do with a baby. When do they go in a grow bag, how old are they when they go in a cot, how you bath them etc. Sounds so stupid but looking after my niece and nephews very different to having your own.
Hope everyone's well x0 -
Wow £625!!! I won't be going over £250-300 max and even that's a push. Everyone I know has said you plan to have your pram/buggy until little one can walk but the reality is you end up with a cheap umbrella fold buggy or get fed up/bored and fancy a change way before then.
My mum has bought me so many clothes I won't have to buy anything, they are all beautiful I cried when she showed me. She also got me two grow bags, a steriliser and a baby food blender. I'm so lucky0 -
We have spent £355 on our travel system including ISOFIX seat base which I got off eBay for £70 (had £10 in Paypal already and £5 in nectar vouchers) as was £99 on Mothercares website.
Got buggy and car seat for £299 from Mothercare with £13 via Topcashback.

My Dad has given us £1000 to buy baby bits so its come out of that. I didn't want a 2nd hand buggy.....:o
Hopefully we will get pretty much everything else second hand, my best friend has given me bags of clothes as she had a little girl last August. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Each to their own regarding a pram some will get one 2nd hand and pay hardly anything and some will pay well over £1000 for a bugaboo or icandy. I don't think either persons wrong.
I bought a 2nd hand mama and papas cot, changing dresser, wardrobe for £150 from eBay so pretty pleased with that. Just need to get a mattress.
Lilmissmup , your dads been very generous. I think it's very much personal choice on what you get 2nd hand and new.
I'm not getting loads of clothes as we don't know what we are having so can't buy loads. My SIL has saved me some of the nice clothes from my neice and nephew.0 -
I keep worrying what if I forget something! I know I won't I have every list going but I still feel like this isn't happening even though it is!0

We will be getting our cot second hand, been looking on eBay but keep getting outbid!
We live in a 3 bed house but OH already has 2 children who live here 50% of the time so we don't have a spare room for the nursery so baby will be in our room so I can't get a nursery set as much as I want too as will just have enough room in our bedroom for cot!
Trying to find a 4 bed house is the plan once baby is born as OHs son is 11 and his daughter 9 so too old to share now!
Yeah I am very lucky with that money, want to get everything else within that £1000 budget ideally! Got to try clear as much debt as possible with my other money before baby arrives! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I am panicking a bit today
16+2 and have been feeling little flutters for about the last week or so, which I was pretty sure were baby moving (aware I could be wrong and it could just be digestive though!) but today, I have not felt anything at all the whole day. Do you think it is anything to worry about? I know it is pretty early to be feeling anything so maybe what I thought I was feeling wasn't real anyway? It is just scary to think I could feel it and now suddenly not
I am really fretting even though I know it is probably silly.

daisyegg, not sure what to suggest, if you really think something is wrong then you should call someone, but it could just be you've missed the movements.
I decided a couple of days ago that I must be feeling little sausage moving, been getting these weird feelings for a week or two but they didn't feel like bubbles or butterflies or anything else people tried to describe it as so persuaded myself they couldn't be anything. But realistically there's only one thing in that area which could be causing the weird feelings so it must be the baby. Phew at least the next time the consultant asks if I'm feeling something I won't feel like I'm failing a test or something.0 -
We got our travel system from this site
http://www.online4baby.com/clearance-travel-systems
it had some really good bargains and they get new stuff in all the time (we got the cosatto giggle in bizzie betty) and the delivery was free and super quick.
Just have the cot, changer, baby monitor and breast pump to buy now so nearly done!
Wow some of your families are generous! We are spending our baby fund and its lovely buying things for her!0 -
